  1. I hate losing Douglas, but 10 mil is a lot of savings when you have the DB's we do. There's going to be some tough losses this offseason, and this appears to be one of them. That's 25% of our cap fix with one player.
  2. To pay for THE RIGHT to buy tickets....🤦‍♂️
  3. I could see Knox being a team guy and renegotiating, even taking less, to stay with Josh and the team.
  4. I’m a huge Knox fan and we could all the see potential in him. At the time of the extension, there was no way to see Kincaid falling into our laps. With that being said, I believed at the time we overpaid as I don’t think any other team would have given him even close to that much money. Granted, if we actually start using him again alongside Kincaid for the weapons they can be, money well spent. Sadly, we don’t seem to have that playcalling capacity
  5. Someone woke up and chose violence today
  6. I have to think this is a stall tactic until they can sign him and Chase to a long term deal. However, paying Joe 50+ and Higgens/Chase 30+ per is insane to me. Yes, I'm assuming those will be the numbers on the receivers, but I can't imagine I'll be too far off. Bengals have 74 mil in cap space, which is also insane to me. Burrow won't really hit the books for another two years, but still. 110 mil for 3 guys.
  7. Chiefs have 28 mil in cap space. They can easily bring back Jones and add pieces. Hooray
  8. McD respectfully disagrees. I'm a firm believer that McD joined the NFL committee just to petition fielding teams made up solely of DB's
  9. Yes, I was thinking about that deal too. In that case, if I'm remembering correctly, it didn't save the dead cap hit, just the salary portion. I could be wrong though
  10. I think the NFL should allow teams to trade dead cap space away. If a team has the cap space and wants draft picks, let them make that decision. I'm going to get flamed, but I would trade a 2nd round pick, Knox, and Von to someone if that took their contracts off our books completely without a hit
  11. Chiefs won that trade in hindsight. Same as the Pats won the draft they took Brady in hindsight. It drives me nuts when people want to play the "what if" game, when in the moment, no one had strong opinions on it. I'm not coming at you Doc, you were just the first post I looked at because you're so damn sexy
  12. Every team in the league had the chance to hire Reid and draft Mahomes and didn't. How is it on the Bills specifically? I couldn't remember his name either, but I remember what you're talking about. That might be the only person who can say "I told you so." I was very against Mahomes, or anyone else who played in that spread offense style. Any QB prior who came from that system failed horribly in the NFL. Similar to Stroud, I I wouldn't have taken an Ohio State QB due to their history of bombing at the NFL level.
  13. For what it's worth, the Chiefs still would have gotten him at 27 😜. (Yes, I know it's a mock) https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/story/_/id/19241424/2017-nfl-nation-mock-draft-cleveland-browns-get-myles-garrett-texas-aggies-mitchell-trubisky-north-carolina-tar-heels
  14. And if that is the case, not saying you are wrong, that gives even more forgiveness to the McD. I will never care what the owner wants, same as fans. We have no idea what we are talking about. If he was projected that late, no one can blame the Bills for passing. Now if you want to argue what to draft first, the trenches and support roles or the QB, sure. But I agree with how McD did it. Technically, the Chiefs did the same thing because they let Mahomes sit the entire first year
  15. Something I've never understood, is when a deal can be re-worked without penalty vs a deal that creates dead money. For example, let's just say Von Miller. Is there any way for them to throw out his old deal and sign him to a new 1 year deal? I feel like the answer is no, as the Saints proved with their ongoing plan to kick the can down the road. I also understand that the player needs to be on board for the new contract. But overall, what are the rules with this? I keep hearing about deals where the old contract is essentially torn up, but I just don't get the logistics.
  16. https://apnews.com/article/dolphins-emmanuel-ogbah-released-78cbf70f895cf169f8d8e1dbebc03e95 Obgah released as well. Saved 13.7 million in cap space
  17. I wouldn't trade Josh Allen for anything. Keep Mahomes' wife and brother the hell away from this team. People used to ask if I would trade for Brady or the Hoodie for one ring, and I said no. Same answer with Mahomes. Also, absolutely no one could have predicted Mahomes was going to have the career he's had. He fell to 10 for a reason. Yes, some people thought he had potential, but at the time, no one was harping on the Bills for that trade
  18. I still think it's 2023. I meant the 2025 cap hit 🤦‍♂️
  19. That's a crazy 2025 dead cap hit. Wouldn't it make more sense to restructure or extend him?
  20. Here starts the beginning of them needing to clear 51 mil in cap space
  21. Wait, you like Bama? This is brand new information!
  22. I don’t get this. Didn’t he sign a one year deal? How is there a cap hit this year?
  23. He should ask for a refund from his dealer
  24. Another game manager who wasn't really getting paid. I'm not saying it's not impressive and he doesn't deserve credit for making it to the SB, I'm just saying they allocate their resources very differently
  25. I'd argue they wouldn't have made it to the SB if Lance was their QB. They got lucky with Purdy, both with his abilities and salary. Once they have to pay him, or anyone at the position, other positions will suffer.
