Yea, I think Allen not using his legs is an obvious issue right now. I get it, they want to save him for the end of the year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Allen has been nicked up at the end of the past two seasons, and the Front Office just isn't saying anything. We need to let Allen read and react at the goal line, or put his head down and move the pile forward on a QB sneak.
-
Phillips is only playing because of the injury to Daquan Jones. His snap counts earlier in the year were half of what they are now
-
Dorsey gets a game ball for his playcalling
-
Feel free to list them out, and I can list out the good plays, and then you can help determine what % of good to bad plays constitutes a good week for Dorsey. Happy to dive into it if you want to put in any effort
-
Ah, yes. Talking with a child. The Bills won the game. Let me know when you want to admit that…. Want to criticize not going for it on 4th? Sure. But the Bills won the game and we move forward.
-
Shotgun from the goal line wasn’t my favorite, 4th down to Kincaid was a good play call, Bucs did a great job managing coverages. Diggs out play was flipped for Davis, and was great throughout. McD makes the decisions on 4th and short, being conservative can be a valid criticism tonight.
-
One play doesn’t overshadow 59 other minutes
-
I see we are continuing away from facts and instead proving opinions. If we are trying to force opinions as fact, prove to me McD doesn’t go for it on 4th and short up 14 against the Chiefs in a playoff game? Because his past has shown he would. He sat back because he didn’t respect Mayfield. It worked in the end, it just made the game closer than most wanted
-
Defense gave up key plays instead of closing out, that’s on the defense. I would’ve gone for it on 4th and inches, but jeez the defense needs to close drives out
-
They brought pace and quick outlets for Allen
-
Dorsey called an incredibly good game today. Like very very good.
-
How can we prove an opinion wrong? Factually, we won the game. We played conservatively in the 4th because we didn’t respect that team on the other side. Bills won. Against the chiefs, we go for it on 4th down no questions asked
-
Also, the no holding call on Von on the RJ al drive is just crazy. That was an awful no call
-
Jesus, just got bad luck all throughout the 4th. Two washy penalties on 4th down, and missing that punt pin inside the 5. it’s a game of inches, take the win and move forward.

I think you are taking very complex situations year over year and trying to boil them down into a few sentences. We can claim whatever narratives we want, none of us are in the building day to day. Last year Frazier was the coordinator for the beginning of the season as well, where we were doing incredibly well on defense. What happened? We lost our entire secondary to injuries, and then Von went down on top of it. That's factual. From there, we have the Hamlin situation. With all of that being the case, we still were a top 5 statistical defense and went into the playoff game without several key players (Von, White, Hyde, Daquan). We were flat. But this is the NFL, perfection just doesn't happen. We sucked when it mattered. But at least we got there. That's not a total failure, its an outcome of several factors. Allen being emotionless? Yea, we can try to build a narrative there. If it means anything, he was incredibly quiet during the 13 seconds game UNTIL the final two minutes. He was incredibly quiet when we whooped the Patriots two years ago. He was full of sly emotion during the Miami game this year as we hung 48 on them. So, maybe he isn't happy, maybe he is. We dont know as we aren't in the room. Eagles players hug Nick Sirianni during games, but I have family who work in the building who tell me players dont like him and he is an ass. But the narrative to the public is everybody loves the guy. I guess our views from afar dont point a full picture. If the Bills fail to make the playoffs, it will be a problem and legitimate questions will be asked. Allen isn't going anywhere. Diggs wont go anywhere. If someone takes the fall, its McD or Dorsey. However, at 4-3 we are still in a good position and the team has shown the ability to win games over the past 4 years. I understand pessimism... you should meet my wife. I try to be a realist through being analytical with what I can prove. Nobody here can prove Allen is checked out. We can claim it to be, buts that just self-driven narrative. Wish whatever you want. Think whatever you want. For me, I'm acknowledging that the numbers and past have shown this core team can win games and make the playoffs. Right now, that's my focus, and then we will go from there. If the players called a meeting to discuss their recent hardships - fine by me. If they didn't - fine by me. The team is expected to produce results, my focus in wins and losses.

First post: "McClappy lost this team in the 13 seconds." Second post: "And how did last year turn out. I guess you and McClappy are satisfied. Keep drinking the kool-aid." So McClappy lost the team the year before 13 wins and then you implied we should not be satisfied with 13 wins and a playoff loss. So it's not a long shot to assume you are saying a lost team and a team not reaching the Super Bowl both carry the same level of negative associations. I disagree that McD lost the team at any point. McD is one of the best coaches in the league, and will adjust as this season goes on. However, only two teams make the Super Bowl every year. We have to continue to re-tool and adjust until we get over the hump.

I only took stats from the previous two seasons, where both QBs played at least 16 games.
-
So you are saying Burrow is a better passer in every phase, both mentally and in translation to physical output, but has never had more passing TDs than Allen in any season. And if Burrow is the clearly better pocket passer, who thinks the game at least two or three tiers above Allen (since I'm assuming you are weighting Allen's mobility difference to Burrow in the same way you address Burrow's advantage in processing), why isn't Burrow clearly dominating in any single statistical category in pure passing? You can reference to his completion % gap, but this year when Allen has stayed truer to the pocket, he is putting up incredible accuracy metrics. Let me take a step back. The claim is Burrow is a much more accurate thrower at every level than Allen. But Burrow ranked below Allen in deep ball accuracy last year... even though Allen threw 20 more passes downfield Burrow is claimed to be unphased and ice in his veins, and the clearly more clutch player (would love to know how that is measured), but Allen has more 4th quarter comeback wins since the two have both been in the league (9 vs. 5) Burrow is less spooked by defenses, but Burrow only has 6 less TOs than Allen (37 vs. 31). So if Burrow isn't spooked at all, then do we say Allen is only spooked a little? Because the difference here is a level, but it's not two or three tiers better. Burrow has fewer total yards, fewer total touchdowns, fewer passing touchdowns, more passing yards, fewer overall turnovers, fewer comebacks, more man games lost to injury, more playoff wins, but fewer impactful playoff performances, same amount of Super Bowl rings, and fewer wins every year they have played in the league (including this year) If you want to say Burrow is in the same league as Allen, sure. But to tell me to stop being a homer when I've tried to be analytical in my approach while you use "Doesn't get phased or spooked" and "Clutch play" as your defining factors.... maybe stop being so poor in your ability to rate quarterbacks if you are asking me to stop being a homer. Jeez my math is terrible.... you are right. Total apologies! Adjusting my list to 20 years: Greats of the game: Brady Manning Mahomes (yes, he is a great right now) Brees Rodgers Roethlisberger E. Manning (I consider all of these guys top 5 QBs of their generation, so to me they are looked at as "greats". Understand if others feel differently) MVP/Good QBs with great postseason winners: Stafford Wilson Flacco I have no idea how they won: Foles Point still remains, you need a top 5 QB to have a chance to win the Super Bowl. I believe Allen fits that criteria
-
Brees was 23 years ago. I took the last 20 winners
-
Name a single year Burrow was the "better" QB, knowing he has in fact taken his team to a super bowl, when his postseason stat line was 5 TDs 2 INTs and averaged 280 total yards a game. Yes his team won to get him to the Super Bowl, but Burrow was not the driving factor in that postseason
-
Over the last 20 years, the only QBs to win the Super Bowl are: Greats of the game: Brady Manning Mahomes (yes, he is a great right now) MVP/Good QBs with great postseason winners: Stafford Wilson Flacco I have no idea how they won: Foles Regardless, only 1 QB (Foles) who wasn't a solid top 10 QB has won a super bowl in 20 years. Allen, by all statistical and eye test measures is a top 5 QB in the game, and has been over the past 4 years. That gives him as good a shot as any to continue with the trend of Super Bowl winners. Allen is IMO the second best QB in the game right now behind Mahomes. I think he is trying to win games this year without the physical tax on the body early on, which I do believe has worn him down over the course of the past few seasons. He has the chance to turn it on at any time, so we should rest easy that Allen will put us in any game we play. Is he a robot? No. But is a QB good enough to win the Super Bowl? Absolutely.

Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
Cray51 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jones is terrible Patriots offense wont score much against us. If the Bills can put up 17 or more, they win. I expect the Bills to run Murray and Cook quite a bit, and then bring PA with Josh's legs to finish the job. 30-13 Bills -
Miami dealt a blow! - Achane out multiple weeks!
Cray51 replied to BillsDiehard's topic in The Stadium Wall
They used Achane so well to start the year. They motion him to allow him to pick up speed, and then keeps everything to the outside and can speed past linebackers. Really unfortunate for them, however they have the talent to overcome it. What you dont want, is for this to be a recurring issue for a guy who is trying to make a career. Still so young.
