Well the Chiefs need a receiver with Hollywood Brown injured.

The wind made the passing game hard at times. The wind blew a good pass to Shavers behind him as discussed during the broadcast. One thing that stood out was that the Bears, who played last week, were in much better rhythm than the Bills. Call me when actual football begins and we’ll see if we actually gave something to worry about.

1. Pre-season doesn’t matter. The Bills went to the SB after not wInning a single pre-season game. 2. FYI: This was the Bears 2nd game. 3. No major injuries I think. That’s the best news. 4. Shakir is going to have a great season.

Joe Buscaglia's Projected 53 man roster as of today
GASabresIUFan replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
I asked myself the same thing when reading the article. He put the answer at the very end of the article. “Injured Reserve: Players that go on IR without going to the 53-man roster first will be out for the entire year if they stay with the team Waived: A player with three or fewer vested years of experience will be subject to waivers if let go by the team. Released: A player with four or more vested years of experience is not subject to waivers if let go by the team and will be free to sign anywhere immediately.” -
Maybe the Pats are interested in taking MVS off our hands.

Joe Buscaglia's Projected 53 man roster as of today
GASabresIUFan replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just a quick thought on the WRs. The Bills have carried only 5 recently. Given the usage of Kincaid as a primary pass catcher and the Bills large use of 12 personnel, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they only carry 5 again this season. 4 slots are pretty much etched in stone (Shakir, Samuel, Coleman and Hollins). The funny thing is I think Shavers is leading for the 5th WR job based on my reading from Buscaglia and others. If the Bills head down this route, that likely frees up a roster spot for a 10th OL or even a 11th DL. If you think about it, it makes sense. The top targets for Josh are going to be Kincaid, Shakir, Cook, Samuel, and Coleman, with Knox and Hollins mixing in. That doesn't leave many targets for a 5th let alone a 6th WR. Last year WR4 and WR5 had a 43 targets between them. The year before WRs 4 + had 51 between 7 players. Admittedly, Diggs was focal point of the passing offense, but his targets will be spread among Samuel, Kincaid and Shakir. I don't think it will filter down much beyond Knox and Hollins. -

Why would that be a surprise? He played well when forced into the lineup late in the year, he knows the system and has had a good camp. -
Correct. Also the depth chart will continue to change after each practice and each pre-season game up until opening day. The WRs are a particularly fluid group. Shakir and Samuel are the only 2 guaranteed PT. Everyone else is vying for a place on pecking order. Coleman and Hollins are guaranteed a roster spot, but neither is guaranteed PT, although we have to hope that Coleman has good rookie year. After that everyone else is trying to earn a job with only 2 real roster spots available. Right now I'd say MVS and Shavers are leading the race. Claypool, Hamler and Shorter all have injuries of one kind or another, but there is still time for one of them to step up. Shorter had been playing gunner of STs while Hamler was in a battle with Hardy for the KR job.

I’m a little surprised Clapp is listed ahead of SVP at center. Not surprised Spector ahead of Jones at LB.
-
Lol. The guy caught 81.5% of his targets last year and lost 1 fumble.
-
The problem for Toohill is that Cline and Jonathan, who already have time in the system, are having good camps and Salomon is a draft pick.

Bills are NFL’s most popular franchise worldwide? Really?
GASabresIUFan replied to Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
But that’s why our families came here. They came for a chance to raise their families in peace. They came so that they could raise their families without fear and so that their kids, grandkids etc could have a better life. We honor them by telling their stories and instilling the bravery and work ethic into our children and grandchildren. My great-grandmother came over on a ship by herself at 13. She was supposed to travel with her older sister, but she got sick on the boat and was put off in England. My grandmother completed the crossing by herself. I am named for her and you can bet my kids know her name and story. -

I apologize and I appreciate your family’s bravery and service. My grandfathers’ emigrated to the US in the 1920’s. Their families that stayed behind were mostly murdered in the holocaust. In fact, the Nazi’s came into my families’ village in Lithuania in Sept 1940. Of the 3500 people in the village, only 5 survived the war. I donated my family’s correspondence with relatives in the village to the Holocaust Memorial in Israel. The Archivist told me that my letters, cards and photos were the first records that had of the Village’s residents. Overall I had two other cousins that survived Auschwitz. One married another survivor and raised their family in Israel. I get it. -

I'm sure someone has a photo of a yurt with a Bills Mafia flag on it. -
The Bills have typically carried only 4 or 5 LBs. I doubt they'll carry 7. That's to much roster for a position in which the Bills only play two players on gameday. I do agree that there will definitely be some hard choices for management to make. Spector looked good late last year and Ulofoshio was a current year draft pick.

So the Germans can march in the shade. How can you identify a French Army Knife? -
I should clarify how I see CB/S. I think the Bills will roster 10 players between the 2 positions. If everyone were healthy the units would look like this CB (5) - Douglas, Benford, T Johnson, Elam and Ingram with Hardy being a KR/CB6, but counted as a KR for roster purposes S (5) - Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop, Edwards, Lewis With the injuries CB (5) - Douglas, Benford, T Johnson, Elam & Ingram with Hardy being a KR/CB6 but counted as a KR for roster purposes. S (5) - Rapp, Hamlin, Lewis, Jackson & Burgess with Bishop and Edwards on IR. Once each of Bishop and Edwards get healthy, Burgess & Ingram could be on the outside looking in.

With the 1st pre-season game around the corner, I thought it would be helpful to see where the roster stands based on the news from training camp. Offense (24) QB (2) - Allen, Trubisky RB (3) - Cook, Davis, Johnson FB (1) - Gilliam TE (3) - Kincaid, Knox - camp battle (1) - Morris, Davidson - Could they keep Morris & Davidson making Gilliam expendable? WR (6) - Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, Hollins - camp battle (2) - Shavers, MVS, Claypool, Shorter, Hamler WR Notes: Shorter has been playing the gunner on special teams, MVS is finally working with the 1st team offense, Shavers has been the camp surprise and Claypool got hurt. OL - Starters (5) - Brown, Dawkins, McGovern, Torrence & Edwards OL - Depth (4) - Van Denmark, Anderson, SVP & ???? - camp battle (1) - Grable, Collins, Clapp Defense (23) DT (5) - Oliver, D Jones, A Johnson, D Williams, Carter DE (5) - Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Smoot - camp battle (1) - Jonathan, Cline, Toohill, Salomon LB (4) - Milano, Benard, Williams, Morrow - camp battle (1) - Spector, Jones, Ulofoshio. Can Spector unseat Williams or Morrow? Could they keep 5? Draft pick Ulofoshio is injured - PS? Has Jones done enough to earn a job? CB (5) - T Johnson, Douglas, Benford, Elam, Lewis - Note: Ingram has had a good camp and Hardy is the favorite as the kick returner S (4) - Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop (IR), Edwards (IR) - camp battle (2+) - with the key injuries, the Bills signed Burgess and Jackson. Lewis also playing safety. Is Hamlin now a starter? Jackson is 36 with 187 NFL games (176 starts) and Burgess has 43 games (3 starts). Specialists (4) - Ferguson (LS), Bass (PK), Martin (P) & Hardy (KR) - camp battle (1) - Isabella & Hamler (For the KR job) Of the camp battles - I see Grable winning the 4th OL backup job and Jonathan winning the 5th DE job. I thought MVS was on the way out, but I now see him on the roster as the 5th WR with Shavers and Shorter battling for WR 6. Claypool’s injury could slot him to the PS. The other really interesting battle is at TE3 between Morris and Davidson. Morris is a proven special teams ace, while Davidson is a special athlete who is now healthy. This leaves 2 jobs available. Could we see a TE4, a LB5, a CB6 or a S5 to accommodate the injuries at S and to avoid losing one of Spector, Davidson or Ingram? Given the injuries a S, I suspect they’ll start the year with a 5th safety. I’m going to assume Bishop and Edwards make the team but depending on their injuries, both could end up on the IR to start the year. I don’t think they want to lose Spector at LB. Can they get him back to the PS? Could they keep 6 DE to not lose Cline or Salomon or do you think both will clear to the PS? What about Davidson or Ingram. I think they’ll be able to the loser of Shavers vs Shorter to the PS. I also think they’ll be able to get Salomon and Ulofoshio to the PS. Not sure about Ingram, Davidson, Cline or Spector.

According the the France military. There is also a cool survey that shows that the Jets are not the most popular NFL in any county in the country. -

Camp Battles: Quintin Morris vs Zach Davidson
GASabresIUFan replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Y'all do realize that Morris only played 185 (15.89%) of the offensive plays last year. Morris' primary contribution was 312 special teams plays (72.56%). Whomever wins this camp battle is going to be primarily a special teams player. Davidson is going to have to perform amazingly in pre-season games for Morris to lose his job. -

This thread is way premature. Lets see how Davidson performs in a at least one pre-season game before giving him a roster spot.
