  1. I'm hoping SF wins tonight, forcing the Dolphins and Baltimore to go all out for the #1 seed. Best case Baltimore wins, we beat NE and it all comes down to Miami. We win that with a Chiefs lose one and we are the #2 and they would have to go through Buffalo. 2nd best scenario is we get the #3. Then it's a #6 or #7 and a tough road to the Super Bowl, but at least we are in. it's one game at a time and the rest will sort itself out. The Bills put themselves in this position and now they can win themselves out.
  2. The Patriots are not a push over to look past. We have two division games that we need to come out focused and play mistake free "complimentary" football. The goal is in sight, especially if Baltimore takes care of business against Miami.
  3. The last two seasons have been as unpredictable as a tv weatherman. Just when you think it's going to snow, the sun comes out. Hopefully we have a sunny Super Bowl win to cap this maddening season off, but that's a lot to ask out of this team. Are they capable? Absolutely... Is is probable? Ask the weatherman. Or the cabbie. In terms of 50 years of Bills football, these season's still rank in the top 20%. Only the McDermott teams and the Levy teams were competitive every year. There were so many years we knew we were bottom feeders and would go out to watch the games and support our team anyway, hoping for an upset. My joy in seeing this turn to Patriot fans is almost as enjoyable. This time of year most of us would be talking about the draft and free agency and I hope we compete next year. We have been given a Christmas gift from the Bills that only happened 19 times in 64 years of the teams history, so I'm going to enjoy it. Merry Christmas TBD'ers.
  4. Agreed. Everything went our way, especially ATL taking down Indy, which was unexpected. Best scenario is we win out. But this is exactly what the NFL wants on the last week of the season. 11 teams in the AFC with a shot and it looks like there could be 11 teams in the NFC with a shot. Fans of 22 teams going ape sh^t on the final week the season. That $$$$$$$ and that's what matters to the NFL.
  5. It took about 10 minutes post game for my heart rate to normalize.
  6. It's always a fluke play, a mistake, a costly penalty, or some other crazy instance that costs us a big win. 50+ years of seeing it play out in countless ways. Just when you think you've seen every heart breaking way the Bills can lose a game, they come up with another. 12 men on the field vs Denver is the newest addition to a very long list.
  7. Me too. I want to see him and Joseph line up on the inside and destroy people.
  8. Super post. Really super. Now if we can just have a Super Bowl win, we'll be all super.
  9. Jack Tatum would call that a routine hit. My have the rules changed. It was pretty reckless though.
  10. We could have an even better record. Eagles, Broncos, Patriots, Jets. Just two of those going the other way and we are 10-4. Three of them and we are the #1 seed. I'm still shocked at these games, but the Dorsey effect is evident.
  11. We became Wick when Taylor Dunne killed a dog named McDermutt. \
  12. I'm with you. It provides an unfair advantage to the offense. Blocking is one thing, but pushing is another and it shouldn't be legal.
  13. This has got to give the Bills some energy and motivation to run the table. It starts with the Cowboys. We beat them and the rest of the schedule doesn't look so bad. But they can't overlook anyone, get lazy or stop being aggressive on offense and defense.
  14. On Defense: New additions Linval Joseph (clogs the middle, bottles up the run game) and Rasul Douglas (INT) , plus some big plays from Bernard and Groot (a tipped ball that Bernard picks plus a sack.) On Offense: Cook, Kincaid and Diggs get the spotlight. On the game: Just like Philly, the REFS try to keep it close even though the Bills are dominating. But this time the Bills finish.
  15. Is it really just Labatt's pints? Be honest with yourself.
  16. A good portion of Americans are going through a lot of problems now. Whether it's financial, physical or mental issues and stress, people are having a tough time. When the Bills are winning and have a shot at the big show, it lifts the entire city. The Bills are the common bond, the water cooler talk, the message boards the conversation of the day. This gives people an escape to let go of their issues and get caught up in the emotion of having some kind of victory in life. Are there better ways to do it? Sure. But In Buffalo, this is the way we grew up. I could hear the roar of the stadium from my house when we gathered around the radio for blocked out home games that weren't on tv. This city lives and dies football. And it has an emotional identity to a great number of fans. Is this healthy? Probably not, but it's real to people and their emotional attachments to things cause issues in their lives that require a degree of attention and compassion.
  17. GM "we aren't investigators" Translation: If Von can help us win football games, then we keep him until the league disciplines him.
  18. Thanks for posting. A good topic to dive into. We are not in cap hell, but certainly not as flexible as we would like. The DL is going to be an issue and we need to spend some money there. It will be an interesting off-season if we don't make a serious playoff run. I like most of the moves they discussed, but we do need to find ourselves a reliable #2 WR. I just hope we pull this season together and finish strong. It's been so disappointing so far.
  19. Everyone on this board really, really hopes that you are right. Not just right, but right with flying colors, rainbows and Christmas cookie right. We want you to be right so bad. But Sean McDermott is still coaching and calling the defense. Until this team can make a stop when they need it, winning it is a tough chore. Especially since the refs love to keep games tight and swing the momentum so it's a close finish. Can't trust the refs or McD for a clean sweep into the playoffs.
  20. The way in is to win out. That's the only true hope we have. 10-7 is going to keep us out because of head to heads and conference record. This is the playoffs. Every game from here out is do or die. The chance we get in at the #7 seed at 10-7 is probably about 35% and a lot of things would have to fall our way in the conference.
