  1. Maybe we should create a BillsSuck message board. 24/7 of reminders that the Bills have not made the playoffs in 17 years. We could have a whole section on Bills failures at quarterback, and a Ralph was Cheap thread. We could have strings on terrible coordinators and coaches. Hell, we can even have a Marv Levy sucks section because we never won the Super Bowl in 4 tries. We could have a ticket exchange where the "fans" who are never going to a game again could trade their tickets for trinkets. It could have an "alternatives" section on things you can do on a Sunday afternoon. Their could even be a "emotional superiority" section where the "realists" can join together and bash the "other" fans who maintain some ill founded optimism. It would be a place that those smarter than us who continue to hope, pray, wish and analyze the Bills possible success that never seems to happen but we dont care. It would defintinely make Mondays after losses less painful.
  2. We matched the Pats in time of possession, yardage, first downs and turnovers. They executed on third down, we did not with a bunch of castoff receivers. Must be Lynn's fault.
  3. Not if you trust your scouting department. I will take my chances on the 227th pick if some guys that I think has great potential is no longer there at 242. I would love to see the stats.
  4. Unless there is a sleeper that you love that lasted until the late 6th that gets picked before your new 7th and you get Leif Larsen, It happens.
  5. was he like a 2nd round pick from BYU or an actual 2nd round pick? Just curious why you felt the need to add "like"
  6. The Giants should pull a Rocky and audition some British soccer players and have them kick in London on Sunday. Maybe Eddie the Eagle
  7. You seem to be on quite a campaign. What is your alternative?
  8. No No No. You miss the point, I didn't want the Bills to pick the bad quarterback, I wanted them to pick the good quarterback. "I knew" we should have drafted Dak Prescott and Russel Wilson and to pass on the bums you mentioned. I said so right at the time. I looked at my cousin Cletus and said "Wilson fell to us, we got to pick him" and Cletus said "yup". So if Clete and I knew how could Whaley not have known. Only the Bills would allow him to get to the 3rd round. What do you mean that every other team in football had to pass on him to get to the 3rd round??? I say fire Whaley and hire Cletus>
  9. One player who comes to mind is Steve Tasker who while a tremendous special teams player (Like Alexander) was finally given a chance to play some offense late in his career and provided some quality production. He did not have a catch before age 30 and averaged 17.7 yards per catch at 33. Maybe it is possible to be too good on special teams to the point that you never get opportunites to be a regular
  10. As a fan who has been attending games since 1962 and who spent a lot of times standing in the end zone in the rockpile because the bench seats were so uncomfortable, I believe I know pretty well when to shout, when to shut up, when to stand and when to sit. So here is my plea: Dear twentysomething- Please, please please stop with the turning your back to the field and exhorting the crowd to make noise by lifting your arms in the air and screaming at them. If you want to be a damn cheerleader, go out for the Jills. I know these knuckleheads get shown on TV occasionally but I can't figure out what in the world you are doing. Often it is accompanied by having to look at the guy shirtless (I provide an exception for women). STOP, JUST STOP.
  11. I blame Harvey Johnson and Stew Barber
  12. How about 1968. We lost our first and second string QB's (Kemp and Flores) in preseason. Kemp was lost when Coach Johnny Rauch had a live scrimmage, including the QB after a bad preseason game. That left us Kay Stephenson and Dan Darragh who were both gone by game 10. Now, THAT was a bad preseason.
  13. I am going to do a rating that is based on who has the best cornerbacks under 26 because this is now a pass happy league and having good cornerbacks is the key to success Yay! I have the Bills first. Everyone feel better now
  14. As an eternal optimist and a fan who can remember Richie Lucas and 1960, I can live with the negativity. We have earned it. I just make one simple request. Can the nattering nabobs be banned from reminding us how long it has been since we made the playoffs in every thread and to make every argument. We ALL KNOW THAT. We are well aware. Thank you. I feel better now.
  15. Except for that bum, Joe Montana, who got benched in a 1987 season playoff game versus Minnesota for Steve Young. So it does happen.
  16. I will match your bad quarterbacking 85 Buffalo Bills and raise you to the bad quarterbacking 68 Buffalo Bills. How about 7 Td's, 28 INt combined with a 41.3% completion percentage. It got so bad between injuries and incompetence that we started wr/db Ed Rutkowski to finish the season. The high point of his QB career was to fumble at the one yard line on a Thanksgiving Day at the end of the game that we lost 13-10. Had he scored we would have picked 2nd in the draft instead of first and instead of OJ Simpson we would have had Leroy Keyes. So we got that going for us.
  17. I am sorry but I can't let Bills history be so inaccurate. Cookie was traded for Billy Joe. Ben Gregory was a draft choice out of Nebraska who played in the same backfield with another underrated player Mini Max Anderson a couple of years later. If Bemiller said that it had to be about Billy Joe.
  18. Underated- Tony Greene- my favorite Bills safety of all time Runner-UP - Marlin Briscoe Overrated- Kiko Alonzo in case you think the Bills are not noticed now...... During his first season as the starting FS, Greene went on to intercept nine passes, helping lead a resurgent Bills defense that was a major reason the team returned to the playoffs for the first time since 1966. The Bills went 6-2 in games where Greene had an interception that season, which was a good indicator of how important his production was. He was named a First-Team All-Pro for the season, but miraculously didn't earn a Pro Bowl invite. Greene backed up his monster season in 1974 with six interceptions the following year and five in 1976. He finally earned a Pro Bowl selection in 1977 after he once again intercepted nine passes. The safety would go on to play two more solid seasons for the Bills before retiring. He finished with 37 career interceptions, which is still second on the Bills all-time list.
  19. I simply believe that Marrone seriously underestimated other owners reaction to quitting on a team in the middle of a contract. How do you convince someone that you wont do it again if you don't like the circumstances the next time down the line. "Quitter" is one of the toughest reputations to overcome.
  20. I say we only draft wide receivers who have the same name as great golfers. Can we change it to Sammy Watson?
