If the passing game looks like it has, especially in the last 3 weeks in particular, not good. I think the Chiefs are going to make a point of stopping the run and forcing Josh to beat them. I foresee lots of man coverage with a single high safety with Spags bringing many different blitz looks. Josh and the Oline handled the blitz terribly against the Falcons. The defense, which looked like hot garbage in the first half that game tightened up in the 2nd half and the offense still couldn't get it done. Cook was inexplicably not in the game for most of the 4Q even with it still being a one score game. Brady claims they can throw it when they need to and used Week 1 as his supporting evidence despite the 2 much more recent losses contradicting that.

The root cause is whether the refs decide to call it or not because some form of holding happens on nearly every play. This just tells me the refs choose to call it more on the Bills for some reason.

Yeah, doubt a new GM is going to agree to have to keep a HC that he potentially doesn't see eye-to-eye with and have his own performance at least partially judged by that HC's performance. If Beane goes, I can't really see McD still being here. Which is crazy to think about since if that time does come, we're potentially going to have both a new HC and GM again. That's another house cleaning.

Some observations and questions regarding the Bills passing game.

Probably exactly what you see from Spags next week combined with different blitz packages to put even more pressure on Josh. The Falcons' blitzes gave Josh and the oline problems. Expect that from KC in spades. -

Basically every receiver not named Shakir is a problem. We need a true X receiver and while Palmer is serviceable, he's still not the answer and with him injured it's moot anyway. Keon is a big slot guy and nobody will convince me otherwise. Trying to put him on the outside doesnt work and the proof is in the pudding. It's trying to put a square peg in a round hole. -
It’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation about Taron

TBF, it's not just TJ either. Even Benford, who we just paid, hasn't looked good. In man coverage, they're all a couple steps behind and can't close on the ball. Our entire secondary just looks slow. That's what Max brings to the group that's lacking...closing speed. You don't see a lot of PDs from our secondary for a reason. -

Which is also why I hate the play. Especially when it can often result in the WR getting clobbered all for a couple yards. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. -
Jags listening to trade calls for Brian Thomas

I'd do it. Our first picks have basically almost been like 2nd round picks anyway given where we pick year after year and given the lack of success with ours in recent years, I don't see it as giving up a ton when it addresses a clear and present need for this team. -

Carolina knew the game was over. They weren't playing with any urgency or intensity in the 4Q. We were running it down their throat because we had that luxury this game. What happens in games we don't against good teams? On paper, this WR room should've been at least on par with last year or better. It's not. It's bottom tier in the league. Nobody is doing much of anything other than Shakir. We're actually missing Mack Hollins. He made lots of big catches for us. -

True, but it was garbage time when Mitch was in. Tough to compare the two. Against teams like KC, having nobody the D has to respect on the outside is a problem. -

Still hoping Beane pulls the trigger on a trade for WR. Cook looks fantastic as usual but receivers still struggling to separate and Josh looks frustrated. Moore is terrible and I doubt he's playing on most other teams. With Palmer out, we really have nothing on the outside. -

Davis doesn't look like the same guy from last year and they really aren't using Ty like they did last year either.
