There are 8 regions in TBT. They try to limit travel by keeping teams near their home region. About half the teams are college alumni. The rest are teams organized to promote a cause or just pick-up teams sponsored by a donor. The great part about Blue Collar U is it allows UB fans to relive that Nate Oats glory era. These players still play the way they did at UB, living up to the blue collar name.

Unavoidable as they are in the same region. Last year Boeheim's Army were upset before they could meet Blue Collar U. But this year we got the matchup of the tournament.

Blue Collar U is the alumni team from UB featuring players from their golden era with Nate Oats. They also won last year's TBT and the $1 million dollar prize. Today they played the opening round game against Big 5, which is a team made up of Philly schools (Temple, St. Joes, LaSalle, etc.) After trailing all game, they rallied to win it 78-77. Still alive. (FYI, TBT uses something called the Elam Ending. Whatever the score is after the first timeout under 4 minutes left to play, 8 points get added to the leading score. That is the target number to win. So in this game Big 5 led 70-60. Big 5 only needed 8 points to win while BCU needed 18. This comeback was the largest Elam Ending comeback in tournament history.)

Wife and I saw Oppenheimer in IMAX Saturday. The acting, especially Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. is tremendous. Oscar worthy. But as a whole, the movie wasn't at the same level. Also 3 hours is too long. Meanwhile my daughter saw Barbie and highly recommends it. It's not meant to be a kids movie.
