  1. I'm still not convinced at all that a guy who's already considered to be a top 5 talent is somehow going to fall in our laps at 27 like it's divine intervention or something. I see more and more mocks having us get him, but I still don't understand the how part. What am I missing here? I get he's a RB, but several teams ahead of us need one and if he's that great why would they turn him down, but he's considered a must for us?
  2. Getting an O-line that can actually block will go a long way there.
  3. I'll take either one. From what I heard, Frazier's contract was up this year, so they signed a 1 year extension or something of the sort if he might be done after next year.
  4. Trade ups happen when they have a specific positional player they're going after. In this draft, I don't know as we have that scenario. Unless he's specifically chasing someone like Robinson and doesn't expect him to fall to us at #27, I don't really see it happening. I don't know as Beane sees RB as a vital need here and if going for BPA, that typically happens at your normal draft position. I don't think you historically see a lot of BPA picks come from a trade up vs a pick at the normal draft position.
  5. We don't really have an OLB. We run a 4-2-5 base and Edmunds and MIlano both usually line up directly behind the D-Line. We'd actually be paying Edmunds more up front than Smith with that scenario and the numbers we were discussing. Makes sense to me if he'll sign something like that with an out after a few years.
  6. I could go for that. The out is a must though. If his play isn't rising, we need to be able to get out from under that contract. His current production just doesn't justify the $16M to $20M per he may be hoping for IMO.
  7. Rumor is he wants to stay in Buffalo. We'll see what he values more. I don't blame him if he leaves to take a much better deal elsewhere, but he also shouldn't expect the Bills to match and overpay. Milano is the all-pro between the two of them, so if he really wants to stay here, he should accept the Milano deal adjusted for inflation, so around $12M per at the most.
  8. They should offer him what we gave Milano ($11M per) and let's say $12M with inflation. Take it or leave it.
  9. When you compare the production we get from each, I don't see how Oliver is worth $10M and Edmunds is not worth $11M (the Milano deal) if we can re-sign him for that (let's say $12M with inflation). If there's anyone who's not living up to what they're making right now, it's Oliver. Edmunds (13 games in 2022) 102 tackles (66 solo), 1 sack, 1 INT, 7 pass defenses, 8.5 stuffs. Oliver (13 games in 2022) 34 tackles (20 solo), 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 recovery, 3 pass defenses, 8.5 stuffs.
  10. Tre's dead cap is $23M. Makes no sense to try and trade him. Who is going to want to pay his salary anyway if he's not the same player?
  11. At a minimum, they need to draft a G and T and then have a good training camp fight to determine who starts. I don't care about rookies vs vets. May the best man win.
  12. The only game I remember Oliver playing well was against Detriot, against backup lineman. Ed gets pushed around and can't shed blocks against the run. He's a liability there. I don't trust him to even be in there unless it's on obvious passing downs. Edmunds is way more consistent than Ed. Ed is basically getting paid $10M to be a situational player. Edmunds plays every down.
  13. In a year where we have many holes to fill, giving draft picks away would be a collosal mistake.
  14. I would trade Oliver and offer Edmunds the same deal we gave Milano with some added interest. Take it or leave it.
  15. Has to be last season (2021). He was playing like a man possessed. He literally put this entire team on his back in the KC game and willed them to take the lead with almost no time left. The team was peaking at the right time and had it not been for a massive coaching collapse, that was probably our best shot at a title since SB 25 against the g-men.
  16. We don't need to spend $15M on a guy to do that.
  17. See that's the thing...if we get a legit O-Line and a receiving corp with legit weapons other than Diggs there's no reason we shouldn't expect a backup to be able to have success with those weapons too. The fact we see no hope of winning if Josh is out just shows how much those areas really are lacking and how much Josh carries this offense.
  18. If we could afford him, I'd take him, but not sitting the greatest with the cap right now with a lot of holes to fill.
  19. I know this, but the cologne is cheap and nasty, lol.
  20. So you can't. Gotcha. No O-Line, no effective running game. This isn't rocket science.
  21. Name me all the teams with a great run game that have an O-line ranked in the bottom quarter of the league.
  22. If Beane and Dorsey don't get on the same page, this draft could turn out to be a real s*** show.
  23. Once again, making the incorrect assumption that Cook was drafted with the expectations he would immediately be this elite back who should take over the league on Day 1. Cook was drafted because the McKissic deal fell through. Unless you're going to try to make the claim McKissic was being brought in to be our every down feature back, you're obviously way off base.
  24. He's probably going to want at $15M per and may very well want a multiyear deal. That's exactly what we can't have and Beane has said as much for next season. Signing high priced FA's is not a sustainable or a wise model for building a team. The Bills need to develop players through the draft that are on rookie contracts.
