I can't believe he was even on our roster.

Buscaglia: Both Bills Coordinators are likely to be back in 2023
Billz4ever replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
And our defense couldn't stop anything. The final score wasn't indicative of how bad we got our butts whipped. Cincy hangs 40 on us easy if they don't let off the gas. They knew we couldn't score, so they had no reason to push hard in the second half once they went up 27-10. -
Yeah, just like Beane said anyday now Gabe is going to turn into this great WR2 he was supposed to be this season. I've defended Beane, but more and more lately it seems like he just another one of those guys that talks a good game, but really has no clue what he's talking about.

Z.E.R.O. accountability. N.O.N.E. -
So the safeties coach is the sacrificial lamb for this season when one our safeties has been out almost all season and the other has been battling injuries all season? Hardly the answer for this team's defensive coaching woes.

Which one was worse ? 13 seconds or Cinci fail ?
Billz4ever replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year was different. Our offense was on fire and Josh was playing like a man possessed. Neither NE or the Chiefs could stop us. That game is much different than this year's. -
I'm going to call it the "out of gas" game since that was the prominent excuse I heard for it, even by players.

Still blows my mind. They could've literally gone up and bearhugged the receivers at the line on the first play, taken the 5-yard penalty and left them with 1 play that would've probably had to been some gadget play to pick up 35 yards. -

Offensively, we were on fire that postseason. Josh was playing like a man possessed and we had our ticket punched to the AFCCG until some coaches that are supposed to be NFL-level defensive minded coaches couldn't figure out how to burn :13 second off the clock without allowing the other team to go 40 yards. -

Yep, I actually felt relieved after Sunday. No heartbreaking plays at the end that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. -

What? LMAO, we basically had our ticket punched to the AFCCG in :13 seconds and it was ripped away at the last second because of stupidity. We simply got our butts whipped against Cincy. -
Frank Reich named new Head Coach of Panthers
Billz4ever replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you happened to listen to Beane's and McD's pressers, the takeaway for me regarding Dorsey was that his job is safe. That's just my opinion based on what they said, but that's the feeling I got from both. -

13 seconds waaaay worse. A high school coach could've burnt 13 seconds without them scoring. -

I'll even come up from Florida to help him pack. I honestly don't think they are going to talk to anyone. All indications I've seen are that Dorsey's job is safe for at least another year. We might make a move with DC, but not likely with the OC. -
Sanders had 3 straight at least 1K with Denver and had 101 catches in 2014. Besides being faster than Sanders, he's also got 3 inches in height on him too. I like guys that can go up and get the ball. For Gabe Davis' height (who's also 6' 2"), he never seems to go up for the ball. He always waits for the ball to come to him, which allows smaller DBs to get a hand in there and break it up. Receivers are taught to catch balls at the highest point they are able, but Gabe never does it.
-
Over Gabe's last 7 games of the season, he averaged 3 catches and less than 42 yards per game. No bueno for a WR2 on any team in this league, nevermind one that passes as much as we do and the expectations he had this season.
-
Yeah, the "Pray Josh can create on the fly" is not any offensive scheme I've ever heard of, but we made it one this year for sure.
-
The fact they felt the need to pull Beas and Smoke out of retirement because the guys not named Diggs were underperforming certainly screams we need more talent there. Not to say Dorsey's play design and play calling don't leave a lot to be desired, but a true WR2 we most certainly need.
-
I like Rice a lot. That size combined with that kind of speed are often rare finds. The knock on him is drops and with what we say from Davis this season, I don't want to replace our WR2 just to replace him with another guy that can't hang onto it.

Mel Kiper is back and you won’t like it
Billz4ever replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been a defender of Beane since he got here. I know this is Kiper, and he is quite often wrong, but if this somehow turns out to be true, I'm done defending him. -
Michael Thomas or Odell Beckham Jr.?
Billz4ever replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
Teams don't respect any of our WRs besides Diggs. They will roll coverage towards Diggs. This is a problem. Cincy had open receivers because of our zone and it's inability to react quick enough to their routes, especially with the field conditions in that game. Cincy was throwing the ball with ease before they ever even tried to establish the run. Gabe Davis is not a true WR2. His numbers are more in line with Cincy's WR3, Boyd. If this team does not address the OL and get a legit W2 to take some attention off Diggs, nothing will change and it won't make a bit of difference who's in the backfield. Beane also made it pretty clear there's not going to be any big splash free agent signings like Von with our cap situation, so signing Barkley is not very likely at all. -
Are you a fan of the constant rotation or would you rather see the better guys out there for more plays?
-
Cameron Brate possible cut, should we sign him?
Billz4ever replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall
The hype was real on that one too. We were sold the idea having both him and Knox out there as double threat on top of Diggs and Davis would be a nightmare for DCs. -
It just seems like we've spent year after year pumping more and more into this DL at the expense of the offense, with little to show for it, while other teams are markedly better in that respect, with lesser investment overall and I'm far from convinced just getting a healthy Jones and Von back next year changes the problems we have on the line and the defense overall.
-
I agree with that completely. Watching our lines on both sides of the ball just get abused by Cincy was tough to watch. My question is with how many resources this org has poured into the DL and how many we carry on the roster, how is it they are getting manhandled by a team missing 3 out of 5 OL starters? Are we just that bad at evaluating talent? I get we were without Von, Jones, and Phillips was playing with one arm, but is anything different that game even if those guys are 100%? I don't think so.
