Sorry, but your logic does not preclude any other Bills from getting injured for over 3 and a half quarters of football if they were to have played the rest of the game. The fact is the Bills didn't play over 3 and a half quarters of football. So not exactly a bye but they missed the vast majority of the game. The truth is they didn't play anywhere near to a full football game against Cinci. Is this the ideal outcome? No. but I think it's reasonable and choose to move on. Others can continue to feel victimized by it if that helps them process their emotions or get through the week.

Buffalo essentially had a bye week by not playing over 3 and a half quarters of football. Yes, we had a devastating injury but you're kidding yourself if you think other serious injuries couldn't have occurred with the time remaining. How would you feel if in the third quarter of that game Morse gets concussed again? Or Diggs gets a high ankle sprain? Or Milano gets hurt? It could have happened. Accept it and be glad we don't go to Arrowhead this post season. Life isn't fair. Move on.

Davis is cheap labor for 2023 but I really hope he's not given the number 2 job outright — I'd love to see someone brought in (draft in all likelihood as we don't have the bucks for a big free agent signing) and some real competition for the number two spot during offseason. Would McDermott choose to make a fourth-year player fight for his third-year roster spot?

I know you're being sarcastic but the point may be that after 3 years this is what we're gonna get. He's on a cheap contract next year but I don't know if the Bills extend him — or if they should. He needs to step it up. However, like with Edmunds, I'm not sure the age factor plays any more. After multiple years in the pros I think you're mostly seeing what a player is and will be. Yes, incremental progress is possible but I'm not holding out for significant improvement. I think we fell in love with an idea that Gabe can be dominant after the KC playoff game but it's now looking like an outlier and not close to what he is most Sundays.

This is Gabe's third year though.

It's not in their best interest to show the world and teams how they've slowed down. No player would willingly do this unless, early in their career, they did some speed training and improved their 40 time. But I think those guys are few and far between.
