  1. I would think that McDermott`s designation of a game management coach in March (Marc Lubick) is essentially an admission that he wasn`t very good at it.
  2. The Colts claim that it will be an open battle between their 4th round draft choice Jacob Eason and Chad Kelly for #3 QB but I assume nobody believes that. Barring injuries Kelly has no chance to be on the Colts roster this year. Probably best start looking for alternative careers.
  3. Crazy. You would think that he had enough money to not try to take advantage of people during a crisis. As the old saying goes -- no-one has ever gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
  4. You will probably get your chance. The obvious next step is some kind of franchise pyramid scheme. I never realized Guerrero was so slimy. No wonder Bellichek wouldn`t allow him in camp.
  5. Did they ever admit anything with the cheerleader scandal? Pressuring cheerleaders to escort sponsors and pose topless seems to me to be a higher level.
  6. Plenty failed -- Albert Haynesworth, Josh Gordon just off the top of my head but I am sure there are plenty others.
  7. I agree. There is no need to bash a guy just because he is not on the Bills anymore. Shaq was pretty good the last half of 2018 and better than that in 2019. Clearly the Bills wanted him back. Beane said so at the post season press conference. The Bills made a competitive offer to Shaq (versus Jordan Phillips who they did not make an offer to). They just didn't want him as much as the Dolphins. Maybe they didn't match because they were thinking of Addison as an alternative during the Lawson negotiations but obviously we will never know.
  8. I really thought after the Philadelphia-Washington-Cleveland stretch where the Bill's run defense got gashed that the league had figured something out about the Bill's defense, I was very impressed that they were able to make adjustments and essentially shut down the opponent run game the rest of the year. I assume that at least some of the credit had to go to a more disciplined Edmunds (though probably most is due to Frazier and McDermott),
  9. So your saying that the statement was taken out of context and blown all out of proportion. I`m shocked, shocked, that there is taking out of context going on here
  10. Serious question. Why do people think the 71% fg last year is not relevant? Was he injured? Was there some other reason?
  11. I am sure it was not a coincidence that she chose a meaningless game to do this rather than, say, the Ravens game. I assume she didn't want to affect the coaches. No big deal although it would certainly be a issue if she does this all the time. I noticed that there was an another article saying that the most important thing she looks for in a coach is authenticity. I assume that is a lesson learn from the Rex Ryan fiasco.
  12. Sorry, I don`t get it. 71% on fg last year, longest career fg is 50 yards and everybody thinks he is a sure thing. This year`s Duke Williams?
  13. Mehta was pro-Gase when the Jets hired Gase but that changed pretty quickly. Mehta is not a great judge of coaches -- he also criticized the Jets when they fired Rex Ryan.
  14. I am not saying Mehta is not right -- just that the article is a rehash of general jets stuff that is not specific to Adams. Mehta does seem to have something personal again Gase but Gase has done enough publicly (such as throwing players under the bus in press conferences and posting player fines in the training facilities plus all the stuff that former Dolphins said) that I believe that many players hate playing for him.
  15. Not that it is not true, but these are just random generalities from Mehta most of which is not even about Adams. One can hardly trust what Mehta says about Gase.
  16. If Hauschka gets beaten out and Beane still gets something for him, I truly would believe that Beane is a wizard.
  17. Coaches are conservative about kicking and no one knows how a kicker will do when the game is on the line until they are actually in that situation. My guess is if its anywhere close in training camp they will keep Hauschka. Possibly with the expanded roster they can keep both.
  18. Unfortunately masks are only effective if most people use them. Masks don't really protect the wearer (maybe a little), it protects the people around the wearer. Wearing a mask is a minor inconvenience. To me wearing a mask in an indoor public place is a courtesy similar to turning your face when you sneeze. When and how opening occurs should be a political issue. Masks should not have been a political issue. It should just be common sense.
  19. Fracking has not been profitable for many years. https://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article/will-fracking-industry-debts-set-off-financial-tremors/ https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-shale-outlook/u-s-shale-producers-to-tap-brakes-in-2020-after-years-of-rapid-growth-idUSKBN1Z108U Both articles are from well before the COV-19 impact on oil prices. The Pegulas were very smart (or lucky) to sell when they did. The Sabres payroll was the fifth highest in the NHL. It makes sense that if things aren't working, you don't continue doing it.
  20. Excellent point there. The same applies to last season -- the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins and Bills had similar schedules (taking out the games played within the division) so an argument that the Bills had an easy schedule in 2019 also applies for all the other teams in the division.
  21. The guy obviously does not do well at casinos. It's probability 101.
  22. I would be curious how often someone actually changes a posted opinion based solely on message board arguments, i.e., 1. Person A posts an opinion "e.g., A.J. McCarron is a good NFL qb" 2. Person B makes counter arguments. 3. Person A changes opinion based solely on the message board arguments (and not because AJ goes out and plays badly). I am guessing this almost never happens. Most discussions quickly devolve into people repeating the same arguments in slightly different ways eventually degenerating into name calling. Entertaining and harmless on a Bills fan board but it makes me very worried when it come to politics.
  23. The idea that the Bills didn't want Shaq Lawson is revisionist history. In one of Beane`s first postseason press conferences he said that they were going to make a strong effort to resign Shaq but Jordan Phillips had earned the right to test the free agent market. So most likely the Bills made an offer but did not feel he was worth what the Dolphins were offering. Of course it is also possible the Bills matched but he was mad about them not picking up the option the previous year, or because of warmer weather, lower taxes and/or closer to home.
  24. I thoroughly enjoyed the first couple of episodes. Thanks for pointing this out.
  25. Maybe I am being too cynical but most of his pay is in bonuses. I wouldn`t be super surprise if he gets something extra next year to make up for foregoing his salary this year.
