  1. Yes, I'll take a receiving corp that helps you miss the playoffs for 1,000, Alex....
  2. this feels like an annual work bonus being announced, and its a pizza party... I hope he does well, and helps the offense. Still think this is the last gasps of a GM and HC on their way out end of season....
  3. the are so utterly one dimensional, albeit some of it because of injuries, that 17 doesn't stand a chance against a defense with a decent pass rush. They some Diggs like ambition this offseason, i don't know who is available, but they need to make a bold move, and not some flyer on draft pick.
  4. What we've had in place just hasn't worked as hoped, no shame in that. Elway won his first SB at 37, so we have a few more opportunities with Allen to try something different, i.e. GM/HC combo, and see if we can get over the hump. New Digs, New GM, New Coach, New Look.... I like it.
  5. I think they probably do make it, but if they miss I don't think I'd be that upset. Its time to make some changes, and I think a miss would help move us on. I don't know, seeing Allen utter "what the ***** are we doing" last night in frustration feels like a foreshadow of things to come....
  6. Outside of Allen, there would be no sacred cows. I'd what the Broncos did, just admit your mistakes and take your dead cap and bad contract pain immediately. Hire a offensive minded HC that brings in two things- the ability to leverage a prime HOF Josh Allen, and take the culture in a new direction. Hire the best DC you can buy, and set him loose to build his scheme with his guys. I'd also focus on always having an Elite #1 Receiver, Elite RB and Elite LT, either Elite DT or Edge Rusher. We need game changers. You already have Elite QB, this shouldn't be rocket science. I'd draft BPA, stock up on the best talent possible. I just want "trust the process" gone, no ill will, but its getting old an delivering the same or worse results.
  7. Mahomes looks like a god among men when he forces balls and they connect- but when they don't he's mediocre to not good. He's forcing may more plays this year since Kelce is limited by age and they can't run the ball. I think the Bills and Chiefs are at a similar place- they need to cut ties with some old players, and reload the roster for the next 4-5 year window. KC was an anamolly last year winning really close games consistently- it looks like Denver caught whatever that is.... just sucks we couldn't eek out one rings in our 3-4 year window... ahh, such is the life of a Bills fan...
  8. He need to go at this point, the coaches and players likely don't want him around. Maybe he changed his mind and doesn't want to play football at this level, have to think there are some guys who thought big dollars, until they got beat up a little or saw what was needed to stay in the league. Give more reps to a hungry guy.... KC is a sunk cost at this point.
  9. How do you feel about Vance Joseph?
  10. He's 30 years old, has so much money it doesn't matter anymore- you wonder if Josh is not as engaged as he once was, given that he has "trusted the process" and its always let him down in a big way. I think an organizational shake-up is due, I think the McBeane vision has run it course, and that okay, just move on...
  11. It kind of feels like we pull in guys who can "play the game of football", and have high character. While the character thing is important, football is a game of a play or two each time you take the field, that means wins or losses. The edge is having as many game changers across the roster as possible. Beane's roster strikes me as 50+ guys of which maybe 2 are pro bowlers, the rest guys who fill a roster spot. I think we still draft for stability, which I think when Allen was a rook and we had 20+ seasons of non playoffs football was valuable to changing a losing culture.... but we've moved past that, we need more playmakers, and I think Beane and McD just aren't those guys. This team, these systems, this roster, frankly, its boring.
  12. Elway finally won at 37 and 38, in a different era here he took a beating as did all players. Yes he went to more Super Bowls, but he won when he wasn't asked to carry the team anymore. Beane has been very good, but probably needs to go- need someone to build a strong, deep, diverse roster with a more dynamic play makers.
  13. The worst thing that happens this season, is they miss the playoffs and the Bean and McDermott era are over, which might not be such a terrible thing to happen- I think we would all welcome the change. They have been great, just not great enough. That being said, there appears to be a lot of parity in the league this season, and we lost to two young and hungry teams, no shame in that. I always saw this as boom or bust year, with the team at the end of a window... if we boom, awesome, if we bust, make changes and go a new direction. I don't know, I would take a down year to bring in a new mentality. I just don't think the current philosophy gets it done.
  14. Its probably this, more than anything. Outside of a superstar QB that gives this team a chance at playoffs every year, the roster is pretty pedestrian, always hurt, or something in between. I do believe losing these games is the result of mediocre roster management for years, and the coaching just isn't good enough to overcome the deficiencies in talent, and glaring depth. There is a spotlight on Beane, IMO. As there should be.
  15. I'd suggest with injuries heading into the playoffs always a very big factor, having as many options producing plays across the board is a good hedge. We all know Allen will Allen. as always, can this Defense get healthy/ stay healthy in January, and can they make a play or two to nudge this organization to the final game?
  16. There were two really bad calls on each team, outside of that they let them play. The Chiefs felt very Big Game Billsy last night... lol... i very much enjoyed it happening to someone else...
  17. I've never seen one man carry round such an average roster of footballs players for 20 games like he did... its about time.
  18. Meh, at the beginning of the season I said this team will go as far as the level of McDermott's incompetence, so the outcome was in line with expectations. Well likely upgrade some skill positions in the offseason, but at the end of the day, the Chiefs are more dynamic and just game plan better. I'll expect the same result next year because what holds us back likely wont change.
  19. McDermott is the Coach, I always maintain this teams ceiling is capped by his limitations. So i keep expectations low. I thought this year may be different, Josh's year was exceptional in that he did run over people, and he protected the ball... However, it was mini-rebuild year, so kept my expectations low. I assume McDermott is safe, so I guess its on Beane to find 2-3 difference makers for next year. Disappointed, of course. Winning the Divvy and being in the AFCCG with arguable worse roster, impressive.
  20. Elway finally won at 37/38 years of age, when he wasn't asked to do it all. Sounds like a guy we know.
  21. I don't think many of us expected that we'd win the East. Frankly, I was shocked we beat Baltimore. Had Kincaid not been "broken I guess" and made that catch, we might be in the show. I fully expect this team to be better next season. Again, I still think McDermott is holding this team back in the end, but he did a great job getting to last night. Hard to hate for losing to the maybe soon to be 3 peat champs....
  22. James Cook second effort TD, and the not to be had Kincaid catch would have perhaps been the difference.
  23. went out in the garage played basketball with my GF's eight year old son yesterday toward the back half of the second quarter. He laughed the whole time, he loves it. I don't regret missing football for moments like that. Its entertainment, and its a game. in the end, it wont make any difference in your life in any tangible way.
  24. Meh, I was skiing yesterday, and was fine with seeing the game, or not seeing the game. I got home late and watched, and it felt like Deja Vu. I'm going skiing again two Sundays. I love the Bills, but they're not going to be much different next season, because McDermott will be here again. Look, we used to watch meaningless football in November most seasons. Now we watch in amazement as we lose to the perhaps the best Coach/ Franchise to ever play this game, when maybe a Kincaid clutch catch breaks their backs. Its really exciting, even if we usually lose. The Bills, are a broken record, until something changes, I expect that records to continue to spin around...
  25. hmmm. neither of those. Kincaid and Coleman being non factors, Cooper not being on the field much, Miller being a ghost, KC being better coached, Elam being on this roster still, McDermott looking ambivalent. Not hating on the Mahommes, to the winners go the spoils. Josh would be unhinged successful if he wore Red and Yellow, plain and simple.
