  1. Of course, they're all trying to create schemes & plays that have receivers getting wide open, but how many teams are succeeding in doing that? Can't speak for other teams, cuz I really only closely watch Bills' games, but the Bills sure weren't doing that since the Packers game. However, I did watch all the playoff games, and it was like night and day, watching the Bills offense struggle just to get completions (which were usually closely contested by the defender), while other teams had guys open all over the field. And no, it's not just due to other teams have "superior talent" compared to the Bills.
  2. I mean, every team in the league should be copying (or stealing) their offensive schemes and plays if it'll get guys wide open all over the field. 😉
  3. So reading between the lines here, star players (like Mahomes) are more important than coaching. Sure, luck plays into it too. We saw what happened to NE and Bellichek when Brady left...and promptly picked up another Lombardi trophy with TB.
  4. I wonder how closely, and how often, the NFL examines the personal finances of their officials....or if they even do at all. Re your 3rd point: that's never going to happen because they need the $$$ of people who aren't really football fans. Just saw a blurb a little while ago that said more people tuned in to watch the halftime show than tuned in to watch the actual game action!
  5. Help me out with this. I saw virtually zero changes/adjustments as October, November, December, & January rolled on. Would devising different schemes, and calling different plays be "big changes?" I mean aren’t coaches (during the season) pretty much immersed in their work 24/7? Seems like there would be plenty of time to adjust things, and maybe even come up with something "new." H*ll, just go watch films of successful offenses (like the Chiefs) and steal their plays. It ain't brain surgery or rocket science out there.
  6. Yep, 100% spot on. Started the 2nd half of the Packer game, and continued downhill from there. And I apologize for beating a dead horse here. LOL
  7. I know you're being half serious here, but you're not that far off with this one. And it seems that, in some games, I have actually seen where the "guy in the booth upstairs" used his power to correct/overrule the refs down on the field (without the ref on the field stopping the game and going over to look at the monitor under the hood). It didn’t happen too often, but I'm pretty sure I've seen this guy upstairs get involved, and it was even in non-playoff, regular season games. My take would be to have a guy upstairs, like you describe, to definitely get involved in ALL close calls, and buzz the on field ref ASAP if need to be, to correct. Like you said, that guy should be part of the officiating crew, so there's never a need for the on field ref to go look at a tiny monitor. I surmise that currently, the guy upstairs is actually making the call, since he probably has a 65 inch monitor to see the play clearly, while the on field guy is looking at a what, 12 inch screen?
  8. I just watched this, and apparently they were not able to get the actual video from the game from Fox, but instead they showed a bunch of still photos, AND IN THOSE PHOTOS, NONE OF THEM SHOWED THE ACTUAL JERSEY HOLDING THEY KEPT REFERRING TO! LOL Yes, I have seen video of it though, and seen the momentary jersey grab by the CB, at full speed, and like many others, think that it should not have been called. JSS was not noticeably restrained. I can plainly see offensive players who are blocking...especially linemen and tight ends...grabbing jerseys EVERY...SINGLE...PLAY, of every single game. So like others are saying, it's done virtually ALL THE TIME.
  9. If pigs had wings, they could fly. If, if, if.... The OP's view *may* be correct, but of course there's no way to ever prove it. This thread is pointless.
  10. ALL performers at SB half time shows have been lip synching for decades now. I think it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, back in 2014, who came out and explained why they absolutely need to lip synch for the show....not enough time to do pre-show sound checks and make sure everything was connected correctly, and A-OK...becuase their fans were mad that they lip synched for the show. I assumed the latter is common knowledge, but I guess not.
  11. Pass Interference and Holding calls are the most subjective calls in the game, and different officiating crews can be wildy inconsistent on these calls. Sometimes, the same crew, in the same game, can be wildly inconsistent. This is nothing new, and has been this way in the NFL for decades. It's frustrating and very often unfair, and does lead to speculation that some games are fixed, but short of video reviewing every pass play, not sure what they can do about it.
  12. There's a fine line for how much *some* of the coaching staff can do. Obviously, HC, OC & DC are super important, but can a WR receivers coach really help a pro player....best players in the world....concentrate, and/or have "better hands?" I guess they could force them to catch hundreds of balls a day from a machine, but concentration (dropping balls) and route discipline is all on the player, I would think.
  13. C'mon man...they use MS Surface pads!!! 😂😉
  14. Good post, and good question. I guess after GoFme takes their cut, it'll be less than $10 million, but that's still a lot of dough. My educated guess is that just like in this Wilson story, some close friends of DH, as well as some family members, are going to be making some real nice bank "administering" the charity. And good for them.
  15. Wow, that was FAST! HEADLINE: Michael Irvin sues accuser, Marriott for $100 million over allegedly false accusation of misconduct Story can be found on Yahoo Sports page....had trouble linking it. From the story: "Rash and thoughtless actions can have severe consequences,” the lawsuit contends. “Marriott [parent company of Renaissance Hotels] apparently did not appreciate these simple truths when, in a rush to judgment, its employees and management inaccurately and inflammatorily accused Mr. Irvin of misconduct to the National Football League.” Per the lawsuits, eyewitnesses support Irvin’s contention that he “casually exchanged pleasantries” with the accuser — a hotel employee — “shook her hand, and went to his room alone.”
  16. Aren't charity organizations like this required to file annual tax returns? And wouldn't the latter reveal all the answers to the questions you posed in this post? Wilson should make public those tax returns ASAP, to show that everything is on the up & up. If he doesn’t, or won't release those tax returns, then Houston, we've got a problem! LOL
  17. I mean it's ALL just wild speculation by us and everyone else as to what really happened there, so my take is a valid as yours, I guess. Btw, you can't be "blacked out" and have a conversation, and then proceed to go up to your room. But like I said, if he was heavily inebriated, he may not be able to remember what he said, or even what he did that night. The encounter in question though was video recorded, so any "unwanted touching" should be easily discerned by watching the video.
  18. Or maybe he was so impaired that he was hitting on many women that night, and just forgot when & where the encounters took place? But like I said above, if no one was close enough to hear their conversation, it's a "he said, she said" situation.
  19. Should be an easy one to figure out. Stuff Im reading says that it was recorded on security cam video. So if it shows what Irvin said...that they just had a short conversation, and there was no unwanted/egregious contact, AND there were no eyewitnesses who heard the conversation (Im assuming that hotel lobby cams do not record audio), its a purely "he said, she said" situation, and Irvin is getting shafted. Btw, I don't watch or listen to any pregame, post game, or radio/tv sports talks shows, so I have no opinion on how good or bad Irvin is in that capacity.
  20. @Beck Water: Thank you for the post above. As most of America ages, and suffer adverse medical events, this info is sure to be helpful.
  21. Actually, I want to cheer against both of these teams. Both fan bases are arrogant & obnoxious & unbearable. LOL The lesser of 2 evils, I think, are the Chiefs, so I hope they win it. 😉
  22. This was discussed earlier in this thread, and some of us believe that it would be highly unlikely that they told the players of her exact condition. Just would be too hard to keep a lid on it in the latter case....wives, girlfriends, players family members, agents, etc might get told, and then for sure it would have leaked out. But who knows, maybe they told only a few "select" players...and that would also seem to be illogical, for it might cause exactly what you said here.
  23. If & when it gets to the point that she inherits the team, if I was in her shoes, I'd sell the team in a NY minute. The Bills have a $3.4 billion value right now, and that's likely to go up too. Gotta think that running/managing the Bills AND the Sabres is a LOT of work, and probably stressful too. And as somebody else mentioned earlier, there will be a large inheritance tax to be paid too. I'd sell, take the money and disappear, and live the life most people could only dream about. 😉
  24. This post insinuates that the players knew about her exact condition....I highly doubt it. Hope that she can fully recover some day. So sad, and at the same time, perplexing, to see this happen to a relatively young, vibrant, & healthy woman.
