Now this is a very good question.... i think we are seeing new rosters are emerging but who is for real... I still think KC and Philly are the teams to beat... With some Detroit in there... but the Bucs if they can get receivers back, San Diego if they remain consistent... The freaking Colts if they are for real... the Patriots with Maye and Diggs and the Defense look scary to me... I think Pittsburgh is a pretender Baltimore too injured but they could be in the Bills category get in, get healthy and peak in the playoffs... Texans to me have regressed, Packers look tough as well... bottom line is a lot of renewal with new and up and coming teams in the league this year so its hard to tell... I will say this that I am much less enamored with the Bills roster and more with we have what was the best player in the league ... problem is he is struggling... this to me = big problems... long season, time will tell...

This team is certainly not a Championship favorite team... doesnt mean it cant win... getting hot going into the playoffs and healthy is a big thing... but its really more of a dollar and dream than it is having a dominate championship roster... 2 real stars on this team, Allen and Cook... throw Dawkins in if you must... no real WR weapons... a TE weapon that is part time and pretty much always dealing with an ailment and a Defense that has no star players, no identity and really pretty much a patchwork job of mediocre drafting, overpaid FA and a secondary that needed a 34 year old Poyer to actually come in and remind us of what a form tackle is... so we ran it back... lets see what happens... but a re tool is definately in order... we keep kicking the cap down the road with pretty much zero results... it may be time to take a step back, clear some of the deck and try to re tool a bit... we also need to examine our Coordinators at a minimum... Beane must examine his player acqusition judgement both drafting and FA and change because it has been resoundingly average.... C minus stuff...

So the thing is, I like Keon, I was hoping against hope that he would begin to progress and mature this year... more than anything, I would despise him being another 1 pick of the draft bust for us... certainly he has some time, but I feel like he is regressing and is absolutely not the threat that is concerning other defenses... now is this him, Brady or a combination of both... there is probably a bit of both there... although Brady doesnt control him getting to meetings on time... bottom line is I do not know what is wrong here... I do know that the production on a consistent basis is not there... I hope this changes.

Horrible Year To Be Buyers at Trade Deadline
JP51 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can take him... sign me up LOL -
Honestly not sure what has happened to Ty? Is this him, Brady scheme or a bit of both... suffice it to say our RBs really are not involved much in the pass game... to me that is a problem...

I like the kid He seems to be a popular guy agree He seems to be a popular guy agree Agree he is defo getting love this week
-
I think this is a big issue...
-
He is certainly unsung for sure.
-
I dont disagree here... Brady also seems reactive... his first half game plans seem like the same old same old waiting to see what the defense does instead of anticipating... I very well could be wrong here but it seems that way to me.

Outside of his TD in Atlanta I am literally not sure what he has done this year to warrant it... I am not against giving Gore a peek... I know Davis is theoretically a bruising running back... but I am not seeing a lot of bruising and broken tackles from him...
-
a fair nickname LOL Let us hope... he does... and to your point without understanding the route it is difficult... I will say this... I do not see folks besides Kincaid running open all that often... maybe its a thing maybe we just dont understand... but I tend to think where there is smoke there is fire and Allen is not at fault for the majority of our lack of passing game... some yes.. but for certain, I am not doing an all 22 with an ariel view either for sure...
-
Well, you cant really complain too much about a 31pt win on the road they all count the same... so way to go... still have concerns but lets get into it... here is my 3up 3 down UP James Cook - because without him we struggle to win this game, dynamic, electric and dangerous... I can only imagine what our passing game woulda been if he wasnt such a dominant threat. Jordan Poyer - Yes... JP simply from a tackling perspective he upgraded our secondary. He was involved in run support and did a very nice job... in position and played within himself... Shakir - his ability to RAC is elite at this point... Honorable Mention Bosa, Walker Epinesa and Rousseau.. All made big plays for us... that changed the game DOWN Bills passing game - Allen takes the blame in the press... and for some he should... we have not seen the MVP Josh maybe since the Ravens maybe Jets... I say passing game because I think our lack of ability to separate at the WR position is going to be an Achilles on our left heal to go with the defense Achilles on our right Losing ED Oliver - this is a big big loss... and absolutely is a downer for this game... not a Doc, but from what I am reading this is a long term thing, lets see when we get an update. FO - from watching Josh struggle all season with WR and doing precious little to McD taking over play calls on D (or so I have heard) and not firing Babich and getting a defensive pro in here makes me wonder what they are thinking. Maybe Beane is done and accepting our flaws and realizes that he needs to step back to build up just from a CAP perspective, maybe McD is going to bring in a new DCO but doesnt feel in season is the right time... I dont know... I do know that there are issues to be addressed... issues of their own making... and thats why I am increasingly moving from glad we have these guys to are they a significant part of the problem...
-
Indeed... win is a win... you take em all... but in the end I am not convinced this defense is capable... I have concern that McD is calling the D... not that he is doing it, right move, but that he has too... what is Babich for... again, why is he here... why are we not looking for a defensive mind... McD struggles with HC decisions and now he is calling Defense too... situation not optimal... improved for this game... but not what I would say is functionally sustainable

New coaches added this year - any impact?
JP51 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Indeed... like he has his team meeting at McDonalds... then they take naps... rest is important. Just going on record ... he comes back this week or next, plays 2 quarters and is out for the next 4 -
I think he is a classic case of a mismanaged QB 3 teams in three years none of them good... with the Steelers ultimately as a backup. He seems to be limited in ability, was never gonna be a franchise guy elite QB but could have been a fairly good top 20 qb if managed correctly. I think at this point he is pretty much broken, gonna take a reclamation to bring him back with the right group... gonna get flamed for this as the Raiders are a bit of a mess... but I wonder what Pete Carroll could do for him...

Like, my hope is that they finish last and draft Manning... I think Arch isnt a franchise guy and that will be another 3 or 4 year set back...

Joe Marino's 9 point plan for improvement
JP51 replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, I have no problem at all with your thoughts here... He very well might be a great position coach... that couldnt make the transition fine with keeping him in a role that he can be productive at... but I wholeheartedly agree that he is poor at calling games... and I am 100% in synch with you (and everyone in my household will agree cause they hear me every week) he has no idea how to game plan a defense against a prospective opponents offense.. he is relagated to half time adjustments... now is it McD or him I dont know... but either way its not good enough. -

The funny thing to me is how the coaching staff is whistling by the graveyard or simply refuses the obvious... the sad thing would be if they do see and just have no answers. Actually upon further review... there honestly isnt anything funny about where we are right now. -

I was gonna say, pretty much everyone here is similar in thought... I think what is missing in my opinion some of which we not be agreed upon is... 1. Identify a defensive mind and intstall this person... Fire Babick or not... but take the play calling and design duties away... I say fire him 2. Trade for another WR that can stretch the field but I hate this... sit Shavers, or Elijah or Samuel, put Keon on the bench etc... lets get Gabe in there when ready and see what he does... 3. Get another LB with some size and see if we can augment Bernards role from attacking/pursuing to more coverage and or maybe more blitzing... like a hybrid LB/Saftey like a George Wilson back in the day... he is awful shedding blocks and gets eaten up way to easily.
