I give Beane and company a solid B+. There are things to like about every single pick, and I like that we filled most of holes in the roster. I think we have at least 3 potential starters in this class. Coleman will start this season and depending on how camp goes, I think Van Pran and Bishop will push at worst for immediate PT. If either Edwards falters, Van Pran and Bishop will become starters this season. Bishop has size and speed. Van Pran allowed only 1 sack in 1300 passing attempts while at UGA and Coleman had 20 TD catches the last 2 years. This stats stood out to me when I realized that Shakir, Kincaid and Diggs only had 9 TDS on 246 targets from week 7 through the playoffs. Having someone that can go up and grab a ball in the red zone and end zone is a huge upgrade for our passing attack. I didn't know much about Solomon and Ulofoshio before the draft, but hard to argue with drafting the FBS sack leader in Solomon and a Butkus Award finalist in Ulofoshio in the late stages of the draft. If Solomon can have a similar impact in the pros as he did in college (a big if), it will help Beane move on from Miller. I also love the Davis pick. He is excellent catching out of the backfield, can make tacklers miss and get tough yards. He will thrive in Buffalo. Carter is by all accounts a really good football player in the 3 technique which is something we needed depth at. He is also a smart kid, a team leader at Duke and they say he is good against he run. Both lineman are developmental but are huge and athletic. We'll see if the CB (Hardy) can play CB in the NFL, but he is fast and could easily out battle Hamler for the kick returner job. Biggest complaints are Coleman lack of speed (although his in game speed is very good) and our failure with 10 picks to add a speed receiver option to help stretch the field. I'm a little surprised at Beane made all 10 choices. With the Diggs trade, the pick 144 for the Bears 4th in 2025 and compensatory picks, I think the Bills now have as many as 12 picks in 2025.

I posted this in another thread but it belongs here as well. FYI: Why do I think and others think Shakir can replace Diggs. He is physically nearly identical to Diggs, younger, cheaper, more productive since week 7 and more explosive. As to the thread question as to whether we did enough, I would argue we had if Coleman was faster. He certainly is a replacement for Davis and if when we move Shakir to DIggs' former position and Samuel to the slot, I think you can make a reasonable argument that the starters are set. Add Kincaid and Cook and you have a very nice group of targets for Josh. The question of depth beyond the starters at WR is a legit question. Right now we have Hollins, Shorter, Hamler & Isabella. Color me un-impressed.

Don’t discount Hamler making the team. I was pretty harsh when they signed him, but given his speed, NFL experience, and the new kickoff rules, the odds of him making the team have now increased.

No double dip on a WR. I guess they like Shorter more than we thought.

ESPN likes Solomon. Looks like a smart add to our edge depth.

Kid looks like a very good athlete. 4.72 40, 37 vertical. Lead FBS with 16 sacks. Also 3 forced fumbles.

Bills traded pick 144 (5th rd) to the Bears for the Bears 4th rd pick in 2025 Bills trade pick 163 (6th rd pick) to GB for 168 and 219. This gets us back to 10 picks in this draft.

Cbs gives the pick an A- and he was a Butkus award finalist.

Some really good players still on the board. Van Pran, Rice, Hart, Chris Jones, Kamara and Booker. No wonder Beane is letting the draft come to him.

I like Guerendo also, size and speed. That said, I never thought Davis would still be on the board here. I got to watch him often in the SEC. We are going to like this kid.

I know Beane said he wasn’t trading up in the 4th, but it’s a little disappointing. Is he really going to make 4 5th rd picks? We still have needs at Edge, CB, OL and WR so maybe.

This is a really good football player. Cook, Johnson and Davis is an excellent RB room.

I'm sorry, but I'm not at all sad that we traded Diggs. I think Kincaid and Shakir with Samuel and now Coleman will make up a better group of pass catchers then we had last season as Diggs' 160 targets get spread around better as Josh won't have to feed a Prima Donna, but instead focus on throwing to who is actually open. Here are some stats after week 6 when we opened up the offense and started using Kincaid and Shakir more. (Stats include the playoffs) Diggs - 111 tgts, 68 rec, 636 yards, 3 TDS, Catch % 61.26, yards/att 5.73 Kincaid - 83 tgts, 64 rec, 659 yards, 3 TDS, Catch % 77.11%, yards/att 7.94 Shakir - 52 tgts, 45 rec, 646 yards, 3 TDS, Catch % 86.54%, yards/att 12.42 Which of these players would you keep if you were the GM? The player on the downside of his career or the kuds who were just as productive but have upside? Also add that Diggs only had 19 explosive plays on 160 targets, while Shakir had 17 on 45 targets in the regular season. Also combine comparison between Shakir and Diggs (both were 5th rd picks) Shakir - 6' 196, 4.43 40, 1.49 10 yard split, 34.5 vertical - 78 Athleticism score Diggs - 6' 195, 4.46 40, 1.53 10 yard split, 35 vertical - 69 Athleticism score
