  1. He wasn't Doing His Job in the first half. Not setting the edge and containing, which is crucial to McD's defense. Hopefully he improves.
  2. The Bills LB, by design and like a lot of LB in the NFL now a days, are "tweeners" designed to be strong in pass coverage. That makes it axiomatic that if an offense is able to man handle our DL and get to the 2nd level, they're going to struggle. It's my problem with PFF grades. They look for plays - plays made or not made. But football is the ultimate team game, the ultimate chess match. They don't assess what is the effect on the LB of the DL getting their asses handed to them, or losing contain on the run. Spoiler: it's bad
  3. Why do we bother with PFF grades? C'Mon man.
  4. Eh. The defense showed flashes. I thought they were rusty AF and got better as the game went on. If the D doesn't force 2 punts and a fumble, in the 4Q when you'd think they'd be tired and dispirited from Henry running over them all day, we lose. I don't understand the "weren't at full strength but we clearly were" part. We were starting a late round rookie at CB - wasn't the plan White or Hairston? And Benford looked as though there was still something up with him. Safety I have to put down as the weakest spot. We're giving Bishop every chance to lose the safety job because of his upside, and so far he's not looking like he's growing into the job. And that wasn't the DL McDermott planned on as an upgrade. We'll see how next week goes down. D didn't look good, but I don't see how they're at full strength, either
  5. WaPo take on the game. Should be a guest article, readable without subscription https://wapo.st/3JKf3O5 "The Ravens found a new way to dominate and lose"
  6. Also historically, outside of a bake oven we've beaten them - but it's not like they've been run out of the stadium, they've hung in their and played us very tough
  7. Yes, I felt they were very rusty. Particularly I thought Rapp and Bishop were neither in the right place nor on the same page. A few other comments: -That TD reception by Coleman on the deflected ball! Sometimes if you've gotta choose between Lucky and Good, pick Lucky. -Watching Allen sling it to Coleman all over the field, zip it into Kincaid between defenders, then hearing Cris Collinsworth adenoidal intonations about how Allen trusts Shakir in a way he doesn't trust anyone else on the field. Trust This, Cris! -Refs were in playoff form on a few of those no-calls. Keon Coleman needs a tear-away jersey Never mind, he who laughs last laughs best, and this called for an almighty case of disbelieving but delighted laughter
  8. I don't know, seems appropriate actually
  9. Don't you mean to ask about Raven? I think they're good stewed. Someone asked a friend of mine the difference between a crow and a raven. It seems a crow has 7 pinion feathers while a raven has 8. So the difference between a crow and a raven is a matter of a pinion. (note to ornithologists: It's A Joke)
  10. I mean, he did that with his hit piece on McDermott as well: said he interviewed a huge number of current and former Bills players and coaches. What that statement hides, is how many of those sources he actually drew from for the major themes of the piece. I can talk to 32 people, but if I only use information from 3 or 4 of them for the major themes and points of my piece, why bother?
  11. Babich and McD are advertising for Strong to get the start. Remains to be seen if it's false advertising designed to get Ravens coaches and receivers scurrying for whatever film they can find.
  12. Bleacher Nation has an article on the Ty Dunne article https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2025/09/05/tyler-dunne-caleb-williams/ Where have we seen something that "reads like a hit piece" before? The author of the BN piece suggests this as alternative viewpoint: https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2025/09/05/caleb-williams-post-0905/ You're spot on with the first part. But I think you have cause and effect mixed up. When Ty Dunne was let go from Bleacher Report, he decided he wanted to try to make a living at writing long articles modern journalism doesn't have much time for. But it turns out, writing long, balanced and fair articles doesn't attract a lot of readership. Dunne discovered if he can slant his articles with a controversial take, well, that brings him more subscriptions and more money. So he abandoned traditional journalism for muckracking. Apparently, it works.
  13. Well, actually, there are a number of bigger liars but I know what you mean: "don't over-react to one game, especially the first game" is valid
  14. It's a great try but unless you enlist a mod to move posts and reply posts, my Magic 8 Ball says not gonna help
  15. I think it has to do with preconceptions. Coming into the league, Lamar was a limited passer. He was very accurate on a limited vocabulary of throws, and teams learned if they took those away they could shut him down. To his credit, Jackson worked his ass off becoming a complete throwing QB and he's now a very complete, very good passing QB, but people still view him through the lens of their preconceptions. There are people who still see Allen through their preconceptions ("couldn't hit the broadside of a barn") as well, of course. The difference is that for several years, the Bills had a mediocre run game, so for the Bills to win, all eyes were on the passing game and it was clear how much Allen had grown as a passer.
  16. Coleman wasn't even listed on the injury report they posted on their website. And wtf with all the "groins"? White has a groin...Benford has a groin.... Coleman has a groin... Bass has a hip/groin What are these guys doing with their groins?
  17. So Benford was limited with a lower leg injury (per McDermott) but showed up on injury report with a groin? And White is also listed with a groin (and amusingly, his photo still has him in a Ravens uni) https://www.buffalobills.com/team/injury-report/
  18. You mean Benford? He said White DNP
  19. That's basically it. I don't have cable. I don't want cable. I also don't want to pay for half-a-dozen platforms. If I could pay some reasonable legal fee per game to watch over WiFi, I would prefer that.
  20. If this is is now the level of contribution you, as a Chiefs fan, intend to make to this board, please Blondie yourself
  21. And yet....the Rams, in that high-distraction LA environment, have had a pretty successful team since 2017, with 2 Superbowl appearances, 1 Championship, and playoffs 6 out of 8 years So apparently, the right coach and the right makeup of the team can overcome the environment and all its distractions
  22. You can't cut an injured player. I'm pretty sure you know this. At best, you release him with an injury settlement, and since the RTP for an Achilles tear is 9 to 12 months, no player is going to accept a settlement less than the entire season. You get the roster spot whether he's IR or released, and you owe the full salary, so why not go for the better optics and keep him? My guess would be he was working through something and that's why he looked so bad in pre-season, and either it got worse, or after long enough of not getting better they told him he had to get more tests. Wishing him the best and a good recovery.
