  1. I work with someone who played softball at OU (all Big 8 pitcher). Her daughter plays softball in college now and she hates the portal and NIL. We've talked a lot about this and I agree with her.... it needs to be capped. The idea of a kid getting paid for a video game is a legit issue... but that is gone at this point (for now, until EA Sports comes out with NCAA 2025 or whatever) and the previous problem was the stipend kids got was not enough to live when they couldn't work while playing college sports. Now the doors are wide open and a kid going to Tennessee State (Hercy Miller) playing basketball can get $2 million for going there. Bryce Young can get paid $3 million+ I feel there needs to be a cap like in professional sports. I don't have an answer to be honest.
  2. Trey Sanders former 5-star RB (ranked #1 in 2019) is expected to transfer to Colorado.
  3. 1. No, there's not. But I'd take Deon over Gundy at this point. Just how I feel as a Cowboys fan/season ticket holder in Stillwater. And Sanders got quite a few top recruits away from SEC, Big XII, etc. teams. How does he get these kids over Alabama, Texas, UGA, Oregon, etc? Travis Hunter CB - 5 star... #1 player out of HS in the country Kevin Coleman WR - 4 star... picked JSU over UGA, Oregon, Bama, USC, etc (35 offers) Quaydarius Davis WR - 4 star... picked JSU over Alabama, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma State, etc. (22 offers) KaTron Evans DL - 4 star... offers from Alabama, Tenn, Clemson, Florida State (41 offer) Shedeur Sanders QB - 4 star... offers from everyone - clearly was going with dad De'Jahn Warren CB - 4 star... offers from everyone Trevonte Rucker WR - 4 star... " " Baron Hopson WR - 3 star 2. I get that. T. Boone and Knight are/were in a different league. But no reason Colorado can't get a combined total of $50-100 million from all their donors.
  4. 1,000+ FCS kids have hit the portal this year, most recently. I get a 5th year senior going somewhere (like Spencer Sanders at Oklahoma State) but there are SO MANY freshman-juniors leaving. Making college football not even fun anymore. /rant over
  5. The score might be 24-20 at the end. tOSUDC Jim Knowles is a GREAT DC and given a few weeks to game plan a team, his defenses can shut anyone down.
  6. Combo of coaching and money. Oklahoma State is a great example of how that can lead to success. OSU became decent again under Les Miles, his short tenure before going to LSU (dude is a football genius, but an average coach... used to play golf with him in Stillwater). In comes Mike Gundy plus T. Boone's money. Boone gave nearly $200 million to the Ok State athletic department (around a billion in all to the school) in 2005 and the Cowboys went from winning 4 to 7 games a season to a top 10 overall program in the nation in terms of wins and win percentage. (we were 0-10-1 about a decade before that in one season). Then throw in the "Texas" mentality that you have to win every game or you're fired. Rick Neuheisel was a good coach, he had one bad year at 5-6 (next year he was 8-4 and fired). That came off of two back-to-back 10-2 seasons. Jackson State was awful before Deon. Facilities were at the bottom of nearly all of college football. They now on the verge of going undefeated and winning the "black college national championship."
  7. I would think Houston would try to nap him seeing how they have nothing to lose. He can at least run the ball better than Mills. "What's this? A nail from the 1600's? What does it mean and who put it there? Was it the Knights Templar hiding the Holy Grail or was it the Free Masons looking to relocate the Browns? Or... was it more sinister and evil than anyone could ever imagine?"
  8. Colorado, like Nebraska, *CAN* get back to the glory years. I'm from Big XII (Big 8 ) country and they were dominate at one point for about 20 years. From 1989 to their last year in the Big 12. they won a national title and played for another. (Won the Big 8/12 six times).
  9. I completely understand what you're trying to say. I just think it's ridiculous. But your point, it makes expanding the Playoffs make even more sense. Instead of the Sugar Bowl being meaningless to someone like you... it would matter because Alabama has a chance to work it's way into a title game. Thank goodness we will have it in 2024.
  10. So yea, if Kansas State wins… you’ll make excuses. figured
  11. Guess we will see. TCU still has the most wins v Top 25 teams. Just glad old Nick couldn’t talk his way into the Playoffs again as he was (once again) given the mic to plead his pathetic case. well, your team gets to now play them. I’m sure I’d Bama loses, it will be “they didn’t care about the game”.
  12. Yep! After his 4 carries this season, I've seen all I need to see. 🤣
  13. Another gang/drug dealer... as most "mass shooters" are.
  14. Don't we (all men) do that?
  15. He blocked his ass off last night against Judon.
  16. Admin, merge to the Knox thread if you guys want... but I thought this feel this needs it's own post so people can see how Dawson is doing compared to the top 10 TE in the NFL this season. I don't get the hate Knox gets by some people on this board. The last seven (7) games, all passes regardless how good or bad they were: Knox: 26 targets - 21 catches - 2 touchdowns (80.1% completion rate) Kelce: 60 targets - 40 catches - 5 touchdowns (66.7%) Andrews: 48 targets - 30 catches - 2 touchdowns (62.5%) Hockernson: 47 targets - 34 catches - 1 touchdown (72.3%) Freiermuth: 41 targets - 29 catches - 0 touchdowns (70.7%) Njoku: 46 targets - 37 catches - 2 touchdowns (80.4%) Kittle: 42 targets - 30 catches - 4 touchdowns (71.4%) Higbee: 35 targets - 22 catches - 0 touchdowns (62.8%) Ertz: 44 targets - 26 catches - 3 touchdowns (59.0%) Hurst: 39 targets - 32 catches - 1 touchdown (82.0%) Everett: 39 targets - 28 catches - 1 touchdown (71.7) His catch % compared to his first 3 seasons
  17. And watch the play. Josh was getting rushed, got destroyed and threw it as fast as he could being tackled... it was a high pass, more of a lob, while Knox was running in the flat. It wasn't a pass that hit him in the chest like you'd expect. You're attacking the dude for one pass while he's caught practically everything (including the game winner in Kansas City) this year.
  18. I feel that Knox can be used in that way, motion at least once every series to get LB's confused. He has the speed to do that. No one will ever be like Kelce, dude is a freak. I'm trying to point out, Dawson does what he can do given the plays called and the throws by Josh. He catches nearly everything thrown to him, people only remember the occasional drop. He has caught it as well if not better than every TE in the league. He was tied for as the #1 scoring TE last season. He can also block. Not sure what people want him to do. He's running wide open and the ball goes to Davis or Diggs. That's not a Knox problem.
  19. He's had 26 targets the past 7 games, 21 catches and 2 scores. 80.1% catches Kelce (looking at the best in the league) has had 60 targets, 40 catches and 5 scores - 66.7% catches Totally agree. I'm pointing out to those who attack the guy... he can only try to catch what is thrown his way. He's caught 80% of passes thrown at him the past 7 games with 3 scores. He's blocking his ass off as well.
  20. Kelce is the elite standard in the NFL for TE's. Well, the elite at any level... probably ever. As the years have gone by, the Chiefs use so much motion with him, he's so difficult to defend. We should be doing the same thing with Knox. Dawson is a BEAST with the ball... he's like Josh when it comes to welcoming hits. But when he's open, gotta try to get him the ball. Those ripping him for drops? Lets look at targets v catches the last few games... Pats: 1 target, 0 catches Lions: 2 targets, 2 catches Browns: 7 targets, 7 catches Viks: 6 targets, 4 catches Jets; 4 targets, 3 catches Packers: 3 targets, 2 catches - 1 TD Chiefs: 3 targets, 3 catches - 1 TD Forget the situation or the coverage, throw, etc... he's had 26 targets his last 7 games with 21 catches and 2 scores.
  21. He had one lob weird pass that was more of a toss, weird angle. The whole game. He was open most of the game and blocked his ass off. He on Judon most of the game and guess how many sacks the leading sackman in the NFL did last night?
  22. Diggs TD, Dawson was WIDE open. If Josh threw it to Dawson, it would have been an easier touchdown throw and catch. Strip play, Knox and Motor alone. Slant to McKenzie. Knox was 4 yards behind the Judon and no one in sight. Josh dumps it off instead of hitting Knox for a long gain or TD. Josh threw it to Diggs on this play. Diggs made one hell of a catch for the first. Dawson was streaking across the field... no one around him. Another pass (side arm) to Isiah McKenzie (resulted in a first down). Look at who's all alone in the middle of the field.
  23. Did you watch the game last night?
  24. He had one drop. One target. The lone target was more of a flip to him... not a normal pass. Knox was open all night and Josh just didn't throw him the ball.
