  1. This game is embarrassing for both teams.
  2. Was a coach and commissioner for our little league football organization. We were fortunate to get Roland Hooks to speak at our banquet. He was very kind and gracious. He interacted with the kids wonderfully. A very nice gentleman.
  3. Used to love the tight end screen Kelly would run with Metzlars. Kelly would roll out to his right and get the entire defense moving in that direction and then throw back to the left to Metzlars. Always good for a nice gain. Haven’t seen us use that since.
  4. Kay and his staff actually had some great drafts which helped the team for future years. They drafted Jim Kelly and Darryl Talley in 1983, 1984 Greg Bell and John Kidd and in 1985 Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, Hal Garner, and Ron Pitts.
  5. Regardless of what Tua said or a doctor's evaluation, just based off of what everyone saw you do not put him back in that game if you, as a team "leader" (coach) have one ounce of care or compassion for that individual's well being. True strong leaders make that decision and it sends the proper message to the team and the league.
  6. Makes me think back to Robert Griffith and Shanahan was coaching them. Griffith couldn’t stand up from the beating he was taking, but Shanahan kept putting him back in the game. Basically ruined his career.
  7. The effects from concussions are cumulative. When he returns he will be subject to many more hits. There is a good possibility that he starts bailing early on his throws. I would not blame him. When he went down in the Bills game, regardless of the sham evaluation by the medical staff, you do not put him back in that game if you had one ounce of caring for that individual’s well being. The Dolphins organization is a joke.
  8. So coach says only a concussion, nothing else. Wow! Say what they want but he has had two concussions in 4 days. That does not bode well for the long term. When he returns he will be subject to many more hits and any further head trauma will be cumulative. There is a possibility he will start bailing early on his throws. I wouldn’t blame him. That staff is unbelievable.
  9. I think it all depends on our ability to contain Jackson and his scrambling.
  10. What about the officials not agreeing on where to spot the ball after Moss’s run, but did nothing to reset the play clock, forcing us to waste a timeout that we could have used at the end of the game? That was brutal!
  11. We left way too many points on the field yesterday. I estimate a possible 20 points.
  12. Another coaching error came on the 3rd and 22 play where we only rushed 3 and dropped everyone else into coverage. Terrible call in that situation. Need to make Tua uncomfortable and they didn't. He had way too much time on that play.
  13. I remember a game in 1975 against the Phins where a Miami fumble, late in a close game, went between the legs of an official. Pat Toomay, who the Bills picked up in the offseason from Dallas, went to retrieve the ball and knocked the official over as the ball was rolling between the official’s legs. Toomay recovered the fumble but was flagged for contacting an official. It cost us the game and the losing streak to Miami would have ended. One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen.
  14. The run to the outside where Benford fought off his blocker and tackled Henry for a loss was an amazing play for any db. I have high hopes for both our rookie corners. We will learn much more this Sunday.
  15. You can call the perfect defense and Josh can still fire a laser that beats the coverage or he can beat you with his legs and brains. He does a tremendous job making decisions based off of defensive reactions and can change any play while it is developing on the field. The only hope DC’s have is that Josh makes a mistake. Of course that is for only one play. Josh is amazing and we are blessed to have him. Go Bills!!
  16. That also was with Mahomes as his quarterback. He could buy time for Hill to get open and fire it to him. Tua? Not so much.
  17. Just make Tua uncomfortable and hurry his throws. They will not keep up with our offense.
  18. Wishing Dane the best and keep him in our prayers.
  19. I totally agree. Our defense is as solid and as savvy (both coaching and veterans) as any in the league. And we have one thing none of the other teams do. We have Josh!! Go Bills!!
  20. Ravens/Fins to start. I think Cards/Raiders for the later game.
  21. Josh is a much better decision maker and also gives defenses fits trying to figure him out. Something Mahomes does almost as well, but Herbert does not.
  22. I agree 100%. The offensive play calling for the Chargers was horrendous the whole game. Neither of these teams keep pace with us.
  23. Saw an interesting stat that the Cards blitzed Mahomes on 54% of his drop backs and he burned them. Fortunately we have a defensive front four that can create all the pressure needed and drop 7 in coverage. That is the best way to beat Mahomes. Beane and McDermott have built this team with that in mind and have done a great job.
  24. It’s always interesting to assess the first few weeks of the season to try to determine how the off season affected each team. We all know, however, that a lot will change by weeks 6-8. See how teams react to their starts and who makes the proper moves and adjustments.
  25. Lamar is not going to bring his team from being down two scores in the 4th quarter. He can play with a lead and in close games. I think the Ravens believe this also. He can be dynamic as it showed in his MVP season, but once teams game planned for his style his effectiveness diminished. Huntley actually played well for them when Jackson went down. And Hollywood Brown probably left to hopefully find a qb that could highlight his skill set. I agree with some of the other posters that his time in Baltimore will be coming to an end, whether through free agency or trade.
