  1. They need to get firsts downs to end the half.
  2. He wants bravado from the coach and not the respectful tone that most good coaches use.
  3. We need to draft a linebacker early regardless of Milano’s injury. LB and edge. And a mean OG/C, and a space eater DT.
  4. ^. The mentality of the mediocre. Why not give him credit for trying to play despite the injury and for being a team player? Nah, much easier to complain and find fault.
  5. We would be underdogs even if outr defense was last years model. Check the standings, we are 6-2. Throwing waiver wire cast offs into the starting line up is not good for them or the team.
  6. Last years front 7 was much different than this years. Star, Shaq, Jordan Phillips and Lorenzo are gone. Across the board their replacements are not playing better, the case can easily be made that they are playing worse. Milano and Edmunds are both playing injured and they are not having good seasons compared to last year. We have had injuries at corner that have taken us deep into the depth chart and to using practice squad players. Harrison Phillips is still recovering from ACL. McD and Frazier did not suddenly become stupid - last year our players we were healthier and better. Additionally, defenses across the league are worse. Lots of theories as to why. Fixing the front 7 has to be Beanes top priority. He will do that by adding better players, not new plays.
  7. We actually don’t agree. It’s more about the talent and the players execution than the playcalling. Play calling is important but you are overstating your case and your stats can support either side of the debate. The third down you are referring to - Klein missed a tackle at the LOS, and that is why the play worked so well. The. Bills were in the correct defense. The player did not execute his assignment. New England has the same coaching as last year and they are 2-5. Brady, Gronk, and a bunch of other great players are gone and replaced with far less talented players. They are losing because of talent, not play calling. Given the choice between the two I’ll take great players. Give me talent and my play calling will get much easier.
  8. I too find it hard to judge and blame play calling. To a fan, if the play works it’s a good call. Some plays don’t work because of poor execution and possibly lesser talent running the play. I think our play calling has been good on both sides of the ball. The staff and players are on a good trajectory, the single biggest need is to add a difference maker player to the front 7.
  9. I think Singletary is good, at times he hits the hole slower than I would like to see. Hoping he has more upside. Moss is still learning and we started to see him run with power last week. Need more of that but he looks promising so far. The OL has not been strong at run blocking, the Pats* game is the exception as they were finally able to take advantage of multiple DB schemes. Feliciano helped a lot.
  10. I remember him as much better than that.
  11. Sports Illustrated. Wow. I have not read one in decades. Veering off the JA subject a bit. This made me think to the days back in 6th grade when I would hurry home from school and find my new issue in the mail. I saved up my “Buffalo Evening News” newspaper money to get a subscription. Magazines and newspapers. Times have really changed. I still get the Buffalo News in a online subscription - even though I moved away 40 years ago. Thanks for the memories.
  12. Yes. ESPN is a shell of its former self. I don’t waste a minute of time on it.
  13. Football fans across the country see and understand the strides the Bills are making. Right now they look like the top team in the AFCE, possibly a playoff home game win, and that could be their ceiling for the season. That would be a good step. Like the progression most teams have to make before they are ready to win it all. National Spotlights and big media are for those who crave attention.
  14. Really? Nothing about the addition of Diggs? Allen’s improved play?
  15. The guy has an opinion and cherry picked the stats he needed to back it up. Miami is improving for sure. The Bills are having their best season so far under the McBeane regime. Let’s settle it on the football field.
  16. Yes indeed. McDermott is very well respected around the league. I’m so glad we have him and Beane. I would run the team using the Pittsburgh model and keep them a long time because they will win. Just a matter of time on that.
  17. I douBt we see Morse. Lot of people liking Bates but Boettger graded highest on our OL last week. If Ford is ready how about he replaces Winter and Boettger stays at LG. Let’s keep building continuity.
  18. Gives the Pats* one more chance.
  19. I love to see stats prove these downer fans wrong. Every game is hard. Every win is important. There are a handful of plays every game that separate winning from losing. Yesterday our guy, Zimmer, made the last big play of the game. We win. How many times did we lose to the the Pats* because they made more big plays in close games? The complaints about this team and McDermott are irrational. Especially when you consider how long we waited for a winning team. McDermott says you have to earn the right to win. He is correct. When you do you should not apologize for it.
  20. Who should we hire after Pegula fires McDermott and Beane walks?
  21. Agree. I played some center. There, is timing, feel ( no jokes) and trust on assignments and line calls. In the shotgun it makes a bigger difference in accuracy and speed.
  22. Actually I said the free agent pickups improved us without hurting the cap. This past season not so much. I agree the front 7 is not good enough. Star out, Lorenzo not adequately replaced, Phillips struggling after the ACL, Edmunds and Milano playing hurt. He missed on the LB depth.
  23. Ok. Fair. You can be skeptical. He is not perfect.
  24. nothing impressive- like ending a 17 year playoff drought with 2 playoffs in 3 years while in the middle of a rebuild. Like helping to changethe way the team is perceived by veteran players. Like having us sitting at 6-2 with strong chance of winning a division title for the first time in 20 years. That is impressive and the best is yet to come.
