Will there be any shock organizational moves in the coming days/weeks?
Billz4ever replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doubt we see any big changes on the coaching staff or rest of the FO although I think we should probably replace Smiley. There will surely be some changes to the roster. I hope the break with Von and hoping they aren't thinking about re-signing Douglas. I'm kinda mad they picked up Rousseau's option at this point and unless he has a standout season, I'm letting him walk after this season. Absolute no-show against KC. -
Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean that's really being a genius of the obvious. Spags loves sending pressure. It's not so much they were going to blitz, it's where the blitz was going to come from and that's the key. The Bills has protection left because as Torrence said, most of the game they were sending pressure from where it didn't look like pressure was coming pre-snap and backing off the guys who did show pressure. On the 4th down, they were showing pressure from the right, so that was their reasoning to have protection set left. Call it an error, call it a WAG, call it a decision based on the tendencies they saw basically all game. It was a great defensive call for the play the offense ran. -
good comments from Bills players in this new Athletic piece

As much film as they watched, they somehow forgot to be able to contain on the edge. On all the Mahomes runs, no spy and no contain from the edge. Yeah, I'm looking at you Groot. -

No point keeping Von on the roster at this point. He's only a passing down edge rusher as it is and hasn't been great at that anyway. Make a clean break, move on from that mistake and as this team loves to say, "learn from it" and stop giving long term deals to guys on the wrong side of 30. -
I've got faith that Solomon will continue to get better. The knock on him is he's short, but he's high motor with a great first step and can fly around the edge. Because of his size, he can get swallowed up by a big OT who can stay ahead of him, but he is often able to compensate with his speed and bend. Not really an every down edge rusher, but certainly worth having in there in passing situations in our rotation to create some pressure that has been missing from our front 4 so often.

That could also potentially cause a tear in the space-time continuum. Almost like dividing by zero.

Totally agree. No reason for RB1 to not be out there in that situation. Cook might not have the hands Ty has, but he's still a threat to catch the ball and if nothing else, the Chiefs have to respect he's back there and account for him. Also, IMO he or whatever back is in there should be a check down option for Josh on basically every pass play. A simple toss out to a back in the flat is one of the easiest ways to beat a blitz. Going empty on the 4th down made it even easier to send heat and get in Josh's face.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
What Josh does within the confines of this offense is repeatable and he does it often. When a play breaks down, he creates, which is what the other 3 QBs in the final 4 do, and is the why QB position is evolving. In the game of football, not everything always goes as planned and when that happens, you need a QB who can create or else you only have a robot for a QB who can't improvise when a play doesn't go as it was drawn up. -

It already has. If what you said was still the best, than the QBs in the final 4 wouldn't be there and the likely MVP wouldn't be the MVP. -

Mahomes isn't a 3 to 4 step and fire QB. Neither are any of the QBs in the Championship games. The QB likely to win his 3rd MVP this year is more like Allen than Brady. The QB position is evolving and that's a plain and simple fact. -

Sorry, but the QB going for the first ever 3 peat in NFL history is more like Josh Allen than Tom Brady. When a play breaks down, he moves around, gets out of the pocket and will take off if that's the best option. Hate to tell you, but literally all the QBs that played in the two conference championship games are more like Josh Allen than Tom Brady and the QB who will win the Super Bowl this year, whether it's Mahomes or Hurts, is more like Allen than Brady. -

Josh has to operate in the offense the team runs. If there's no play there he does what he does and creates. He rarely turned the ball over this year and rarely took sacks. I really don't know what you're expecting him to do. -

Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn't have to be repeatable. Just has to be enough to keep a drive alive. That's what Josh did there on 4th down and I've honestly never seen so many people wanting to blame a QB for a receiver dropping a very catchable ball. -

I mean the drive did end when that ball hit the ground rather than him catching it so, I think my frustrations are mainly in the right place. I couldn't care less if Josh called the wrong protection and threw the ball while standing on his head. Kincaid dropped the ball, which is an incomplete pass that created a turnover on downs. THAT is what essentially ended the game minus the D giving up the first down. -

I'm more frustrated Kincaid dropped a ball he should've caught on 4th down. -

Kincaid dropping the ball and it being an incomplete pass cost of us game unless you want to also let the D share the blame since they couldn't prevent a first down that allowed KC to kill the clock. Dang right he should've and there's been other video angles of it posted here that show just how open he was and how terrible of an adjustment he made to it. Next season is make or break for that guy. Totally underachieved this season. -

And in the end, Kincaid dropped a ball an NFL receiver should've had. -

Yep, and as Torrence said they kept it left based on what the Defense was showing the rest of the night. Kincaid dropped the ball. -

You think Ravens fans are focused on anything that happened on the failed 2 pt try except the Andrews drop? And Torrence explained why they had it left. If Josh had the protection to the right and the blitz had instead come from the left like it had before, are we still doing this? Kincaid dropped the ball. -

Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I swear you're focused on the weirdest things. You act like Kincaid didn't actually drop a ball he 100% should've caught that would've moved the chains and put us in FG range with over a minute to go with timeouts in-hand. -
Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
And in the end, Kincaid dropped the ball, which could've happened had the protection been perfect. It's largely irrelevant. If a ball hits a receiver in the hands, the last thing I'm worried about was the protection called on the play. Allen beat the blitz like he's done countless times and got the throw off. The ball was thrown to a spot where an NFL receiver should've been able to make a play. He didn't. End of story. -

Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or maybe even better, have the back there off Josh's right and if they come, Josh tosses it right over their heads to a wide open back who has nothing but daylight ahead of him. It's all hindsight at this point, and in the end Kincaid should've caught the ball. Just more things to stew on over this offseason. When fans try and dissect plays as much as we are and think about the "what could've beens" you've got to wonder how much it eats at the players who were actually there living it. -

Teams show fake pressure all the time and back out of it. Our D does it a lot. You don't see the other team calling T.O. just because we show pressure. The Chiefs literally did that in that play. Bolton showed blitz up the middle and backed out into coverage. And just FYI, Josh routinely faces plays where the defense sends more rushers than they have blockers. Josh probably has a handful of touchdowns and a lot of first downs if you want to go back and analyze the film of Josh Allen against the Blitz this season. -
OK, so if that's the case, you can't blame the team. That would be on the player and if the INC is that easy to fool, they need better tests. I don't think it's as simple as the player telling them they're fine. They have very specific testing they do that would be hard to fake if you're still legitimately concussed.
