Leading cause of death of children 0-19 is "Unintentional Injury". Those are motor vehicle crashes, falls, fires and burns, drowning, poisonings and aspirations. In 2023, the leading cause of death for that age group is Covid-19.

And just because you're a veteran, doesn't mean you go through "months of *FIREARM* training". You can be a 92Y (supply, for example) and only fire a weapon in basic for a couple of weeks and then once a year to 'requalify". In basic, you'll RARELY ever see a sidearm (pistol) and will likely never handle one unless you're an officer. To think just because you served, you're 'weapons trained' is comical. I know plenty of people who I served with that SUCK at handling guns.

Again, you're not going to change how I feel.... and a lot of people feel the same way about that season, who are NOT Oklahoma State fans. Like I keep saying, there is a reason we have a 4-team playoff right now. A MASSIVE part of it was due to how the 2011 season ended and how OSU got shafted. BTW: Stanford had one of the best defenses in the nation, top 25 and that was in a crazy PAC12 who had great offenses. OSU lit them up. No, not nearly as good as Alabama's defense that year but they were good. (and the stats do matter when half the offense went on to the NFL that next year)

Again, you won't convince me that OSU wasn't the best team in 2011. We were unstoppable on offense (best offense in college football) and a better resume. If it wasn't for Saban ranking OSU like 5th along with a few other coaches (which was done on purpose to help Alabama), OSU would have finished 2nd and played LSU. "10x better" give me a freaking break dude. You didn't even win your division. Nearly a 5000 yard QB with nearly 40 TDs (NFL) 1500 yard WR with 18 TDs as a 2x Biletnikoff winner (NFL) RB with over 1200 yards & 24 TDs (NFL) TE with 700 yards (NFL) This again is a huge reason why I think we needed the expanded playoffs and it's WHY we have a 4-team playoff today. I'm an Oklahoma State fan but I'm not clueless to think the Big XII defenses are top notch, but compared to the SEC... it's up and down as good. 4 Big XII teams and 4 SEC teams in the top 30 defensively. Take away UGA? SEC is pretty lousy today with their defenses. NOT any better than the Big XII defenses as a whole. "Done nothing special"

Thinking about it again... I have to change my answer to two possible dates, both tragic days. Jan 27, 2001: Oklahoma State basketball played in Boulder, Colorado against the Buffaloes. The game ended and the team took 3 charter planes back to Stillwater. One didn't make it back. It took the lives of 10 staff members, players and coaches. Shook the OSU community to it's core and still has a huge effect on the school and even state. Team managed to make it to the NCAA tournament that season after what happened. Nov 18, 2011: Oklahoma State v Iowa State football in Ames, IA. The day before, another Oklahoma State plane went down, killing the girls head basketball coach and lead assistant (along with the pilot and his wife). In Stillwater, the kids who are athletes... they are all close. Mens basketball, football hung out with the womens sports. Mainly basketball. OSU went to Ames undefeated (10-0), ranked 2nd in the country and Brandon Weeden was the lead for the Heisman. Two wins away from the BCS Championship game. The Pokes were up early, but it slipped away. Lost in OT. Justin Blackmon (who I know his family really well) said that the entire team just walked through the game. No emotion, almost played depressed. The game cost OSU the National Title shot (we would have won) and changed college football into what we have today (CFP).

I don't hate the SEC at all. My youngest daughter goes to Ole Miss. I pull for them and Arkansas (close tied to Oklahoma State) all the time. I've been to a half dozen Ole Miss home games the past 2 years. I'm not a fan of Alabama or Saban... after ESPN allowing him on the air during a 44-3 beat down in Bedlam in 2011 so he could cheerlead why Alabama (who didn't win their DIVISION) should get to replay LSU in the title game over Oklahoma State. Alabama to me are college football's Patriots. Sick of them. SEC is the best conference, hands down, in college football and has for a good decade + Don't hate them at all. If you actually quoted me correctly... would give you more creditability. That said, the SEC (aside from UGA) has been on par with the Big XII defensively the past couple of years. Lets get real. EXAMPLE: Oklahoma State had a top 2 defense in 2021, only 2nd to Georgia. While the Cowboys were playing games where they allowed like 2 touchdowns in the 2nd half all season that year, Florida was giving up 52 points to Samford. I was at PLENTLY of Ole Miss home games where it would get into a ridiculous shootout (like the Ole Miss v Arkansas game in 2021, 100+ points scored). Don't act like the SEC is a defensive conference anymore. THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE. You have Georgia, maybe Alabama (even though they've had games were they looked like trash on defense). That's about it. SEC is not any better than the Big XII defensively overall anymore. Neither are Big 10 level.

Oklahoma State v Oklahoma - 2013 - Stillwater OSU came into the game, just a year removed from the Big XII title and Fiesta Bowl BCS win (should have played LSU in the National Championship game, not Andrew Luck and Stanford). OSU ranked 6th, OU 18th. The game is for the Big XII Championship. The Cowboys are up 24-20 with about 1:51 to play. OU had the ball... and on an OU pass, cornerback Justin Gilbert for OSU intercepted the ball. Caught it in the air, was flipped onto his head and hit the ground with his elbow... ball in his arms. Ball popped out and the officials called it incomplete. Blake Bell (yea, the backup TE for Kansas City) managed to drive down the field and scored with a few seconds to play to give OU the win. It was a HUGE roller coaster game... earthquake in the 2nd quarter (during an OSU FG attempt, which he actually made), the back and forth and then what I "thought" was a game winning interception. I'll never forget my 11-year old little girl jumping into my arms out of pure joy of watching her first Bedlam football win only to see her crying at the end of the game. It. Sucked.

Funny... I watched him play at TCU for 3 seasons. He managed 163 yards against Michigan in the CFP. How many games did you see him play in? Besides the CFP games. He was the LONE WR on that team. Brother, THANK YOU!!!! I went to the link and over the next several days, finally got access to my account last night. Was getting frustrated because I would enter the code they emailed to my email and it would continue to say "YOU'VE TRIED TOO MANY TIMES", so I'd have to wait 24 hours.
