Urban just can’t quit Tebow! (Update - Cut by Jags)
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said this happens all the time in sports. Athletes are competitors and want to play as long as they can Tebow made more working for ESPN and he’d be more visible on National TV than as TE3. It’s pretty obvious that he wanted to take advantage of what likely will be his final chance to play pro football. -

This is 100% true… you get the circus in town with Tebow. -

You’re really reaching. He tried out because he wants to play in the NFL. How many athletes have retired and then attempted to make a comeback? -

Explain how he gloats and seeks the spotlight? He was a very high profile college athlete so of course he’s going to have a “team” as most athletes do. It seems to me that this is your personal bias, because I haven’t heard any athletes or colleagues who know Tebow claim that he is the primadonna that you make him out to be. I also can’t find one example of Tebow gloating. Everyone has regarded him as a great person and his act is far from performative This is bull####. Tebow is open about his faith for sure and that’s a big reason why many don’t like him. But to say he’s disingenuous just is not the case. Not 1 persons who’s worked closely with Tebow has accused him of anything other than being a good person and teammate -
Zay doesn’t make the roster if he’s a Bill

That’s a hell of a stretch to justify the hatred and vitriol I’ve seen on Twitter -
The interesting thing is that all of the SB contenders (Bills, Chiefs, Bucs, Packers) are returning with a ton of continuity. As far as I know, the majority of their coaching staff and most of their rosters will be back. KC will have a different OL but that is likely to their benefit I think we’ll get to see how important continuity will be for those teams this year

Tebow is conservative but to my knowledge he has never been outspoken or hateful. -

I’ll agree with you on the latter point. I’m gauging the comments on Twitter - many of which come from performative users who are so concerned about treated others better but still go out of their way to slam Tebow’s. It just comes off as intolerant and ultimately hypocritical. I guess that’s Twitter though. There are plenty of football-related issues that you could knock Tebow for. His faith shouldn’t be one of them. -

There’s way more lot of hate than “blind devotion.” I don’t think people like Tebow only for his religion. It’s because he was so likable and fun to watch in college. On the other hand, I feel a lot of the hate comes from people who just want to hate on him because he’s open with his religion. -

The hatred of Tebow is so toxic. It’s funny how some on Twitter with references to empathy, tolerance, and equality on their profile have not problem bashing Tebow for his religious views. Whether you agree with that view or not, he’s regarded as someone with high character that has helped others in need. Unlike other athletes, no one has ever accused of him or being performative or not genuine. The fact that his old college coach gave him an extended tryout should’ve be surprising. You see nepotism happen all the time in the NFL. As far as his playing ability, it’s clear he never had the skill to play QB at a high level. Watching teams like NO try to use Taysome Hill does make you think that a coach like Sean Payton could’ve found a way to use Heisman Tebow from 2009. -
This is actually a good point. While I wouldn’t consider KC to a “paper Tiger,” and expect them to contend for the AFC again, I do think they played their best football game of the season against Buffalo in the AFCCG. They didn’t look anywhere near as good in the other two post season games or down the stretch of the season. Saying they were “bored” is a lazy excuse. I can’t ever recall the Patriots being “bored” as the season wore on. Again - I’m not saying that KC is overrated but if you follow anyone of the analytics crew - they constantly preach about point differential from the previous season

UB Bulls popping up all over on Thursday

I’ve seen a lot of good press from Philly about the performance of Jackson this year. I think he makes the team…hopefully he gets a shot. -
Whatever. I wouldn’t say that it sucks. Just that I know I wouldn’t get the value out of a subscription. I pay for the Athletic and have always shared summaries from articles that I felt would be interesting for other members, without trying to shame them for not being subscribers There’s 87 pages! I must have missed that.

That might be her role now but I do believe that they hired her to be a team “reporter” like Chris Brown.

So Cynthia basically is replacing Maddy Glab or taking most of the important duties away from her It doesn’t appear to be the case

Or her contract with NFLN wasn’t renewed….
