It made up for the Sammy trade up. Got a first round talent in the 2nd round at a critical position for our defensive scheme. Remember on draft day Kiper and everyone were slamming Darby because he didn't turn and look for the ball much in college. He's a baller and a great pick by Whaley and the scouts.

Whew! I'm glad to see the Seahawks lose!
Webster Guy replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait you mean you aren't rooting for Pete the Weenie, Sherman the mouth and Lynch the felon? Me either. nice to see some new blood in there. Broncos Carolina superbowl, I'd be happy for both teams. Ironically, those are the two teams that picked ahead of us when we drafted big 99 with the 3rd overall pick. -
The Rob Ryan Poll to End All Polls Poll
Webster Guy replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Coaches don't count against the cap. Hire a dozen defensive specialists, they're all free on Pegula's checkbook. Rob Ryan has coached several top 5 defenses in the NFL. (If anyone cares to look into it) While you're at it, look at the Saints personnel and tell me you could stop anyone with that crew. -
jets will tag wilkerson. not sure if he's the kind of guy who would sit out if he gets tagged, but the Jets aren't letting him go.
-
exactly. and he's the kind of coach that will speak his mind to the head coach and tell him he's wrong(if need be) with zero worries about getting fired.

The Bills would of won today. :(
Webster Guy replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, football dudes freaking out about grammar. How perceptive and 9th-grade-english-teacher of you all. Getting back to the real point of the thread, we said the same thing today as we laughed at the texans from start to finish. Bills over texans or bengals and it's not even close. Oh to live in a division like theirs. (Sorry guys I forgot to capitalize the team names, here's your chance to shine and get a sticker.....) -
Even though the pack and new england are both hurting right now, it will be interesting to see how far the Hall of Famers can carry their teams. I love the green bay fan base and Rodgers, but I usually root for the city that hasnt had much success recently (and any team playing the pats). Would be nice to see the skins get a win. They have some real fans too.

there is such a strange phenomena with sports fans thinking that all of the sudden a good coach can just forget how to do their job and therefore need to be fired. it defies all logic and reality, but is still prevalent, even by a few in this very thread. If you have weak special teams it can be one of two things: personnel or coaching. It can also be bad or good luck if you look at a small sample like one or two games--but if you look at the body of work by a special teams coach, they either have a knack for the profession or they don't. Bobby has the knack. He's proven it over and over again. Maybe he has been places where they don't have the personnel, but he gets the most out of his guys and we all know it. Looking at Crossman's record, it includes his squad in Detroit giving up a punt return AND a kickoff return in the same game. Why not give Bobby his job back?

Bradham wants to stay with Bills
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cant believe his grade this year is anything more than a c+. We have zero depth at LB, I dont see us letting him walk but he'd better be reasonable. Still wish we had signed harris from the jets. -
What if scenario involving Shady
Webster Guy replied to GaryPinC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shady's contract is massive right now. I see what you mean about him probably wanting to go back to Philly, but his pricetag is ridiculous. One thing about the guy that surprised me this year is that I never once heard him say anything negative or act like a jerk once. Not at training camp, not on the sidelines, post game, etc. He just seemed confident and a great team player. He's matured, and the change of scenery helped. He's got himself some real fans now who know how to support their team instead of trashing it nonstop like the Jersey/ NYC/ Philly fans are so famous for. If Tyrod keeps improving next year, we'll have a top 10 qb, WR and RB in Shady. That's nice. -
Recalcitrant: adjective 1. having an obstinately uncooperative attitude toward authority or discipline. "a class of recalcitrant fifteen-year-olds" synonyms: uncooperative, intractable, obstreperous, truculent, insubordinate, defiant, rebellious, willful, wayward, headstrong, self-willed,contrary, perverse, difficult; More noun 1. a person with an obstinately uncooperative attitude. Yup, all these describe Mario. Good word Johnny, I'm using it from now on. My biggest issue with the guy is that he couldn't beat anybody this year. He only dropped about 25% of his plays, the rest of the time he was mostly singled up against a freaking right tackle and he still was less than average out there. Looked old, slow and very much like someone who belongs playing for the raiders or the redskins. He had three nice years for us. Thanks. See ya never Mario.

This is true. Plus throw in the 29 yard punt from your own endzone and you can't win a road game against Cleveland that way. I will say, we had some impressive 3rd down conversions in that game that seemed to deflate the Jets D, which is normally a stout bunch. The funniest part of it all is I saw a bunch of Jets fans on their site saying Chan and Fitz had to go, that they sucked etc. When will people get it straight that Chan is one of the best offensive minds in the NFL and an excellent game caller (you CAN have one without the other). They were one INT away from 11 wins and the playoffs and now the fans think it's time to fire everyone. Hilarious.

What will get you excited for next season?
Webster Guy replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pettine is the key. I dont think he gets hired anywhere else as HC, and he's a better DC than Thurman. Pay the dude and bring him in. Mario needs to get cut altogether. We need more guys like Tyrod, Sammy and Kyle and less guys like Mario. Dont give up on Leodis he's still got skills, he was just rusty. At least give him the offseason and training camp to earn the 4th cb job. -
Broncos - Patriots - what a difference a month makes
Webster Guy replied to Billzfan37's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they will both lose in the playoffs in their first game. NE has serious protection problems that cant be fixed in 13 days, manning too rusty and old at this point. Watch them both go down. -
Exactly. Strength of schedule predictions are like grading a draft the day after you finish picking. Its meaningless. I ignored Sully's article til now, but laughed my way through it. There are too many other ways to get real football insight these days, so the only way left for Jerry to get paid is the controversial negative whiner article. Sad really.
-
He has the Freddy Jackson 'warrior' mentality. Average talent but tough, smart, durable and a team player. Always has a solid training camp. He's a solid Buffalo Bill, they won't let him go.
-
Was still a fun season. We're so freaking banged up right now we'd get killed in a playoff game anyway. I heard 18 guys on I.R.? Yikes. Next year.
-
Now that Whaley knows what he has, getting a RELIABLE speedster on the other side of Sammy as the WR3 or even 4 will help this offense greatly. Goodwin and Percy just don't have the bodies to count on to be there at the end of the season. It sucks but it's true, you can't depend on either one of them, and one thing we learned this season is we have a very good long ball qb so we need to draft accordingly. Force teams to play cover 2 against us and lighten up the box for our three great RB's.

Revis - no words? You had one job...
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
even though it didn't show up very well in the stat column, Sammy showed us in the first Jets game how he's impossible to guard on that clutch 3rd down play near the end of the game. here's a look at it. Guess which guy is 22 and which guy is 30 years old....... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25372374/look-watkins-absolutely-burned-revis-with-the-game-on-the-line -
Incognito's big priority: re-sign with the Bills
Webster Guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Check out Richie's athletic move on Tyrod's TD run in the first quarter. He fakes like he's helping out Eric Wood, then does a spin and sets himself perfectly into Wilkerson's rush lane. I've never seen a guard do that, or anyone. Giving Kromer, Roman and of course Richie some props for that stunt. Seems awfully risky but it worked, without that block the play goes nowhere. -
Sammy Watkins has arrived
Webster Guy replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
excellent way to end the season. Nice to see Sammy and Tyrod clicking and healthy at the end of the season. So important. Sammy needs to teach Tyrod the importance of going out of bounds and saving your body from the big hit. He's smart that way. -
Revis - no words? You had one job...
Webster Guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looked pretty slow out there. Sammy can do that to anyone. -

Very few highlights this year.....
Webster Guy replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I enjoyed the offense too. Sammy and Shady are among the best in the league at being explosive. Defense highlight game was NE2. Tyrod fun to watch, Darby, Karlos. Special Teams was rough. Fix it please.
