Hooo lordy, if you wanna see a frustrating defense check out Dallas Green Bay. Cheeseheads, that's Swiss Cheese. That was supposed to be the #1 D in the league going into this game. Yeah Dallas getting shredded too, but we knew they had problems. -

Spags? He had his shot 2x. Rams 2009-2011 and Giants (interim) 2017 He took a 1-15 team (his 1st year) to 7-9 his 2nd year (missed playoffs by 1 game) then back to 2-14 his 3rd year. A lot went into that, but his huge mistake was, when Pat Shurmer left to become HC in Cleveland, he hired Josh McDaniels as OC, fresh off disaster as the Broncs HC Anyway, the story on him seems to be he's a brilliant DC who is over his head as a HC. -

You know, it's entirely possible Lamar is injured in a way that would exacerbate if he's out there. I like our guy better, but it's really a bad look to put down another team's player like this. "he doesn't look all that hurt to me" LOL short of blood running down his face or a bone sticking out of his leg how can you possibly tell? https://www.nfl.com/news/ravens-qb-lamar-jackson-suffers-hamstring-injury-in-game-vs-chiefs This is a regular season game, and it's a long season. -
Where and when do I find out who sits on game day?

Twitter. Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Bills PR, Sal Capaccio, Joe Buscaglia. Sal often breaks it first, seems like. -

The Ravens historically have a tough, physical defense. This ain't that thing. -

Goodness, I was hoping for a Game. But this is a Shambles. The Giants played KC tougher than this. -

You know there's a fine line between a guy who tries to extend the play (because he's had good success with that) and a guy who doesn't when to throw it away? Our guy habitually steps that line as well. -

Van Demark was a calculated risk to keep as our backup swing tackle last season. He started as strictly a LT, and the thought was he's improved enough to hold down the fort at RT. They may need to re-think that thought. -

I told y'all guys the Saints moved the ball on Seattle. It was their ST miscues against the SeaSnakes that gave Seattle 21 points on a platter and put them deep in a hole in the 1Q, that and not being able to punch it in. Well, their ST came out hot, and they moved the ball on us. We just moved the ball on them better. -

Dude. Josh had a pick on 3rd and 11 from the Buffalo 12 yard line. We would have been punting from our end zone. And did you see how aggressive NO punt coverage unit was being? Reid Ferguson had a false start and an offensive hold. He has 1 career offensive holds - back in 2017. He has two (2) false starts in his career, last one in 2022. Something was up there. We had a net punting average of 36 yds today. Josh's pass was intercepted on the 49 yd line and that's where it stayed. Essentially that pass was a punt, from a down and distance where actually punting might have been problematic today. -

Agreed. Factually, there was one OH called on NO. But somehow, there were defensive holds on our DBs AND offensive PI/ offensive holding on our WR but nothing on NO? I don't know, it just seems a bit as though the refs were trying to keep NO in the game. Had family members who bet against the spread or something. -

Felt sloppy, WAS sloppy. Yikes. But we got the win so. McDermott will not be happy with all the pre-snap penalties. 11 for 55 yds. Of those, 5 were pre-snap penalties. 3 false start penalties (Dawkins, Ferguson, Edwards) 1 illegal shift on Palmer Defensive too many men on field (OUCH) Of interest: Reid Ferguson, who is usually solid AF, was called for a false start once and for offensive holding once. Given that Johnson was actually hit and hurt while punting, I have to wonder if someone on the NO side was jumping the gun and not being flagged for it, and Ferguson was trying to protect his guy. The Defensive too many men on field is bad Lots to clean up. -
Um, you have to ask who would have been better who was on the team at the time? Your turn

In the sense that Saleh is talking about, all NFL teams try to do it. They subscribe to services like PFF that track plays called or defenses used by down and distance and personnel on the field. They look for tendencies and patterns. They look for tells in the cadence and the movement of the QB's hands - early on, Peyton Manning called out a "tell" he spotted with Josh Allen and told him during a Manningcast to correct it. And yes, the Chiefs have done this to the Bills. Probably the most effective was the 2020 playoff game, where the Chiefs had a whole season of empty stadium play calls to analyze and they did it. What Saleh is saying is that McVay's coaching tree is very successful, more successful than most, and the Jags among them. He's not saying that the Jags or anyone are doing what the Cheatriots did, where they were videotaping practices, intercepting radio feeds, and recording opponents sidelines.

Also, as far as I can tell, Spencer Rattler now is nothing like Josh Allen was then.

I went through the play by play. Yes, they were down 38-6 by halftime. @SoCal Deek pointed out that many metrics were relatively close between the teams: 21 1D for NOR vs 22 for SEA; 218 pass yards vs 233 pass yards; 79 rush yards vs 87 rush yards So clearly, NO was moving the ball, and especially, they had 3 long drives in the 1st half. That was my point: NOR was moving the ball. A major difference in the game was a couple of ST miscues (punt return TD for SEA, blocked punt for SEA) that led to early scores (also a 60 yd kickoff return) Another major difference was NOR just not being able to punch it in on those 3 long drives. They settled for 2 FG and had a missed FG (which of course, gave SEA another excellent field position). While SEA, as you note, did punch it in.

"When and IF"??

A propos of a post I made answering a Q what happened with SEA? NO was moving the ball and accumulating a lot of yards. They got pig-piled by SEA due to a couple of early ST miscues (PR for TD, blocked punt) So they're still an NFL team.

How does the fact that the penalty isn't called impact whether or not it's a rules violation? And if it's a deliberate rules violation (not inadvertant), what do you call it? Just ducky? In the case of KC, it was coordinated and deliberate. Cheating. In the case of the Eagles coordinated and deliberate false starting, it's also Cheating. Do you guys think a theft that isn't reported or charged, somehow isn't a crime or something? I think I'd be beating a dead horse to continue here, but Wow.
