Week 11, Chefs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
8BallSippin replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd prefer to lose this game, and win in the playoffs- we've done the opposite for years, lets try something different. -
Keeping it in perspective, Bills win percentage
8BallSippin replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
A few thoughts- - the Bills are beating team they should, that isn't chatter worthy - JA17 isn't hurdling defenders or air raiding the team to victory, also not chatter worthy - JA17 is quietly have a turnover free season, exciting for Bills, media, not so much - The Bills lost handily to the league darlings in Nat TV- they're just another team right now - everybody knows this team will win the East, everybody knows they'll win a playoff game- can they overcome when it matters most, and be a complete team? history suggests no, and until they do, they're relegated to where they are. -
KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate
8BallSippin replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
KC has a better HC, and in a game of inches, in a game where one situational play wins or loses.... McDermott is outmatched. That is the difference. -
If he has KC's staff around him here, he'd have multiple rings, I 100% believe that. He pretty much drags this team to the playoffs each year. Time for the Bills staff to give back a little, and find a way to help Josh get a Ship. Sorry, he's the best player in the NFL, hands down.

Denver has the same feel of the 2015 Broncos- stodgy defense that gets takeaways, and an efficient offense that runs the ball and doesn't cede turnovers. I don't think they will recreate that championship 2015 magic of course, but the team is playing the same game. If Nix continues to progress, the Broncos could be back. I've always felt John Allen's first championship will come this way, not having to play hero ball as you'd expect, but rather letting other players do their jobs. I still believe McDermott's lack of competence in pivotal situation footballs will be what hold us back, but who knows maybe we get a bounce here of there...

Do you approve of the job Brandon Beane is doing?
8BallSippin replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane's defining blunder will be to hanging on to McDermott too long. McDermott has done an admirable job for this team, but having him do it year after year and expecting more is folly IMO. McDermott is coaching at his ceiling. -
I'd like to have seen some screens, or plays designed to mitigate an aggressive pass rush. Also, I still think McDermott is slow to adapt to in game changes, he changes made at the half worked, but you can't move toward those in the first half, in some fashion? Good news is we pounded some bad teams, got destroyed by a contender. Hopefully that gives way to an honest assessment of our capabilities, and we can find our pace. The gadget play was all you need to demonstrate to someone who had not see the game, the Bills performance on the evening. Yuck.

I'd agree- the guys knows scheme and builds around the bodies he has on hand, and if those bodies change, the scheme adapts. Was he perfect, of course not. Better than McDermott, the evidence suggests clearly, yes. No hate for McDermott, he's presided over a very strong stretch in Bills history- but maybe he was here for a reason, and that reason no longer exist. Maybe time to give a new direction a shot.
-
that was obvious 10 minutes in, why wait until halftime to make the switch? But that's McDermott, gonna to what we planned to do, no matter what.
-
they do win big games, they beat the Chiefs at home many times, in convincing fashion- regular season. I think McDermott is too inflexible, he can't seem to make changes on the fly. He's not a bad coach, a solid DC. Again, he John Fox Jr. Just hasn't got the final oomph. Andy Reid couldn't get there either, then got Mahommes. Maybe McDermott will have his day, just painful to be so close and never be able to make the final push. he did have the greatest QB of all time, but you are right, nobody game planned a defense like BB. He has an aura about him, and you just feel confident he has every contingency planned out. I'd like to see him here, and how we feel about that guy, who cares if the rings come. I just think McDermott has hit his ceiling in the role.
-
I'd sell my soul to the devil to have that guy coach the Bills. Sorry he's a prick, but with Allen, rings would happen, zero doubt in my mind.

The throw to Shakir deserves its own thread
8BallSippin replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coleman makes that big catch, we don't run that absurd gadget play, and we run some screens to slow down pressure and gain some first downs, this game is very different. The Bills get shutout last night without Allen. that was one of the best throws I've ever seen, we're lucky he didn't get hurt on that play, I think 14 guys were chasing him! LOL -
So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire
8BallSippin replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills needed to counter that game with draws and screens, IMO. bring the all out heat Baltimore, okay, have make them pay, but did we run a screen at all? I can't remember. The Allen run to the sideline with 3 guys chasing about to nuke him on the sideline is fine once in a while, but damn, give the guys some options. screen game. they only have 11 players, the can't be everywhere on the field. They did alot of quick sideline passes, if I recall, but with no blocking outside that isn't really that effective. -
Defense Playing Undermanned Due To Performance Issues.
8BallSippin replied to Buffaloflash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did Von Miller play yesterday? I saw him suited up and his jersey was prestine... -
9/29/2024 Bills @ Ravens post game thread
8BallSippin replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
My question for McDermott, when it was obvious the defensive game plan wasn't working in the first 10 minutes, why not make changes then and not wait unto the half? That's nitpicking, but I just feel like he is stubborn at times. -
I'm just a casual fan, but he often appears to be content paying out a half of a defensive game plan, when its apparent its not working in the first 10 minutes. Why not make the changes earlier? The defense was much better after the half. Nothing impresses me about McDermott. Nice guy, good coach. Far to rigid in my amateur opinion.
-
When I watched the Chiefs/ Chargers game yesterday, I thought to myself, Chiefs will win this. When I watch the Bills/ Solid Team game and we're down by a score or two, I pray Joh Allen will be a hero, because I know the Defense will never take over or get a stop when needed. Its McDermott. Always good enough to be pretty good. McDermott is a younger John Fox. Good, just never good enough.
-
maybe they design a gadget play where he lines up as the QB, and our All-Pro QB lines up as nose tackle. We need to get creative here. sorry, still irate about that play call, as you can see.
-
Meh, we weren't going undefeated, and it was a tall task to go into Baltimore against a 1-2 team, that started slow and had their back against the wall. Hate to say it, but that Brady trick play will be the one we look back on that killed our chances of playing at home in the postseason. Worst decision I have seen in a very long time in professional football. Superstar Joh Allen driving, life in the offense, and you dial that up. There are no words.

"the Bills are trying to prove they don't need him" never thought of it that way...... interesting

Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?
8BallSippin replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh Allen strikes me as the guy who called up the current roster of receivers, and talked to them about how they will replace Diggs' production. Yes we will add some draft picks, but to start, its the other guys we have signed that will need to elevate. I'd venture to guess he's glad to see a guy who didn't want to be here, go on his way.. I just think we will be better off.... -
Wishful thinking that he will produce as a elite #1 again is folly. Things often gets worse before they get better, and this is the start. Let get: Younger Faster A Roster full of Guys who WANT to be Here Thanks Stephon, best of luck in the future
