Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
JP51 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it was sarcasm lol -
That could be interesting... I just don't see the Steelers taking him but that's where i think he goes if he goes rd 1 if not I think Cleveland or NYG in rd 2
-
I would love to see him 1st round to a team before us lol preferably in our division or conference just don't think he is gonna be that good
-
They do not they go tackle ... how far does Sanders drop now
-
Probably nothing, but Bills trade "proposal"

So much click bait going on now a days with misleading stuff... kind of annoying... -
Josh Rosen still being developed... Dion Dawkins traded for a 3rd cause he is too mean... Steph Diggs never traded for... Hamlin gone cause he cares to much, Rapp gone or never signed cause he hits too much, Zay Jones still starting because he is gonna be a great one... Tremaine Edmunds still with the Bills cause he is only 14 yrs old and has tremendous upside... Rex Ryan on his 2nd stint with the team after Adams fired Phil Jackson cause "who knew Basketball didnt translate well to football"... Jim Kelly hired as LB coach cause thats where he played 2 way in HS and we had an open spot.. Dorsey still OC cause he is the only OC that would stay... Rexies Bro is DC... and Adams looking to get Brett Hull out of retirement as K cause his kick ins are clutch... oh wait that was only a skate in the crease.. no matter... he gets him anyways.. the new stadium doesnt get built but the Highmark has the best renovated bathrooms in the league... and lastly... he eschews free agent signings in lieu of using the money on tropical heat lamps so we can grow palm trees outside Highmark....
-
I really dont know any of them.... but I was like Phil...Cmon man... thats funny...
-
Phil didnt look like he is taking it well LOL

I wouldnt pigeon hole this pick, I want them to take whomever the greatest impact player will be at the DL (DT or Edge) , CB or WR position... I wouldnt even be upset if a Top safety fell and we thought this person would be the next coming of Ronnie Lott... I wouldnt want to settle for a pretty good player to satisfy a specific targeted need like say CB when there is a total difference maker at say WR or DT... I do think that being willing to move will aid in which position we take because say we have a pretty good DT sitting there at 1... but he doesnt separate from one we can get at 35 cause its a deep DT draft... to move back... I just feel like this will be a bit of a ballet as the draft board unfolds... that said, I would love to get Grant or Nolen, Revel, Harriston, Golden, Harmon, Starks... would be ok with any of these.
-
I mean he has got to do whats right.. but not gonna lie, I stayed up late to watch us draft and he traded out of the 1st... I was like Duuude! Your killin me Smalls... but best he doesnt consider my feelings when drafting LOL
-
I remember that game... Dan Manucci came in, he was totally ineffective and Fergy had to come back totally hobbled... that was a horrible loss for us because I do believe we would have beat Oakland... I remember dominating them at home... I also remember the Home Oakland game was on TV cause it sold out...!

Love the thought of this...

I am hoping it doesnt go off the rails... there has got to be a fair deal to be had by all... but like you said.. plenty have gone wrong that started like this...
-
I never said Beane didn't make a fair offer, nor did I say he did.... Beane may have made one he may not have... He may have lowballed him, he may have been very fair I have no idea and neither does anyone that I know.... what i do know is that it takes two people to come to an agreement... So very simply I said some of this is on Beane... if cook is gonna stay he needs to make a fair market offer that cook is going to accept... and I suspect that if they do come into agreement this year that Beane will need to make a fair market offer and Cook will need to accept less than 15mm.
-
Oh I do not fault him in anyway... look like you said especially RB have a limited shelf life... one acl and there goes the neighborhood...they typically get 2 contracts in a career this is the money shot.... 3rd contracts are usually less lucrative 8 or 9 years into a career.... and like I said I am not trying to over think his stance... Voluntary OTAs could just be I am not happy about this... and then he shows up no harm or foul.. but I just know if he takes a hard line and escalates to Mandatories and Camp my gut tells me that this turns into a sh(tshow and that is not in his best interest. Now, some of this is on Beane as well... he has to recognize the value and make a fair offer... because to your point he is not a middling RB and has criticality to an Offense that could use every playmaker it can get.... I am just thinking post June 1 they hopefully can work it out... if they wait till next year... to redo it... then players get paid, prices go up and 15mm becomes pretty realistic for him... I know if they tag him it would be close to that... but lets not go there. There is a point and I dont know where (dollarwise) that is where you need to begin to balance risk reward and measure the cost against the production and intangible of the existing player and what you would get out of another RB... and what you would do with the saved money... That is where Beane is at currently I believe.
-
I am assuming that you are not referring to me as an oblivious Cook detractor... because I am most certainly not... Once again, My only point is that voluntary OTAs are one thing... trying not to over think that... however, if he chooses escalation... to sit out Mandatory OTAs, move onto Camp... or even part of the season... there is a litany of RBs that have tried this including his brother and it hasnt boded well for him... If he wants maximum dollar... it is in his interest to not go distraction or Diva, and to have a great season... no more no less... does this mean that I dont want him to get signed... of course not.. in fact, I hope they do give him a good deal ... your 3 for 40 sounds fair... if he takes it... but if he digs in and does what I am concerned he might quite honestly, that probably doesnt bode well for him and most likely means the scenario for which you fear... we let him walk... Now if you think him going all Diva and stomping his feet and holding out is the way to go.. fair enough... its just my belief that Beane will sign up the next guy and run him back. I hope we dont have to find out.
-
Not looking to compare running styles just positions... Just grabbed three high performing RBs who got huffy about not getting the money they wanted and chose to hold out or become a distraction one of them was his brother... to illustrate that it didn't end well for them. You disagree that's fine... but to say to James Cook look at what happened to your brother who seems to be advising you and say comparing him to his own brother is a weak comparison ... I guess we can just agree to disagree. Lastly... I never called him a diva nor at this point do I think he is I am sounding an alarm should he choose that path that others in his position who chose that path ended up irrelevant... he isn't a QB, WR, or game wrecking Edge rusher ... fact of the matter is that his position doesn't carry the tolerance for that stuff then others do... I hope he gets a fair deal I hope he stays and I hope he doesn't choose to become a distraction like the 3 I mentioned... that simple
-
Not sure i would label Dalvin Cook, Ez Elliot and Le Veon Bell dumpster diving pedestrian journeyman... I am not wishing for cook to go either not sure where you got that from my post. But I do stand by my thought regarding Cook not at OTAs is concerning and that if he takes the path of the 3 I mentioned he could very well end up like them. He is a 2 down smallish back that wants Barkley money and isn't gonna get it from us and almost certainly no one if he sits out becomes a distraction etc... his best bet is to go out there an produce

Bourbon... Cigar... Prayer... not necessarily in that order... LOL...

Bills trade Cordy Glenn to Bengals
JP51 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gonna need to wait for the spleen to heal... but after that sky is the limit! LOL -
Oh I think Dalvin is as good for James as Trevon was for Stephon... but the fact remains Dalvin Diva'ed himself out of relevance..
-
I honestly dont want to over think this... but not gonna lie, all too often when players who are disgruntled with their contract do this it tends to be a thing... when he starts skipping mandatory stuff then I think its at another level... I will say this to James Cook... be careful dude... lots of 2 down backs under 200lbs out there lookin for work and they dont want 15mm... Diva running backs tend to have an issue.. talk to Dalvin he will tell you. May wanna ring Ezekiel and Le'veon too...

Which past receiver would you pick whose skill set this team needs most.
