  1. Way past due... You don't care about the lives of so many children. Children who take their lives due to the pressures and influence of social media and the internet as a whole. If you cared about children's lives, you'd throw your phone and computer away. Start protesting the ban of the internet and especially social media.
  2. I love your "Straw Man Fallacy" you continue to throw out there.
  3. "It's A Dangerous Thing To Confuse Children With Angels."
  4. Gender dysphoria (transgender) is in the DSM-5 as a legit mental illness. Suicide rate is high without surgery, but it's significantly worse for those who do complete that "change". "Ten to 15 years after surgical reassignment, the suicide rate of those who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery rose to 20 times that of comparable peers." https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885 Yep! Even thought I don't live in NYS, they practically banned "assault weapons" by telling people they had one year to register, turn them in or destroy them. You're a criminal if you owned one and just let it sit in your safe for 12 months and 1 day, not doing anything.
  5. CNN and MSNBC as well as the Young Turks, they talk about the evils of the AR-15 (which probably account for 200 deaths a year in reality). That's where BS gets his information on firearms and information about the AR-15. Cenk Uygur doesn't like the AR-15, unless you're transgender (he actually said that... no one should own one unless they are a tranny), so BS is going with what Cenk and Rachel Maddow says.
  6. Never said that BS. You can keep saying that and trying to piece together my posts, but I never said that. Keep trying though. It's not difficult to answer a simple question: Why do you want to go after the AR-15 or the AR platform (includes several rifle calibers) when a handgun accounts for 16 times the number of murders?
  7. That's the thing, one reason I have my firearms to protect my family. You still have not explained why you continue to single out ONE firearm platform and ignore the others? The least used type, but you see it being scary and you want to get rid of it.
  8. I still don't understand why you want to go after the one weapon platform that accounts for a fraction of gun deaths per year. 400 or less. Out of 10,500.
  9. Any time someone hires a new LEO that's "MORE F'N GUNS!"? I'd say yes. We have to report someone under those circumstances along with someone hurting them. People often don't seek out counseling or help due to the fact we must report (mandatory reporter) as a health professional.
  10. I'd venture out to say yes, or around that age. Here's one: https://abc3340.com/news/local/child-dead-man-hospitalized-in-morgan-county-stabbing-hartseelle-village-drive-knife-violence
  11. I saw a study where there has been no school shootings during school hours where A) Armed staff members and B) That information is provided in the front of the school on a sign. Honestly can't find it now but I'll keep looking.
  12. Where did I said that in my response? I posted a link to the ACLU and their quote.
  13. No. I'm in support of the "idea" but worry about how it can be used/abused. Even the ACLU is against it... which is saying a lot. Here is what they said: "People who are not alleged to have committed a crime should not be subject to severe deprivations of liberty interests...in the absence of a clear, compelling and immediate showing of need. As well-intentioned as this legislation is, its breadth and its lenient standards for both applying for and granting an ERPO are cause for great concern." https://www.riaclu.org/en/news/aclu-rhode-island-raises-red-flags-over-red-flag-gun-legislation
  14. I was saying, I assumed the laws/rules/policies that are in one state won't apply to another. Now if it's a criminal case, like Domestic Violence, then it would carry over and be accessible to the FBI database.
  15. I would (assume) think that if someone loses a right in a state (NYS) due to that state having a certain law and moves to a state (Tenn) that doesn't have those laws... I would believe that they could buy a firearm. Now if someone couldn't own a gun in NYS for DV or some other offense, it would carry over to every state via the NICS check.
  16. We already have mandatory reporting requirements. Unfortunately, we can't stop everything. Kids will manage to get a firearm from their parents closet or safe or have parent(s) who don't care if their kid has access to a gun. We have a lot of shootings where there were no signs of a problem. Not a school shooting, but Vegas is a good example. The guy had no history of violence or mental problems. We want to protect our kids, I've explained what can help right now. That girl would have never made it into the school if a front office staffer (usually a principle) had a firearm.
  17. My ideas are better than your ideas... which is? What? I've said OVER AND OVER on this thread... if a staff member would be willing to and properly trained. I never said people should be forced or we "employees who aren't currently armed should be." Schools who have armed staff have NEVER had a on campus during school hours, shooting. Ever.
  18. First off, I appreciate the question instead of an attacking post. This is how we work on fixing issues (as a nation). And it's a good question. I don't know what this person was diagnosed with, but if they were diagnosed with depression that could lead to suicidal ideation... it should be noted in a NICS system. I've talked about this before, the parents have to be responsible for a lot of this (if they live at home). My oldest daughter, who is in school in Boston (she's a senior a highly coveted music college that it really high pressure) had to go inpatient for depression. I flew to Boston to help her. First thing I did was help remove anything from her apartment that she could use to harm herself. If she was still living at home, or say moved back home, I'd reduce the access to my firearms (they are in a safe when I'm not there anyway), knives, etc. Those parents of this girl should have been on top of things better. But as @T master said, I'm 100% for staff being allowed to carry if they are TRAINED by LEO. You know I'm former military and that I work at a school. If someone tried to do what the girl did in Nashville, she would be down before entering the 2nd entrance. She blew through TWO doors to get in, struggling to get past that first door. She should have been, could have been, dropped right there. That would require someone on staff, mainly front office, being armed. Newtown is another great example. He had to blast his way though safety glass, two levels of it, to get in. If someone at the front had a gun? No child would have died.
  19. Never said that. I'm at a HS that has a GREAT system in place and it's no where close to being a "vault". There are even example photos on his thread.
  20. I believe I've talked about what could be done AT LENGTH on here.... including a long reply to L Ron Burgundy on page 412. Did you skip that part and just go straight to the part where I talked about medications?
  21. I work at a high school. I've never had any kid ask or say "I wonder if we will make it home". My girls never said that to me when they were in school. Maybe kids living in gang ridden area. Oh wow, so we are making personal attacks huh? You don't know me and how I help people or don't help people. I continue to say it, we have laws that already prevent certain people from owning a firearm. What else would you put in place?
  22. Okay... and how would you put that idea in place? There are laws in the books, in every state (they vary state-to-state) to do that. What constitutes someone who is a "psycho"?
  23. No I'm not... because I never said that. And you said "only societal variable" He's worn the same pin for a while now... he's sponsoring a bill that would name the AR-15 as the national firearm (just a waste of time and money IMO). The AR-15 rifle wasn't used in Nashville. A KelTec 2000 and AR-pistol was used.
  24. Where did I say any of those things? I am talking about correlation. Socioeconomics play a part in crime, as in gangs/drugs/etc. Has really nothing to do with a kid who goes into a school to shoot other kids. Economics isn't the only "societal variable" that has changed in 30 years. You can include social media in that correlation. It has been devastating to our society.
