Not gonna read through almost 30 pages on this but funny to see it blow up in sports media everywhere. I know it's not popular but like @Coach Tuesday I would not be surprised to see Beane apologize shortly. Even if he doesn't mean it, just for optics. I don't think the Bills organization likes the attention this has gotten.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

Good to know about his build. I personally would never want a 154 lb player unless he was the fastest and most elusive guy in the world. And even then... -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

Moore is under 5'10" and weighed 178 at the combine. He may have put on a few pounds of muscle since but I doubt he has the size to block at the level the team expects. Very curious. -
I guess it depends on your assessment of certain players. I'm no draft expert but guys I trust liked Royals and Horton who went much lower in the 4th and 5th and we're there for the Bills.
-
He used the word "B word" four times in a couple minutes. I know it's not 1950 and that word is semi-acceptable now but that shows at the very least he's quite annoyed. Not unhinged but upset. I think the fact that Beane and McD in the recent past (was this a talking point last off-season?) said we had to add more explosiveness to this offense and yet we never addressed that is the big point. Palmer has some verticality to his game and he separates but he's not explosive. Very, very few people were asking for a WR in the first three picks but there were guys that ticked that box and had good consensus grades there to be had in the fourth or even fifth rounds. It's not binary: you can go D heavy throughout most of the draft and still take a WR in the 4th or 5th. That's not unreasonable. That's what most critical fans are talking about.
-
But Samuel is not a vertical WR.
-
No WR in the 4th. Barring yet another trade up...
-
Disappointed about Thornton. And wrong about taking another DT.
-
I don't get the critiques that a mid-round guy can't just be big, fast and have a limited route tree. We've drafted rotational DTs in the third round for pete's sake. If a 6'5" receiver who can run 4.3 just runs flies and posts and we take him in the 4th, I'm damn good with that. You can teach route running; you can't teach those measurables. And even if the route running never improves, stretching the D is still valuable.
-
Get a speed WR, preferably one with size, and I'm happy with this draft.
-
Also remember Sanders is still only 21 years old and 6'4". He can still add mass to his frame.
-
With the 4 big picks we moved up 15 in the second and moved down only 10 to the top of the third. And we guaranteed getting the player Beane wants. That's fair. If you don't like the pick that's a separate issue.
-
As per @GunnerBill's thought that we did NOT LOSE 2 seconds... Look at it this way: 1. We moved up 15 spots from 56 to 41 2. We moved down 10 spots from 62 to 72. We lost one of our two fourths and got pick 240. That's not egregious at all to go up 15 spots. We only move down 10 with our second 2nd-rounder.

I'm aligned with you except for 2026: I think/hope they let him walk, get a comp, and draft a low-cost replacement. I think Cook is very good but far from irreplaceable, and his $12 to $15 million can be better spent elsewhere when you're paying a franchise quarterback. In a world with no cap, I'd say pay him what he wants, but paying one position more means paying another less, and I don't think RBS are that hard to replace.

I asked ChatGPT to Mock Round 1 - and the Bills select…
Nephilim17 replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It just aggregates content that's out there. I highly doubt AI is forming its own opinions on whom the Bills should pick. I've seen results from AI that are impressive (at times) and also flat-out incorrect. It's a tool, and often a tool that should be flushed. -
Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
Nephilim17 replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not thrilled but I suppose it's relatively cheap insurance. I don't expect Tre to start if we draft a CB in the first couple rounds (which I expect) but if he's making $2 million before hitting incentives it's not a big deal. -
Turning 32 in August, coming off a torn Achilles. No thanks. \ We might as well call Tre White if we want old guys with a torn Achilles.

Using all three of our top picks on Epenesa-level athletes.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Nephilim17 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Apologies if posted, but I have not seen this after a search and I think it will please some, including myself: "Per source, the Bills have held a private workout and multiple Zooms with Tennessee WR Dont’e Thornton," Talbot says. "He’s had great conversations with the team. The Volunteers WR has blazing speed (4.3) and elite size (6’5”). He’s a true downfield threat (21.9 YPC)." https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nfl/buffalo-bills/news/report-bills-very-interested-star-receiver-incredible-speed-donte-thornton-nfl-draft/059a5a5a2d3d60dfc3e19584 -
Anything's a possibility but it all hinges on how the draft plays out and Beane's board. You don't necessarily go into a draft saying, "We need four second-rounders," because you don't know who will be there and who will be gone when the Bills' first-round pick comes up. It's a possibility later on, not a must-do right now.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Nephilim17 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd love the Bills to take a chance on mid-round size/speed guy who is still developing. Horton just gobbles up the turf with those long strides. Looks like a better route runner than Dont'e Thornton who is even bigger and faster and a good blocker but doesn't seem to have much of a route tree — yet. I'd love to take a chance on either guy. We burned a 3rd round pick last year on a backup DT; take a chance on a WR with size and speed this year. -
Ok, this should get some flames: I think Cook is relatively easy to replace and last year was his career year — he's not gonna get close to 16 TDs ever again. He's good, just not great and if he leaves, no big deal.

The cost would be nuts.
