But as someone posted today (either in this thread or another one in here), every single SB winning head coach & QB combo won their first SB within the first five years of them working together. This season that just ended was JA & McDs 5th season.
-
Reality is that without JA17, McD's record of "success" is nowhere near what it is now. IOW, a LOT of other head coaches likely would have had the same success with the Bills, as long as they had JA17 like McD did. And probably, a *better* coach than McD would have taken this team to the SB and/or actually won it.

Everybody's Feeling Stung right Now but please.....

LOL. Thanks for bringing back some good memories of my long past Dad. He used to use this saying with me & my two brothers all the time! He was a great man...B-17 gunner, baseball & football coach, taxi driver when we got into golf and hockey in our HS years...damn Lucky Strike cigs killed him. -
Unfortunately, she lost this morning. FWIW, a guy I work with, who is a big tennis guy, says that her weakness is not having a strong serve.

Was bringing Hamlin into locker room just a bad call...

Thank you for doing the work and posting this up....it is an excellent post. I guess the bottom line to be gleaned here is that the Bills have been a very "up and down" team for the last few years, and usually, their success is tied to how well JA17 is playing. -

Did you mean Tomlin instead of Hamlin? Just curious... -

What was the alternative once he told the coaches/GM that he and his family wanted to be at the game? Tell him "No, stay away?" There are no excuses for the way they prepared, the way they played, and the way they were coached. This "we were out of juice", or "we were mentally drained" is laughable, and an insult to regular people who deal with MUCH WORSE in their lives every day, and must trudge on in order to eat and pay bills. Yeah, maybe the Bengals had more overall talent....maybe, and that is debatable, but the Bills whole organization, save for a few players, just did one of the biggest choke jobs ever. -
Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
Bob Jones replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great take. Agree 100%. Boggles the mind that mentally, they weren't up for this game. If Hamlin had died, or was still in a coma, then maybe that would have been a *good* excuse. As it was, they had Hamlin on hand yesterday to inspire them. The reality is that this team has not been playing championship football for a couple months now, and they finally got exposed by a very good team. -
For the first 6 1/2 games (except for the Dolphins heat debacle) THIS YEAR, they did seem unstoppable. But since the 2nd half of that Packers game....and then Josh's elbow injury in the next game vs the Jets, things were very different.

Speaking of Beasley, does he come back next year?

Damar Hamlin in the locker room before the game?? 🤔 "Let's win this one for Damar!" So, nothing from that?
-
Is Terry "football dumb?" I doubt it, but I guess it may be possible. I mean, some owners are just plain life dumb, even though they are super rich. Just look at some of the unbelievable contracts they dole out to both players AND coaches, only to cut or fire them way before their contracts are fulfilled.

Wait a minute now, there's a lot of people in here who think McD should get Coach of the Year award! 🙄 -

This, times a million. When I watched the other playoff games, it was like night & day, seeing how all those other teams (especially the defensive units) were flying around, operating in absolute frenzy mode. -
How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?
Bob Jones replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ssooo, even former players can be totally wrong, just like many of the folks in here. IOW, they (former players AND the myriad of so-called talking head radio & TV "experts" are no smarter than any of us). TBF though, most people in here have Bills blinders on, so the overwhelming number of folks who thought the Bills would walk away with a win vs the Bengals is understandable. Lesson: Don't waste your time watching/listening to any of those sports talk shows.....they're ALL just BS. 😉
