  1. I like this pick, i might have tried to wait another round but either way he was going soon imo. Great feet for a big man, still very raw/inexperienced but he has that Incognito nasty in him and with the right coaching he could really turn into a stud. And while he projects to the right side with his athleticism and feet if he puts in the work and wants the payday he could be a LT just as easily so to speak. The Bills could have a Orlando Brown/Ronnie Staley situation in 2-3 years, only I bet they handle it much much better.
  2. thanks, of course, add whomever you'd like. I'm a fan of Roche too and I almost put him in there, and Khalil would be an interesting 6/7th rounder or udfa(imo) he has nice contact balance due to his height and how low he runs, has decent speed, could help in st and as a returner, more of a zone blocking scheme type with decent vision but lacks exp, is a little older, needs work in pass pro, but the upside is there with minimal investment.
  3. it is fully possible to make drastic changes through training, it just depends on how maxed out his body's potential was prior to the proper training, also doing the right training is only one step actually doing the work is the difficult part. And based on his career so far I would say that he hasn't been through the proper training to maximize his body's potential for the movements his position performs on a game by game basis, so I would guess that he could develop significantly better explosiveness, acceleration and top end speed if he puts in the work. That being said hopefully he is working on changing his mindset too, not just to be ready or to just do your job but developing a sense of urgency where he sees every play as an opportunity to hit a home run, to develop that mentality of 'when i cross the white line onto the field i transform into something else and i will dominate physically just with my effort. . .'
  4. Here are some/most of the day 2/3 guys that I like(in no particular order); Secondary: Wiggins, Joseph, Moolden, Campbell, Rochell, Diablo, Cisco, Grant, Hall, Bynum, Jean-Charles, Wade WR: Collins, Darden, Fehoko, Wallace, Atwell, Schwartz TE: Jordan, Long, McKitty DE/Edge: Perkins, Turner, Odeyingbo, Toney, Jones, Hamilcar LB- Surratt, Browning, Rice DT- McNeil, Slaton, Bohanna, Tonga, Brown RB- Hill, Gainwell
  5. hence the lol, haha sorry for whatever reason at the moment i couldnt help myself
  6. bills go heavy defense and draft 2 secondary, 2 dline, 1 lb, 1 oline, 1 wr
  7. LOL this was definitely my intiail reaction They had two of the best tackles in the league, I'm a guy who wants the best Dline and Oline in the league and would pay and aggressively pursue that goal if I was a gm so to me if I'm the ravens I have to get Staley, Brown, OL coach, Head Coach, Myself and whatever lawyers/reps are necessary and tell em we are not leaving until we can come to some agreement. Of course this doesnt mean it could have been worked and maybe they tried talking to him/them and still werent able to figure it out, but boy I sure woulda tried.
  8. I def agree, if they pass on sewell not even sure I have the words for how idiotic it would be, also agree about Higgins, I had him rated higher too and believe him to be a legit #1, of course I am of the belief that teams need more than just a #1 in todays league, you really need two #1's(or at least another serious receiving option/speed), much like a DLine where you need at least two guys so the offense can't just double a guy all day.
  9. not true, maybe athletically, but not how they are all used, ill def give you leonard, wright has seen a little time at both but if i remember correctly is mostly used oustide, he's still unsigned too i think. https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchartpos/ILB and almost everyone of them is right around 6 foot 220-240lbs with a couple of taller freaks here and there lol
  10. Beane has to say that kinda thing otherwise he hamstrings himself in negotiations, well maybe not him directly but whoever specifically negotiates all the contracts. tv deal might not kick in til 23 but fans back in stadiums will def have an impact
  11. players make plays they say, sure is nice when you own the line of scrimmage, its a testament to Mahomes ability to see the ridiculous throws he was still able to make while running for hs life, i really think his tes/wrs let him down a lot in that game, theres highlights somewhere they have camera and mics near Bucs sidelines and their wrs are commenting that hes a magician. The one gap technique is nice because it still forces double teams, but you're just not asking a giant to sit in a hole and grab two offensive linemen usually c and g. Players like this a lot more too because there technically isn't anyone doing dirty work, even the 0 or 1 tech is usually assigned a gap to attack and not to go face up on the center and two gap, although it can be played that way depending on preference and personnel. This is another good read, its shows some of how the tite front has snuck into the nfl just not necessarily called that at the time, one of the gifs shows it pretty well from an end zone view. -https://www.bucsnation.com/2019/7/31/18642575/tampa-bay-buccaneers-bucs-examining-the-guts-of-todd-bowles-defense
  12. I'm def a little biased as I am also a born ND fan, but he isnt the only player in this draft that adds similar dimensions to our defense, Parson, Collins, Davis are all guys of varying abilities and strengths and weaknesses but in general are guys with athleticism that aren't an automatic liability in coverage. I like the philosophy of the tite front in terms of the DE 4i shade to engage the guards and control the b gaps, also the idea of forcing the offense to the perimeter and letting my athletes(speed) fill.(spill and kill). With the right personnel it can be a deadly scheme which is true of any scheme, I'm just thinking since this is the way college has gone we increase our probability of finding players more in line with this scheme than with say an old style 4-3 that needs a thumper at mlb. I was always a big fan of Wade's defenses and the 3-4 in general because of the versatility and aggressiveness when the right front 7 is in place, ditto with the 46.
  13. all schemes depend on getting the right players, I thought the OP was asking if we could get the players necessary what scheme would we prefer. At least that's how I answered when I said the 'Mint/Tite' front from Nick Saban/Kirby Smart. Tho we are not that far off from a players standpoint.
  14. If we can take anyone I think Micah Parsons would have the most impact, he can rush, cover, play the run, and has a nose for the ball meaning impact plays. If not him specifically probably Jaycee Horn/Patrick Surtain
  15. Especially if the light goes on for Edmunds and we get better DLine play we will have a multitude of looks we can give because all 3 of our LB's are so multiple, then we grab a CB because there is so much depth and now we are giving them some ingredients to cook with on D. We make a draft day trade for Ertz who shows Knox how to turn his lights on to consistency. And there will still be some wr's and interior olinemen and edge rushers around in rounds 3-7. But like many say JOK won't be there anyway, they have to let the board come to them and then go from there, plenty of good options.
  16. I don't know why Taron has to be the one to come off the field. The point for me anyway of getting a JOK type of LB is to move toward more of a TiTe/Mint type of base which basically takes a linemen off the field and in place you get the versatile LB/CB type. This is basically a hybrid of our nickel but when used properly is better against the run while still allowing for advantage in coverage. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/09/nfl-defensive-evolution-tite-mint-front-creepers “When you have humongous bubbles in there, guess what you gotta do?” Smart says. “You gotta take on the guards. The guards in our league? You can’t go up there with [a small linebacker like] Roquan Smith and headbutt that guard. That’s crazy. I’d be foolish to tell a kid to go do that … You had to have ‘take-on’ backers. I mean take on a 300-pound man and you’re 245 pounds. But when they go spread, I need you to take your 245 pounds and go cover that receiver out there.”(Kirby Smart) -The Tite/Mint solved that issue for him. By kicking the ends into the B-gap, which occupied the guards, the linebackers no longer had to plug those gaps themselves, meaning Smart could use lighter players who could walk out and run with a receiver if need be. In the age of spread offenses, you need those more athletic linebackers to keep up. But then there’s the pass rush question. Well, with that hybrid player aligned on the line of scrimmage in the Mint front, you still get that fourth rusher that traditional fronts provide. “The Mint front is really a four-down front in the window dressing of a three-down front,” says Alexander. “You’re still going to have that fourth rusher. And every NFL team has an edge rusher. That pass-rush specialist … I think that front in particular [will start to show up in the NFL]. If you watch guys like Orlando, Aranda and Kirby Smart, it allows them to get in their four-down and three-down and gives them that multiplicity that you wouldn’t get if you were really rigid.”(Smart)
  17. i could see us taking an olinemen in the first, if one of the tackles falls, or if they love Humphrey or maybe even Dickerson.
  18. The Ravens had a guy who didn't want to play RT(they have Staley at LT) and who would be a free agent next year. The fact that they got anything is a testament to KC's need at LT. It's helpful for both teams. KC's Oline- Guards- Long, Allegretti, Thuney, Duvernay-Tardif Tackles- Brown, Remmers, Williams, Niang, Rankin, Wanogho Barring injuries they are all set, they have 4 starting level guards. Ravens - G/C- Colon, Bredeson, Phillips, Powers, Zeitler, Boseman, Mekari, Mancz Tackles- Andre Smith, Ronnie Staley Obviously created a need at tackle, too bad they had two premium tackles and Brown is younger than Staley
  19. 100% agree, these are the exact reason I said he is a solid professional, he does what is asked of him and he isnt a liability. As you note they have tried other more 'talented' players who have not held up. Getting someone for me has been a priority because it does allow more flexibilty and allows us to be more aggressive if we want. Right now it almost feels like Frazier is calling the defense with that in mind, like he has at least one hand tied behind him, and he has to figure out how to mask our weaknesses more than he can play to our strengths.
  20. “He is one of the few coaches who starts from the backend forward. So he’s always going to take away your best receiver. And he says ‘A team legitimately can’t run the ball at you consistently and win the game nowadays.’ You have too good of defensive linemen, you can scheme up to stop the run. It’s hard to scheme up to stop the pass if that guy’s better than your corner.” I'm a fan of the Smart/Saban 'Mint' or variation of the Tite front, allows for advantage in coverage while still being multiple about where pressure can come from, it's tough having to defend spread teams but also teams in a '12' that have TE's that can be threats in the run and passing game which is where NE is headed with Henry and Smith, getting Tweeners that can cover and hold up against the run is really the key. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/09/building-modern-nfl-defense-roster-management check out this series of articles, explains the changing defenses in response to the rpo's, spread offenses, '12' personnel(with TEs who can block and catch). Very intelligent breakdown.
  21. Yea I think he has a real shot as well, Feliciano could end up being the swing/depth guy or takes over for Morse who gets traded lol. But seriously it could be Ford at one guard spot and Lamp at the other, really whoever steps up and wants it. I expect us to bring in a Dickerson/Humphrey type somewhere in the draft too.
