I can't take how lame and negative some of these hack articles are that come from the Buffalo News. I was literally laughing out loud by myself at this latest article by Mike Harrington that talks about how Miami is just another team and there is no rivalry anymore, and that "The Bills are completely irrelevant so they can't even have a rival" At first he starts with this line, taken from the Jerry Sullivan School of Gloom: "It's Miami Week. Squish the Fish, right? Are you pumped? Didn't think so." Oh you didn't think so? Why because YOU'RE not pumped for the home opener against Miami you lame-o? Wanna ask my kids or my friends that have been talking about this Sunday for months? I personally cannot wait for this game to start and its killing me that it's only Wednesday right now. You're not pumped to watch our new guys play their first real home game in Buffalo. Not pumped to see Spiller and the new plays Gailey has in store for Miami that nobody has even seen yet? You shouldn't have a job in sports if you aren't Christmas-morning excited for this game. So speak for yourself Harrington, maybe next time just say that you're not pumped, but don't speak for me or the sold out stadium thank you. I swear I would take the top ten posters on this board over every one of these hack writers (except Wilson). Here's the kicker: he goes on to write: "Fans can't hate the Dolphins anymore. Who's the quarterback? Who's the coach? You barely know." Really? I barely know? Wait you mean YOU barely know. I follow the AFC East because I'm a Bills fan, you obviously don't. I watched them go from 1-15 in 2007 to division champs at 11-5 the following year. Didn't you? Sorry dude but not only are you stretching a weak point, why don't you bring up game-relevant stuff like this: Dolphins left tackle Jake Long has hurt knee and linebacker Channing Crowder are both serious Miami contributors that are hurt right now. Cornerback Vontae Davis also has a hurt ankle, Will Allen got placed on IR for the SEASON. So that means CB jason Allen is going to start against Buffalo. I wonder how that might affect the gameplan for us? What about Ronnie Brown is he 100% from that surgery? That would be nice to know. Stop writing weak off season 6th grade articles five days before the home opener please and use your locker room badge to dig a little deeper. I've said this before here, but Warren Buffet has said that he would close down the Buffalo News because it's not profitable, but that he's keeping it alive simply because he thinks it's a valuable community asset. I disagree. The STADIUM WALL is an asset baby! Warren send us some cash for a TaILgaTe PaRtY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am trolling on a Dolphins website

This may have already been mentioned on this thread but it was interesting to read that although Chris Johnson had a slightly better 40 time than CJ, in the 100 meter Spiller was faster. (I think they were senior combine stats) As Cowher always says on every Percy Harvin or C Johnson long run highlight : "you can't coach speed" I can't wait for Sunday. -
I lost whatever shred of respect i had left for Jerry Sullivan when all he cared about at the Gailey press conference hiring was trying to insinuate that nobody else in the country wanted the job. That was more important to him than any philosophy questions or assistant coach hiring questions or normal things a decent reporter would have prepared for a new GM/ head coach hiring presser. He's a joke. Warren Buffett, whose firm owns the Buffalo News said the paper should be shut down and the only reason he is keeping it alive (it makes no financial sense) is that he feels it's an important part of the community. With guys like Sully on the payroll droning on and on about doom and gloom everyday he's shooting his own paper in the foot. When Buffett croaks and they close the News I'd love to see where Sully is gonna get his next paycheck. "Uh would you like fries with that?"

well said good motor and long arms needs a counter move. If somebody at Penn would've plugged this kid into an OLB spot early in his career he wouldve gone third round and been a decent pro LB/special teamer. -

Free 9" x 12" Bills print of your choice
Webster Guy replied to Assquatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone have the picture of the game in the snow - a huge whiteout - and you can just make out a Bill (Antoine Winfield if I remember correctly). I loved that pic. Was that the Miami Dolphin game? -
Except Clements isnt even a starter in SF and was always overrated. Bills had to let him go. The Jets need Revis badly. He's complete in all aspects of the game including intimidation. I'd take him over any DB including Polamalu or Reed in a second. I hope he holds out all year. I would if they offered me less money than they're paying Braylon.

its officially legal now but "jailbreaking" a phone is simply opening up the operating system so that you can do things that the locked, standard phones can't. Stuff like switching from AT&T as your carrier, running non-iphone endorsed apps etc. It was never really called illegal in the first place, just risky and warranty-killing. I have an iphone4 on order and the dude that works at the mac store told me that 99% of the people would gain nothing from jailbreaking a phone except screwing themselves up. Its for advanced users with specific non-iphone requirements. Jailbreaking sounds cool tho. Unlike JailBAITING which is an entirely different topic. For that one you need go to the archives and look up Travis Henry et al.......

ok this thread started out fine but now it needs to be killed. Wish we had a KILL THREAD button. -
In Case you were wondering why we drafted Spiller 9th
Webster Guy replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree. We drafted Spiller because Nix had him as the highest player on the board, possibly in the entire draft, not because Ralph told him we need excitement. -
Yeah i was waiting for someone to mention that performance. It was like we knew they were gonna throw to him again and again and yet we couldnt stop the dude. What a beast he was that game. Something happened to him since then though, and unless he's a high character leader I say lets let Stevie J have a shot at a full season at #2.

Why the Bills drafted CJ Spiller
Webster Guy replied to iLikeChix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Gailey is gonna use him like the Vikes used Percy Harvin his rookie year. Less backfield handoffs than college and more underneath routes, reverses, screens, pitches. Stuff that will get him some space to operate. Harvin obviously adjusted well to the change and I see a lot of similarities between he and Spiller in terms of the way they play. We have Freddy and Lynch for the normal workload, I think Spiller gets 3-5 carries a game, and the rest is receptions and YAC baby ! -

1. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway 2. Rush - 2112 3. The Who - Join Together 4. Jean Luc Ponty - Mystical Adventures 5. Neil Diamond - Hot August Night -
Agreed. Im amazed that so many people think freddy and CJ are enough to get us through a full season in this league. We probably wont need Lynch in week 1 but we're gonna need him in week 10 guaranteed. Unless a good offer comes through, which I doubt, he's going nowhere.

Leodis and Andy Levitre were the two coolest Bills as far as signing autographs last year at camp one day when you could tell they just wanted to get back to the showers and the dorm after a hot day. All the other players took off and those guys just hung in there politely and cranked out pics and sigs for quite awhile. Made my kids day. Chalk me up for the Leodis is Very Cool Club.

DiCesare column: Schobel wanted his schedule
Webster Guy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
conditional pick is my guess. bills have nothing to lose. he's not coming back and they should use that slot to develop a future lineman. not sure schobel is a good 3-4 guy anyway. -
2010 Starters - could be a lot better than expected
Webster Guy replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont really care that much about wins and losses, I just want them to be fun to watch. Im going into the season with no expectations. They have fun special teams, some good offensive speed and runners, decent defense. We're not gonna win the championship (along with 30 other teams) but they'll be fun to watch most Sundays, win or lose. -
32 teams vs. one entity in the NFL
Webster Guy replied to buffaloaggie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cause it's way more fun to watch (by far) than any other sport ever. Olympic curling was pretty fun though I must admit. -
Marshawn, you dont need to stay inside and do nothing. Go out and have a blast. Just stick to these basic rules: 1. You cant do drugs. Nobody can in the NFL. Its a rule all the teams have to follow, even the Raiders. 2. Don't drive drunk. They have this rule everywhere in the nation too. 3. You can carry a concealed weapon or possess a gun legally, but you have to go through the proper channels and apply for a pistol permit like the rest of us. By the way, you don't need a gun here in upstate NY anyway man. 4. If you get dogs, don't get a pitbull you dumbass. They maim and even sometimes kill kids. YES there are very nice loving pitbulls, but they are bred to be biters and some of them are mean as hell so choose another breed. Nobody in the association hates you, they just hate living next to a pair of pit bulls. This goes for everyone in the nation too. Including Oakland. 5. You can crank your car tunes, just don't be an idiot about it. Maybe turn the sub woofer down a little bit, it's up too much I guarantee it. 6. The way you repair your image is to go out and be social. Drink some beers, eat some wings, sign some autographs (dont forget rule #2 though). Go bowling and bar hopping and go to a UB college game or two. Stop acting like you're so oppressed. 7. Work hard, show up ito all the team stuff in shape and know your playbook. Be a good teammate and put the team first. Everyone loves a good comeback story, make yourself one. THEN you ask for a trade or a new contract. (duh)

Good post. I think it would do some people on this board some good to go read the message boards on other NFL teams websites. With the exception of the Saints (maybe), you will find the same kind of negative crap with people complaining about their teams and how the front office is a bunch of idiots and their players suck blah blah blah. Luckily there are still some optimists that really enjoy watching their team and stand by their players and coaches. Otherwise these boards would be dead. At least to me.

The Whit was a stud in college, OK in the NFL. I disagree that he's a product of a poor defensive scheme and that he'd be great on another team but agree that it's not his fault he got drafted so high. If he was a second round pick, which suits him better now that we've seen him play for years, people might be going easier on him. He seems like a good guy, I have to admit I was surprised when the cops had to use the tazer on him. He should've tweeted how that felt. Man it had to hurt. Im just laughing at how slow things are after the draft and before camp starts, and the ridiculous stuff that comes up on this board during the NFL doldrums that we are in now.

Lou Reed. Maybe THAT"S what Polian said. Josh Reed was LOU Reed. Decent singin voice, holds his liquor (and his blocks), can still be effective while drunk and high, always smilin and willing to take a walk on the wild side.

Hmmm Limited talent? He won the Biletnikoff trophy in 2001 for the best receiver in the nation, was one of the most decorated LSU players ever, ranks 9th in Bills team history with 284 receptions and 10th with 3,284 receiving yards. Not sure I would call that limited talent. The dude was one of the best slot receivers in the NFL for two or three years at least. He went through a bad case of the drops there for a year or so but he worked through it. Always played hard, blocked well, durable. When the Bills drafted him 36th overall I remember Polian saying Josh Reed is Andre Reed. He obviously never filled those shoes but he was there for our team on some days when nobody else seemed to get open. Plus he always looked like he was smiling in the huddle which used to crack us up. I think he was squinting or something but it looked like he was either constipated or about to burst out laughing. A lethal combination. I agree that developing another receiver is best for us now but I'll miss the guy. He'll catch on with a team when injuries hit.

Buddy stated that he wanted a scatback...
Webster Guy replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best point made is why we didn't we use our ten minutes. I dont care how badly you want your pick, there is always the possibility of someone who wants them more than you and is willing to propose a trade that will help your team more. There is absolutely no downside to waiting until your time is up, but there may be an upside. This seems so obvious, I wonder why someone like Jerry Sullivan (Doctor Doom) wouldn't pose this question to Nix. -
actual positive news from mort!

Except Evans. If Lee gets a serious injury it would be a major blow.
