  1. Dude you're forgetting Andra Davis. He's a proven 90 tackle a year OLB who knows the 3-4. He even had 3.5 sacks last year. He's a 9 year vet but he's played healthy and he's still effective.
  2. Wood is obviously a HUGE part of this year's success or failure. I could be wrong, but isn't the guy just barely starting to exercise his leg after major surgery and being in a wheelchair for the majority of the offseason? I know he's optimistic but that doesn't mean he's going to be able to battle full speed in the trenches 3 months from now. That freakin injury was so bizarre I still can't believe it happened, especially to a young healthy horse like Eric Wood. We need that dude to come back in a big way.
  3. There obviously will be a cap at some point. Any long term deal for a decent free agent has to take it into consideration.
  4. I would think the Ravens would be more interested in a solid Dback like Whitner and maybe Roscoe, who we obviously don't have much use for with Spiller on the team. They are a playoff team and need guys now, not future Maybe's. As far as paying an LT, it's hard to decide if you're overpaying for someone until you look at your cap space and what kind of deal Gaither wants. One team spending 10M on an LT might make sense if they're very thin at that spot and they're trying to develop/evaluate a new QB AND they have the cap space (like us), where it might make NO sense for a team close to the cap that has a decent LT but has other priorities. Hard to just say "we shouldn't overpay for a FA tackle" if we have 15M sitting there available. Do you mean we should save the money and keep it in Ralph's kids trust fund? Or is there some other free agent that you see out there that can help the Bills more? I don't see one. Even if the guy is average, it's still an upgrade over doing nothing. I hope the Bills get this guy, and I hope he's got an attitude problem and that he hates the guy lined up against him. Schobel has the crappiest attitude on the team so we're gonna have some room for it now that he's gone.
  5. Aaaahaha Leper Colony area. Good one. I was reminded of the designated smoking areas in airports (Atlanta comes to mind) where all the nic addicts are behind the glass wall puffing away, and all the people walk by outside and look in like it's a freak zoo. My kids get a kick out it, looking in at all the poor saps that can't kick the nic. I always tell em that you never ever want to be in that room, and that every single person in that room wishes they weren't in there either. Its a great lesson to never start. Ralph should sell the new SNUS stuff. Its pretty good, tastes like mint leaves, you don't spit or anything, and people cant tell you even have one of the little pouches in because they're so thin. And he could make some cash which he doesn't from cigs. You see, Ralph needs more money for his hobbies (eating, sleeping, wetting the bed, napping and burning 1st round pics on RB's)
  6. I don't know much about Spiller but he definitely seems more versatile than the Ginn Goblin. Maybe they thought they were picking Ted Ginn SENIOR but Roger screwed up the cue card. RB's that can catch are much easier to get involved than little WR's. Ask Roscoe.
  7. Oakland didn't want Randy Moss either.....
  8. He was a monster for the Ravens. Better than Ray Lewis during his last year there (before the Pats signed him) in the prime time games I saw. He seemed to always be on the injury report for New England though. Not a good fit for Buffalo because he's not Chinese, and Buddy's new philosophy is gonna be to sell jerseys in China and regionalize the franchise. Open up a 2 million seat stadium (you can cram in a lot of little seats) and go Bejing Bills !!
  9. It's Meaningless. Drafts need 3 years before you can grade them. Nobody has any clue right now.
  10. The third through seventh rounds go fast and furious. I want a comment and a film clip at the pace the players are picked. There are too many multimedia presentations and lead ins. Do we need popular music and slow motion replays before and after every break? Both could improve their coverage. ESPN could cut Steve Young and Tom Jackson. NFL Network needs a better screen to show draft order and other info.
  11. Unless Claussen becomes a top 10 QB in the next few years. If he does, then Kiper will definitely come out smelling like a rose.
  12. "Give me a Sandwich and a Douchebag, and there is nothing I cannot do."
  13. http://blog.blitznation.com/2010/03/21/und...r-arthur-moats/ Here's the article to the link above: By now we all know that NFL general managers earn their paychecks by their success in the later rounds of the draft and uncovering those hidden gems that can push a team over the top. With the bulk of the scouting just getting underway and many names being brought to the forefront who weren’t exactly on the tip of anyone’s tongues when the collegiate season started, this new segment called Under the Radar will explore just what scouts find attractive about certain prospects who may be available beyond the glamour rounds of the draft. This year’s draft is loaded with 3-4 personnel and the small schools aren’t excluded from that conversation as Arthur Moats of James Madison has shown during his workouts. Moats impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine with his compact 6’0” 246lbs. frame and incredible explosion packed into his lower body. That was further confirmed with his 4.66 time in the 40 yard dash which ranked third among defensive ends and his 36.5 inch vertical jump also showed just how powerful he is in his lower half. He showed great burst off of the line of scrimmage beating offensive tackles to the outside repeatedly during his days in college. For such a small player he plays with fantastic leverage and uses his hands well to gain the advantage on would be blockers. The questions are quite legitimate when it comes to Moats who played defensive end his entire collegiate career and will have a bit of a learning curve adjusting to the stand up outside linebacker spot in a 3-4 scheme. He has all of the tools to successfully make the transition, but some scouts may question his skills coming from a lower level of competition. One weakness that improved during his career but still needs some work is how he plays against the run often getting caught up in the wash during pursuit down the line. The one saving grace for Moats during his days at JMU was just how intelligent he is in the way he escapes blockers using his hands to his advantage and those skills can be refined to make him a star pass rusher at the next level. He will most likely be available in the 5th round and at that point in the draft he would be a huge bargain for any general managers of teams running a 3-4 defensive system. A number of names will be called during April’s NFL Draft that seem to be from out of left field, but don’t let Arthur Moats’ be one of them. Keep looking out for more Under the Radar players shooting up draft boards or quietly lurking in the depth of this class that could make a huge impact over the coming years on Sundays.
  14. Im not a big Ralph fan , but Ralph brought in Nix and Gailey, which seems a decent attempt to become more competitive. He ate the last few years of Jaurons contract to do it which shows the old man isn't a complete cheapass. Do you say they arent trying to be competitive because they didn't sign one of the few big name free agents out there this year? Don't confuse another AFC team signing a big name player as being bad for the Bills. Sometimes big name players hurt a team more in lost picks, less cap room, etc. Ask the Redskins how many of their countless big name signings helped them win games. Ask the Bears front office how limited the team's options are now that they have Cutlers deal crushing their cap room, or the Eagles with mediocre Jason Peters fatass salary. I think crybaby Brandon Marshall is gonna screw up Miami's locker room as much as he's gonna help on the field. I like our off season moves so far, and the draft last year. LB Andra Davis was a smart move for us recently. Hard to judge the front office yet, they're just getting rolling here.
  15. The Giants won the title a few years ago with a great defensive front and O line. Eli was just average then (and now). They beat the hottest team I have ever seen in 30 years with their big men.
  16. Dude you're one of the negative ones i was talking about. Obviously on any open forum message board there will be incorrect information, I was referring to the good stuff here. Duh.
  17. I think it makes sense to shop any player on your team if u get the sense that there is more value for your team in a trade. I would absolutely shop the guy, doesn't mean you have to come to terms, but at least get an understanding of what you are saying no to before you say no. I love Kyle. Who doesn't. But if he is going to be underutilized here I'd rather have a high draft pick and get a stud rookie that can help in other areas.
  18. aaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHaaaaaaa good one
  19. dude not only did that sound reasonably intelliigent, the Walter Cronk reference was genius. I can see him now, puttin the country to bed with that gray Hitler moustache ........
  20. I was just checking out the article that TwoBills Drive linked from the Wellsville Daily paper today (don't bother), and it struck me as I was reading it that this message board is FAR more knowledgeable about our team and it's players than just about all the media . Aside from a few notables like the Tim Graham's and Chris Brown's out there, it's remarkable how the national media and even some of the local area newspapers really don't have an understanding of our team at all. I'm at the point where I only read the Buffalo News articles just because I like to see what the players and coaches are reading in their local paper, but other than that, this board is the only place I ever get any real info on the team. Sniff sniff, I love you guys, this army of unpaid Bills columnists just trying to make sense of this team and see us win the Lombardi someday. (Actually that's a lie, I sincerely loathe some of you overly negative fools but I sure do enjoy the rest of you.....)
  21. I agree that getting Gaither for our 2nd round pick would be nice. He's got a few years under the belt, he's not great but he's pretty good according to what I read, and the Ravens took Oher because he was the best player available on their board (wish WE were using their board last year) so instead of moving the guy to RT they're shopping him. Ravens have already said that the offer of a 2nd rounder would "open discussions". If that happened it would take the pressure off the issue of getting a LT and we would have a lot of options on the first pick, especially if Nix isn't interested in drafting a QB this year. The problem is the Redskins have a higher round 2 pick than we do, and I read an article that said they are very interested in Gaither. If they don't draft OL in round 1 my guess is they're gonna go DT with their first pick and deal that second pick to the Ravens. Hope I'm wrong.
  22. I've never understood how anyone can evaluate a trade or a draft pick until you see how it plays out which usually takes YEARS. Maybe it was a genius move by the Skins, maybe McNabb beats the odds and stays healthy and gives them what they need. Or they may have just set the entire team back 3 years. Someone explain to me how they can know either way in the spring of 2010. Its like calling someone an idiot for picking tails over heads before they flip the coin.
  23. Clausen seems like a whiner and a head case from what I've seen and heard of the guy. And that's when he's winning. Sometimes those types of guys can't handle being backups for awhile or being on a losing team, which we are right now. I agree that the QB is the most important position, but that doesn't mean Nix is gonna take one in the first round. Some draft years have ZERO QB's that ever materialize into solid, winning NFL QB's, and others have several, like the Losman year with Rivers, Manning, and Big Ben. If Bradford ends up being injury prone in the NFL, I think this might be one of those ZERO years. (No way to tell for several years tho) I think we're gonna stay away from this questionable batch of QB's and go with the big linemen on both sides of the ball in the early rounds.
  24. Agreed. Unless the senile Al Davis picks him to sell tickets, he's not going until round 2. There is no way the Bills take that guy. We're going OT and DT in the first 2 rounds.
