  1. Is coaching talent not just as much a part of the game as physical talent and is a factor included in the evaluation of a team's overall talent level? Do you think the Bills would've been basically unanimous favorites coming into this season if those people making those calls though our coaching staff were a bunch of idiots? It's all factored into that grade. The Bills were also dominated at the LOS on both sides of the ball. When the Cincy defenders were getting pressure with just a 4 or even a 3-man rush, that's more than just getting out coached. There's physical talent involved there. When our defensive line is getting blown off the ball and we can't stop the run even when we know they're running it, that's not just being out coached. There's a physical talent factor there. Ditto with not being able to get pressure on the opposing QB. As McD said, this game starts with the trenches and when you are losing that battle badly on both sides of the ball, it's not just coaching.
  2. Good post. Use the regular season for what it's for...to punch your ticket to the post season. Play your best and get the highest seed possible because the higher the seed, the better the perks, but never confuse regular season success with any guarantee of anything in the postseason. The 16-0 Patriots didn't win a championship. If they fall short of their expectations in the postseason, try and determine why they did, factor in (like they have to with Cincy) what weaknesses were exposed and try to correct those things to the best of their ability. Cincy and KC aren't going away, and we've got other teams not far behind who are looking to knock us off the top of the division.
  3. LMAO, whatever that's supposed to mean. I think you're wound a little too tight there, fella.
  4. I think Cincy laid bare the problems this team has on both sides of the ball. It all comes out in the wash regardless because it would all come down to playing them or KC to win the Conference anyway. Those teams were still going to be there standing in our way regardless. I think that we need to come to the realization that we aren't the most talented team. We are a very talented team, but not the most talented. We just got thoroughly beaten by a more talented team and it showed. If Miller and Hyde were on the field in that game, would they have been a factor? Probably, but I think we still lose. We were getting dominated at the LOS on both sides of the ball and I don't think Miller or Hyde changes that. I don't recall ever seeing the hype around this team going into the season essentially as unanimous SB favorites and frankly, I don't like it. Yes, it gets them talked about relentlessly on the sports opinion shows, but I rather us get less mention, be low key, and just go on with taking care of business. It's all just added pressure they don't need and just leads to a bigger letdown when it doesn't happen. We'll never know about what might have been, because that's how this game and life in general works. All you can do is take what you have and do your best with that. Unfortunately for the Bills, their best this year wasn't enough. Now we are at the point where they try to figure out what went wrong and try to make the right improvements so they can hopefully take it to the next level next season. We all have our opinions on how that should be done, but in the end, the organization needs to figure that out for themselves and do what they think is right and what that looks like, just like they do at the end of every season.
  5. It's not about the past. I don't speak for everyone, but I'm sure the majority of Bills fans are incredibly grateful for what he's done for this organization and how he was able to bring us back into postseason contention from the depths we were for so many seasons. The question we must ask ourselves now is do we think he's the guy that can get us to the promised land based on what we've seen the last few seasons. If you still think he can, go with that. Some people have a different take seeing as how we're going in the wrong direction in the post season. Reaching the AFCCG and then getting bounced in the Divisional round two consecutive years now, this year being in particularly embarrassing fashion, leads some people to the conclusion that he's taken this organization as far as he can.
  6. I actually get a kick out of some of the things he tweets and I think a lot of it is just for the clicks and the attention. This one is an extremely bad take though as you said.
  7. I'd be willing to give him the deal we gave Milano. I think he's earned that. I think he knows he can get a lot more on the open market and think that's what he's going to want. Can't really blame him. He's getting what he thinks he can get. I think that's a little beyond what we should be doing.
  8. That's why I'm very reluctant to get into a long-term contract with Edmunds that's in the $15M to $20M per year range. Having that kind of money tied up in 3 players on the defensive side of the ball is a hard pill to swallow.
  9. Support whomever you want. That's your right and my tweet isn't meant to be a critique of the former President at all. It was simply to add context to who these people are who are saying these wacky things about Damar and what they've said in the past.
  10. Not trying to bring politics into this, just trying to add a little context to what we're looking at with those tweets... They are the same Q nuts who were claiming the former president was going to be reinstated. Take that for what it's worth.
  11. OK, fella. Enjoy. I'm done with the annual "we need a new RB" discussion that happens at the end of every season. Be sure to let me know when that happens.
  12. I don't have an obsession with Cook and I'm also not so ignorant as to call him a bust like you did.
  13. I'm sure Beane already had the things we're talking about now (like restructuring) for this offseason prepped and ready to go last season. These GMs are always planning several seasons down the road. Obviously, he has no idea what the cap will actually be years in advance, but he can make educated projections from what he's hearing, and base what he's going to have to work with off of that. People need not freak out over what our cap numbers look like in future seasons based on the cap for the current season. We may question some of the draft picks this team has made, but one thing I'm very confident in Beane in is with managing the numbers.
  14. Good luck with your obsession with running backs and thinking that's the glaring issue with this offense. I have a feeling you're not going to be happy with this offseason.
  15. You're sounding like you don't even watch this team.
  16. No we won't because that's not Dorsey's style. Are you bros with Dorsey and he told you this in private? Have you ever watched a Dorsey presser? He's always asked about running the ball and he thinks they are running the correct amount.
  17. If you haven't noticed, we don't run the ball much, so trying to compare us to a different team is literally apples and oranges. To waste high draft capital on that again this year, when the glaring needs are the line and a legit target opposite Diggs is insane. It's incredible that there's people whose big takeaway from the drubbing we just took is that we need to draft a RB.
  18. Frazier is still calling the D. It's far too predictable and far too conservative.
  19. I don't get where these calls to spend a high draft pick on a RB or splurge on a FA RB are coming from. Improve the line, our run game improves along with it. IMO, Cook showed good progression all season once he started getting some decent snaps. Our glaring need is clearly WR2 and the O-line. If we don't fix those, who's in the backfield makes little difference. LMAO, crazy isn't it.
  20. Cook's proven incapable of what? The guy has shown steady progression all year once he finally started getting some playing time. See what's going on with Diggs right now? None of that changes unless we get someone who can legit take some attention away from him on the other side. WR2 and the O-line is the highest priority unless you like seeing Diggs blanketed, Davis dropping balls, Josh running for his life, and a lack of openings for our backs. You never had one apparently.
  21. Cook was a 2nd round pick, who showed good progression all year the more playing time he got. To throw another high pick at a RB, when the glaring needs on this offense are WR2 and OL is not wise. The line gets better, Cook also gets better. It doesn't matter who you're putting in the backfield if the blocking isn't there. Any RB that's back there is being setup to fail without decent blocking.
  22. No RB we put back there is going to dazzle until we fix the O-line. We need a legit WR2 and to fix this line. Cook is capable of being our feature back in this style of offense if we can finally get some good blocking rather than having running plays blown up in the backfield.
  23. No, no, and no. There is no justifying taking a RB in this draft, when the glaring needs on offense are clearly WR2 and the OL. Drafting another RB when we drafted a very capable one in the second round last year, who made clear progress this season and will be even better next season with some better blocking in front of him, would be a complete waste of a pick.
  24. Why would we draft a RB over a WR? We do not have a legit WR2 right now and that's hurting our WR1. This draft should be WR and OL exclusively. We fix those and we take some attention off Diggs, give Josh time to throw, and actually open holes for Cook, who is capable of being our feature back, especially if he adds some weight this off-season. What? LMAO
