  1. And I believe Tampa gets a comp pick for that too. Incredible.
  2. Part of being able to run an effective screen game is being able to sell it. You would think that the few times we actually do try screens, they'd catch the defense off guard. Nope, they don't fool anyone and don't ever gain much of anything.
  3. Excellent. For the weapons we do have, Dorsey doesn't seem to understand how to use them. I'm not going to rehash what you already fantastically covered regarding Cook and Hines, but people here will literally try and convince you that Cook is somehow a "bust" . I don't know what this evaluation is based on because it's certainly not based on reality. He averaged 5.7 YPC behind this not-so-great line...give me more of that "bust"! Besides the underutilization of the RBs, the slot WR all but disappeared. From what I heard, Josh asked for Beas to be brought back by name. Then, he's almost never used. Whether it was Crowder, McK, Shakir, or Beas, the slot was non-existent this year. I just don't get it. The slot was one of Josh's favorite targets in recent years and was often his go-to when he was forced to scramble out of the pocket. This year was a huge departure from that. I think everyone was onboard hiring a rookie OC because we all thought he would just be a carryover of Daboll and the offense wouldn't skip a beat. As this season progressed, we found out that wasn't the case and things looked very different at times. Whether it was abandoning the run all together it seemed at times, or just strange play calls given the down and distance, this was a big point of frustration to many Bills fans who didn't understand how Dorsey used the word "balance" when describing how he runs the offense when abandoning the run is anything but "balanced". While many different factors can and do play into a QB throwing an INT, I don't think this can be ignored. Does this happen if Dabs is still calling the offense? While you can't say no with any certainty, you have to examine why Josh had what is basically a "first to worst" fall here. It seems Josh is prone to sometimes falling into a "hero ball" mindset, where he starts trying to force balls into tight coverages that he wouldn't normally try. It also seems as though Dorsey's playcalling at times almost feeds some of Josh's bad habits. Josh wasn't immune to this happening under Dabs, but it seems Dabs had the ability to reel Josh back in when he got in that state and get him to refocus. I'm just not seeing that with Dorsey. This isn't meant to be just a bash Dorsey post, especially when we're talking about a guy coming off his first season of play calling and since it appears Dorsey's job is safe from what's been said at this point, I only hope they can take a step back and look at what changed from previous years to this year, learn from that, and get back to plays Josh has had great success with vs putting him into situations where he either panics or feels the need to engage "hero mode".
  4. Seeing some of the names we've passed up over the years to draft who we did is just downright depressing at times.
  5. The strange part is that at the beginning of the season, it didn't seem like that. If Josh went deep, good chance it was one-on-one coverage and the receiver had steps on the DB. As the season progressed though, it started feeling like Josh was trying to force the ball into coverage much more often, relying on his arm strength trying to thread the needle and rifle the ball into a window that just wasn't there. It's like he was having a relapse and couldn't resist the urge.
  6. This is true, but I also think Dorsey's playcalling plays into that. Just a year prior under Daboll, Beasley was one of Josh's favorite targets. This year, whether it was Crowder, McK, Shakir, or even Beas when Beane brought him back, seems the looks to the slot receiver were next to nothing. If Daboll were still running the offense, I just don't see that as the case.
  7. Agree with all. The biggest thing to me more than anything is we need consistency out of that position and Gabe is anything but. If we are truly trying to get a guy there that will pull some attention off of Diggs, it has to be someone that other team's actually have to worry about. Even with Gabe's big play capability, I don't think teams really worried about him as much as they would if he were a WR that was known for his ability to get open and then complete the catch on a consistent basis.
  8. I'm with you 100% there, but Beane didn't give me any warm and fuzzies the way he was talking about Gabe today. Seems like they're still of the opinion Gabe is going to start acting like a true #2 any day now.
  9. I hear you and I do believe Dorsey's playcalling seems like it feeds Josh's bad habits at times. I think Daboll would certainly do a better job with reeling Josh back in if he gets into that hero ball mindset. I saw this tweet and I found it interesting. Now I know there can be many different factors that go into this, but I can't help but believe Dorsey's playcalling was a major contributing factor here.
  10. Just playing Devil's Advocate... I see what you're saying, but if Daboll were promoted to HC, there's probably a good chance Dorsey winds up as OC anyway in that scenario. I get that Daboll would be there to oversee it all, but it could've worked out that way.
  11. I'm right there with ya, 😂. A real server meltdown 😂
  12. If you even hear Goodell's mouth start to say, "WIth the 27th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select..." Defensive,... Linebacker,... Cornerback,... Safety,.... This place is going to spontaneously combust.
  13. Let me just preface this by saying that I don't believe McD will be fired and I don't think he should be fired especially considering I don't like the HC candidates that are out there. I'm curious though to hear what people think about where this team would be had drastic moves been made after 13 seconds...both McD and Frazier were let go, and Daboll were promoted to HC rather than going to the G-Men. Would the team have been better off this season and going forward? Yes or No and why?
  14. Seems like Dorsey doesn't use a lot of our players properly. I still don't know why the brought Beas back. Use of the slot WR was like night and day difference between Daboll and Dorsey. Very true. If they don't seriously address the O-line and do something to get attention off Diggs, nothing will be any different than this year and who's in the backfield will make no difference whatsoever.
  15. Sounds a lot to me like he's definitely trying to lessen expectations going into next season. I'm really hoping it's just a matter of him trying to play his cards close to his chest, but it certainly wasn't inspiring a lot of hope or optimism that they have the ability or the willingness to fix the problems this team has right now.
  16. Why would he have to say that? He could be just like you and basically claim we beat ourselves, despite the fact we were physically dominated (and out coached) up and down the field.
  17. Tells me they aren't comfortable with Tua's status going forward. We have no idea what's really going on with him. He could up and retire for all we know. Multiple concussions are not something to mess around with. Doctors may be telling him it's not wise to keep playing.
  18. Is the guy his nephew or something and we just don't know it? lol
  19. You're entitled to your opinion, but I think it's one that's clearly in the minority here. Beane himself today said he think the Bills are behind both Cincy and KC in the AFC.
  20. Thanks for that. I'll find it on Youtube and watch it in a bit. "Sees the Bills as now behind the Bengals and Chiefs in the AFC"...at least he's not in denial and knows he has work to do. If he's willing to give Edmunds what he'll demand on the open market, he's basically doing a defacto Von Miller signing. Was Brown the only O-line position he talked about because they've got a lot more problems than just him. Sounds like Dorsey's job is safe, unless there's something we don't know. I hope he doesn't confuse thinking Gabe CAN turn it around with Gabe WILL turn it around and not take that into consideration going into the draft. That's the exact kind of thinking that got us into trouble with Gabe this year...thinking he's something he's not. Is he willing to burn another year of Josh's career to find out? How much more time does Gabe need here, seriously? We don't need a receiver that makes big plays sometimes but is not dependable the rest of the time. We need a consistent and legit WR2 that can take some of the attention off Diggs. Nothing about Frazier? Again, thanks for the rundown.
  21. At the end of the day, whether you want to attribute it to coaching, talent, weather, or just luck, the Bills were beaten and beaten badly on both sides of the ball. The final score isn't even a good indication of how bad they got beat and if they played again tomorrow, I'm not expecting a different outcome because the Bills are still more than likely to get owned in the trenches again. I have no reason to believe otherwise.
  22. Rodgers is still a good QB and I don't want the Jets getting him, Brady, or Lamar.
  23. So you're saying they have more coaching talent than we do? If so, that's as big a factor in winning or losing as physical talent is. Taking the totality of the two, it was clear to me at least that Cincy is the better team.
  24. Yes, there is a problem with that. To push a conspiracy that basically says, "we never say Damar's face, so he must be dead", besides being ridiculous, is extremely hurtful and disrespectful to him and his family. You're also calling them liars. And based on what? You couldn't see his face? Seriously?
