  1. I'm not a big believer in McDermott but I certainly wouldn't say he's the 22nd best coach in this league regardless of his shortcomings in the playoffs and/or against good teams. I still think at worse he should be in that 10 - 15 range if anything because his body of work and how this franchise has changed in recent years.
  2. So much for that retirement talk. Rams obviously going all in for another championship this year and first team to repeat since the Patriots nearly 20 years ago as they should since they have a great shot.
  3. I think it played a major factor in the situation but it probably wasn't the sole factor. At the end of the day though that Falcons team was more of an outlier since they weren't a consistent contender like the Bills fancy themselves in recent years and heading into the 2022 campaign.
  4. Not necessarily, look what happened to the Falcons after they lost the SB to Patriots in infamous fashion blowing a 28-3 lead. They never recovered and haven't made the playoffs since. There window was slammed shut that day in hindsight. I just think that that it's a very slippery slope to assume this team is going to be 'just fine' after losing a playoff game in the fashion they did (i.e. taking the lead twice in the final 2 minutes, 13 seconds, then OT loss) especially given the first 6 games which are as tough as it gets on paper for any team this year. And no matter what you believe about McDermott, the Chiefs and Andy Reid are going to be living rent free in his head until proven otherwise. The elephant in the room for me is still McDermott.....and I'm willing to die on that hill as much as I really am not going to enjoy being proven right someday when he's replaced.
  5. This team has a lot to prove this year and the entire Bills organization knows this regardless of all this offseason hype. And personally I still think there's a strong possibility of a 'hangover' so to speak with how the season ended in KC combined with a very difficult opening schedule the first month and half. McDermott is truly going to have to prove he's among the leagues best head coaches to keep the ship steady and moving in the right direction.
  6. That's definitely a valid point and there is going to be a lot of pressure in south beach to produce this year given the talent on hand and moving on from Flores (which some think was premature given how close the Fish were the last few years).
  7. If this guy isn't suspended for a large portion of the upcoming season (or indefinitely) than something is seriously wrong with the NFL especially when they preach how important character and image is for the league as a whole.
  8. Obviously a lot of teams were in on his services but the real shocker is that he declined to stay in the bright lights of Hollywood with the team that traded for him midseason and he won another SB with. But at the end of the day it was obviously money and the fact he didn't fear playing in cold weather given all his years in Denver that probably swayed him to the Bills. And having a 'creature' like JA17 didn't hurt either obviously...
  9. Wouldn't surprise me and another reason I'm very concerned about the Dolphins with potential young stud players like this. In regarding to our own guys though glad to see all 3 of our young DE's in attendance. Epensa obviously has the most to prove this summer though entering year 3 and I'm still not convinced he will even be on the final roster come September.
  10. If McDermott hasn't fired Frazier after 5 years why would he dump Dorsey after one? And as far as Brady goes I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on him being some sort of offensive genius or guru given his small body of work in the NFL.
  11. My overall point is that this line pretty terrible last year until the last 6 games and into the playoffs which coincided with Dawkins finally rounding into form and Bates entering the lineup. If they can pick up where they left off and show any semblance of that type of cohesion we should be more than fine but again there are a multitude of things of concern which I outlined and still think the Saffold signing is a bit overrated/overvalued by the fans considering how bad his play dropped off last year in TEN.
  12. Camp body type of signing. Because if he were to make this roster that means we aren't nearly as good at the position as some think. In fact I have no problem that we looked to bring in another veteran body at the position but should have been a different name with a more proven body of work at the position.
  13. IMO this is not a hot take as some might believe. Obviously JA17 looks to have risen to the ranks of the league's top 5 QB's/elite players. So by default he is now good enough to carry a roster with holes/deficiencies which I still believe is the case in Buffalo because I'm not nearly as sold on certain areas like DB and Oline compared to other faithful. But when you look at the talent that Miami has accumulated at worse they are probably on par with the Bills (not including QB). And they have some serious talent now across the board especially all 3 levels of defense and TE/WR.
  14. To be honest you can argue this oline is actually a downgrade on paper from last year and I think a lot of things are going to need to come together (quickly) for this oline to be considered more than a middle of the pack unit again. Because outside of Dawkins and Morse there are big time question marks IMO. And even with Morse there's still lingering questions about his concussion history and trouble against average or better DT's at times. Saffold is an aging vet on the decline but should still be average at worse barring injury. But the biggest questions marks could be on the right side with Bates still not truly being a proven commodity and Brown avoiding the dreaded sophmore slump that has seemingly plagued this teams draft picks in recent years. One thing I do know is hopefully Cody Ford is not on this final roster or it's begging for a disaster waiting to happen.
  15. Sometimes I don't know if this stuff is serious or not but yes I can think of at least 50 more popular (and accomplished) players. Fitz was a likeable guy, I get it. But he had no business being here as the starter for as long as he was nor should he have ever gotten a big contract extension here. He's not a HOF player and doesn't not deserve individual franchise recognition here. At the end of the day fans need to stop with obsessions over players like this. It's as bad or worse as the obsession over a freaking punter (Brian Moorman) which shows just how bad things were with this franchise during the drought years that players like this get a whiff of attention.
  16. It's still a bit premature to stay Tua has reached what ever ceiling he has in this league. He wasn't drafted in the top 5 just because he played on Alabama and was surrounded by future pro bowlers. The consensus belief is that he was a big part of why a lot of these other guys were successful and a blue chip prospect with franchise potential. It was expected for him to be a top 5 pick (even #1 overall before injury). JA17 on the other hand was drafted in the top 10 soly on raw talent and potential, not what he did in college which wasn't much obviously so no debating that part.
  17. Mahomes and Lamar Jackson both won MVP in their 2nd NFL seasons, although the former only played one game as a rookie. Mac Jones had one of the better rookie seasons in recent memory and was a legit MVP candidate at one point last year before the Pats crumbled towards the end of the season. So to say he can be a dark horse candidate this year is certainly not out of the realm of possibility just not as likely as some of the more bigger names in the current discussion.
  18. I doubt he really cares but he's right about twitter warriors and trolls who have nothing better to do that harass pro sports types unrelentlessly these days. Either way the guy knows that it's a make or break season for his career so the pressure is going to be tremendous for him to produce and take another step this year just like it was for JA17 in year 3.
  19. It honestly wouldn't even make sense for him to do this unless he truly cares about the Bills being his longest stop of all the teams he played for and the ill advised contract he was given here. Either way never heard of a backup/journeyman doing this especially one that's played for nearly a 3rd of the teams in this league.
  20. Not really shocking since there have been rumblings about this going back to last year when his injury ended up being worse than expected with Washington. If there was a HOF case to be made for a pure journeyman backup/fringe NFL starter he'd be a lock for Canton.
  21. Other people I know have told me this but I think it has to do with what level of service you have (i.e. one of the most expensive packages which we do) and your payment history (I've personally never been past due on a bill). At least this is information I found on a reddit forum where someone who claimed they worked for Directv posted this information. But the strategic haggling game is what I had to do prior to recent years as well and every time they would cave and give me a massive discount plus free Sunday Ticket. A few times it's been a bit extreme where I would call them on the first week of the month when I would get a new bill with all the expired credits off it. You want to immediately get to the loyalty department and bypass customer service. You do this by simply saying 'cancel service' on the automated phone prompts. Once you are there if you don't like the offer have tell them you are disconnecting your service but don't have it officially done until end of month/billing cycle. If they still won't bite just relax and move forward with this, then typically within a few days you'll get a call from their 'last line of defense' loyalty people who will offer you the farm to stay before they proceed with disconnecting service on said date. One year doing this I got free Sunday Ticket, $75 off in credits for a year, 6 free months of HBO and a $200 Visa Gift card. They probably won't offer anything close to that now though especially with Sunday Ticket leaving them.
  22. When you don't have a franchise QB it certainly is sadly.
  23. He was definitely playing at an all pro level last year when it mattered most and it's not talked about enough especially how bad he was in the first half of the season coming back from his covid struggles.
  24. This is also what I've seen on my bill the last few years. No emails but I believe I do get a letter from them in the regular mail right before the season starts letting me know I'm getting it a 'special gift'. Either way it's a benefit from being a loyal DT suscriber for many years and strategically haggling with them (i.e. threatening to cancel service) to get better pricing overall.
  25. I'm just not that high on Crowder at least in terms of the idea he's going to be a drop in replacement for Beasely ( or have even better numbers). Also another guy that can't stay healthy.
