Ex Bills TE Logan Thomas Quietly Having a Great Season
JohnNord replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not saying that Thomas is a great TE or comparing him to the Bills TE’s. I’m just saying that he was a player that showed a lot of athleticism as a TE is finally doing some good things. I remember when he was in Buffalo, his wife tragically lost their baby girl. The positive way the family handled the situation was inspiring. It made me want to root for Logan ever since. Things didn’t work out in Buffalo but it looks like he should have a spot in the NFL for years to come. I -
Former Bills Tight End Logan Thomas made the highlight reel today for throwing a nice 28 yard pass to set up a Washington score and catching a nice little goal line TD. I knew that Thomas was kicking around the league but what I didn’t realize is that he’s putting together a very nice season for Washington. Currently he has 34 catches for 328 yards and 4 TD’s. These aren’t earth shattering numbers - it’s probably why we haven’t heard much about him this season. But they do put him in the top half of TE’s in the league. Also, it’s definitely not bad productivity for a player who couldn’t get on the field much for the Bills. I remember the potential that you’d see him in occasionally when Thomas was trying to crack the lineup in Buffalo. Glad that he’s finally realizing it in Washington a few seasons later. He seemed to be a pretty good dude and I’m genuinely happy for him.

This article was ok. It wasn’t as amazing as some on Twitter thought, a little overrated. It was long and bloated. Isn’t it funny how all former Bills GM’s were *this* close to making the right decision. - Buddy Nix was all on board for drafting Russell Wilson....yet he took TJ Graham before him - Doug Whaley wanted Khalil Mack....but Marrone insisted he drafted offense so they took Sammy Watkins. - Whaley had a 3rd/4th round grade on EJ Manual and publicly said he was behind the pick when things were good...yet since EJ sucked it was all Buddy’s doing. Not his. I The revisionist history here is crazy

Cowboys S&C Coach passes away, RIP
JohnNord replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a devastating season for the entire Cowboys organization -
I like Ty Dunne but I would put him in the same boat with Matthew Fairburn as reporters who are out to prove that McDermott isn’t as good as the praise he receives around the league There’s a ton of revisionist history with Mahomes. I can completely believe that Terry wanted to draft him but didn’t want to usurp his newly higher Ed coach (something another Bills owner had no problem doing). The reasons why the Bills didn’t draft Mahomes have been discussed many times. It had to do more with the fact that McDermott didn’t trust Whaley who was about to be fired and had pretty lousy at his job. In the end it was the wrong. Knowing what he turned into the Bills should’ve drafted him, but again... in hindsight Mahomes would’ve been an easy #1 pick if we knew his potential.

Josh Norman activated from Covid 19 reserve list
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would make sense. He tends to struggle against fast WR’s but it seems like he’s so decent in the slot -
I wanted an upgrade from Levi this year but he holds his own most of the time, which is more then you can say about Daryl Worley

The Bills Aren't a Top-Tier Team Yet
JohnNord replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t agree with everything here - especially the “built to peak in December” line. Is their record better than metrics like DVOA? Maybe. But DVOA also rates Miami as a much better team than they are in reality. Also I believe Baltimore had the highest highest DVOA and they got bounced in the first round of the playoff game. Im not as sold on point differential either. Looking at the stat alone to define a good team lacks a lot of context. With that being said, you did a good job summing job the team. They can pass and stop the pass but can’t run or stop the run. I see KC in a league of their own, maybe Pittsburgh based on record, but I think Buffalo is right there with about 6 other AFC teams. -
Who Is Your Favorite Bills Long Snapper Of All time?

True...but any playoff matchup will be tough. -
It’s official. The New York Jets legendarily suck!
JohnNord replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. Adam Gase is the best thing to happen to the Jets and we should regard him as the true genius he is. The Johnson’s should give him a lifetime contract!! -
It was an odd move considering it was only a 10 point game at the time of the move. It eminded me of all those times over the past two seasons when Josh struggled and fans would demand Matt Barkley. It was explained ad naseum why you don’t pull your rookie QB. Flores literally did it! It just seems like a quick shortsighted move

Who is your favorite Place Kicker in Bills history?
JohnNord replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has to be Steve Christie. It was such a breath of fresh air to have a kicker that you could rely on especially after the last few years of Scott Norwood. Christie was so dependable during his first year with the Bills. He hit the wall toward the end but you always felt confident he’d make a pressure kick when you needed him to. Second favorite is Steve Hauschka. He had a great season for Buffalo in 2018 and 2019 but never was the same after the Henry Anderson cheap shot -
Saints to start Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really....People talk about him like he’s the biggest piece of trash to ever play the position. There’s a pattern there... same way they used to talk about Josh -

I don’t know - there’s a certain profile rof QB that analysts seem to hate - The tall, strong, athletic, strong armed but inaccurate, sometimes religious, All-American white dude QB. Analysts seem to slam these QB’s and compare them to Christian Hackenberg and then a ome fans seem to follow suit. You saw this with Josh Allen...then Daniel Jones and Drew Locke. Hill seems to get a lot of that venom -
Saints to start Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll never get the hatred that some fans and the media have for Hill. Everyone he touches the ball, people want to point how much he sucks. He hasn’t exactly blown me away his play either but I can accept that he is what he is - a gadget player. I just don’t feel he should be as polarizing as he currently has been -
Yes it is possible....which is why it’s foolish to only blame the coaching staff for not having a good “feel of the game” as this thread did. Personally I didn’t have a problem with the call. I did have a problem with the execution from Addison for not containing the edge. I don’t see how you can blame coaching for that play
-
Fans love to blame coaches or coordinators because it’s easier than calling out players. The bottom line is that even with the timeout, Mario Addison was in a perfect position to affect the QB. Had he stuck on Murray rather than trying to dive at his feet, it’s unlikely Murray sees Hopkins and very unlikely he throws the ball to that exact spot.

Joshs development has been amazing
JohnNord replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha yes! It’s actually surprising how many fans (myself included) as well as other analysts and media members allowed this crew to completely shape their opinion that Allen was going to bust and that Rosen was THE choice at pick 7. -
Well I disagree. On the list of priorities he’s down there, but I don’t really feel that overall he’s consistently pinned the ball deep. He’s average at best, maybe below-average for a punter IMO
-
I think there’s no doubt that a healthy Matt Milano will help the defense. The concern many of us have is the defensive line - in particular the middle of the d-line. It seems like there aren’t any good players who can play 1 technique DT. - Vernon Butler is probably the best option but he hasn’t played great and has struggled to stay healthy. - Quentin Jefferson is better suited for DE - Harrison Phillips hasn’t been good - Justin Zimmer is probably better at 3 technique Until we find someone who can give us competent play next to Ed Oliver, I can’t see this team improving drastically against the run
-
Like I said, it seems like he struggles pinning teams teams deep. Other punters seem to do a better job. Are you challenging my point that he’s inconsistent? Because I think a 12 shank in perfect weather pretty much illustrates my point Careful there’s atleast one Bojo-stan in this thread

Joshs development has been amazing
JohnNord replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt and there’s a few lessons you can learn here: - Data is important but not the ultimate decision maker - “NFL people” might know a little more than than the analytics crew - most who have never played or worked in the NFL - Don’t underestimate a team’s long-term plan to develop a player vs perceived natural ability/performance...especially a QB. - Writing off a player on draft day and routining against them, makes you look like a jackass -
Joshs development has been amazing
JohnNord replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, considering so much of the media told us thst Allen destined to be failure due to advanced analytics. Sam Monson, Mena Kimes, Cian Fahey, A-Ron Schatz et al -
He also has very few punt this year. When was the last time he stuck a team inside the 5 like other punters do? You can’t disagree that he’s been inconsistent this season
