The whole bills dline got pancaked immediately like three times in a row on that last drive haha idk if we got caught with subs in or what. I find it hard to blame taron for anything down the stretch in that game I was sure that was gonna be a pick watching him line that up from the stands 😂. Looked like an outfielder misjudging a deep fly ball in my softball league lol

The national media narrative since the Bills won

We definitely had two of the three best rushing defenses in the league scratching their head a bit about how we were running the ball so well the past few games. Pretty good warmup for the KC game… you don’t get to say this often but that’s probably the worst rush defense we will see in this three game stretch lol still good but Baltimore and Denver were elite if we were to beat KC, Washington beating Philly would be massive. I don’t think Washington could stop us -

I think we kind of caught Baltimore by surprise running the football effectively in the first half because no one has really been able to do that on them and their second half adjustment was to key in on that mostly. The execution in the passing game just got pretty sloppy in half two, you’ve gotta be able to hit on those second/third and medium situations in the passing game consistently with how balanced our offense is and we just whiffed on a makeable play to Kincaid and Josh oddly checked into a TE screen to Knox the two times we punted in the second half. I do think Balt got away with some holds as they often do but that’s to be expected in playoff football and will continue against kc. Looked like Shakir got held pretty bad one of those drives we get held to a fg. I don’t think Brady called as bad/conservative of a game as it seemed in the moment. Heck the te screen wasn’t even a bad read by Josh numbers wise but he probably shouldn’t have trusted Knox to pick that up with how well Baltimore was rallying to the ball. There’s probably a few tight window throws Josh would’ve let rip in the second half if we weren’t out in front -
I keep hearing this insanely conservative/no trust thing about the offense and I don’t really see it personally. Half the drives in the second half (not counting the final clincher) were killed by Josh himself or Josh/kincaid…there were only 4 total. He threw a pretty bad ball to Kincaid on that first drive out of halftime, Kincaid probably could’ve bailed him out but Josh definitely could’ve thrown a better ball. the TE screen Josh definitely audibled into. That leaves the back to back misses to cooper and shakir drive that looked like throwaways so I’m not gonna count that against either the qb or coach. I thought Shakir got held but that’s playoff football I guess. the goal line sequence yea maybe you sneak twice if you’re cool with a butthole clencher 4th and long 1 sneak situation 😂. I think it’s fair to question that though sure. feels like tbd thinks we ran the ball every play or something in that second half and that’s definitely not the case, it was the same balance as always we just made a funky 3rd down audible decision and missed a huge second down throw that we needed to have. I’ve gotta fact check myself on this but I don’t believe we ran twice on a series of downs all game.

I disagree entirely with that talking heads assessment tbh…I think they ran too much if anything and it frequently put them off schedule. Henry had a couple decent runs in the second half but really didn’t do much with his opportunities, hill hit a big run and a lot of the damage was done in the passing game outside of that. I really think hill had a better game than Henry and should’ve taken some of Henry’s snaps honestly. Henry just doesn’t have that short area quickness and the bills frequently got to him before he could get up to speed.

The injury history is a huge question mark there

Joe Brady, Josh Allen, and the playcalling

There were a couple checks to screens it seemed like to me that were pretty good reads Baltimore just out executed us. They were real good rallying to the football and tackling all night -
Gotcha yea that’s correct

Henry running into a wall the first half was a lot of the problem lol Lamar kept getting caught in obvious passing situations and Henry was 0 help in the passing game when Lamar was under pressure so it looks like they gave justice hill some looks then brought Henry back in when the bills defense wore down a bit if anything I thought the ravens didn’t throw enough early -

The hype video that played before the game was amazing which included some media disrespect lol -
Same thing happened on that stupid Kelce lateral play against kc last year with the offensive Offside. Everyone acted like it was a walkoff win that they missed out on due to a technicality but there was plenty of time for us to drive down and score even if that counted
-
They had one left after their last offensive possession that they used rather spitefully after we sealed the game 🤣

2 tos and 1:33 needing only a fg is plenty of time

Baltimore outgained every team they lost to this season outside of Cleveland fwiw and the Cleveland game had incredibly close yardage totals. notable highlights include: outgained kc by 100 lost outgained Philly by 125 lost outgained raiders by 120 lost outgained Buffalo by 140 lost outgained pit by 26 lost i I know something three of those teams have in common 🤣 the only game they were outgained and won was the cincy rematch, so Baltimore in 19 games was outgained twice. Kind of expected where if they’re gonna lose they’re gonna be outgaining the other team -

People can say whatever they want and it doesn’t bother me much usually but the only thing that kind of irks me in this one is that 2 point play seems like it’s being portrayed as it would’ve won the game which is so far from the truth -

KC has a voodoo doll or something I’m completely convinced -
So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think it’s too odd…late playoffs are the time where the opposing coach is probably going to deviate the most from what their defense has been known for up to that point. Seems like if Lamar gets exactly what they have been preparing for he’s absolutely unstoppable but the falloff is stronger than it is for the other top qbs if he’s gotta grind it out against something he isn’t really expecting -

Lamar looked completely unprepared for the bills to not be running nickel all game which was a huge contributing factor in his two turnovers…took them far too long to figure it out.. coaching played a huge role imo and often does when Lamar has a bad game they were just forcing Henry into a brick wall and putting Lamar in obvious passing situations really often early and Milano did a really nice job spying him outside of one play where Lamar ran right through him somehow lol. Seemed like they wised up a bit and brought in justice hill who gave them an outlet in the passing game and brought Henry back in when the defense wore out a bit but it was just too late -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
It does…I think that was the original whole point of this thread lol people would consistently talk up Harbaugh while sh*tting on mcd for experiencing a lot of the same stuff back when this was originally posted. I don’t think anyone has a problem with people being anti both guys -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Allen was doing that stuff I respectfully don’t think the heat would be off mcd/brady at all based on some of the posts I read on here often and nor should it be really a lot of people complain about it as too conservative or whatever but reducing turnovers was a core focus of our offensive philosophy this year from a coaching/playcalling level all the way down to a player level. A qb out there consistently torpedoing his teams playoff run by taking crazy risks has to reflect on the coach at some point and I think we’re at that point with Baltimore. Lamar seems to get flustered when a defense throws something unexpected together and a lot of times regular season teams just run what they’re good at without varying too much but these better coaches in the playoffs can throw anything at you. I think they’re failing from a coaching perspective quite a bit -
So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
Idk why we hold opposing coaches to a lower standard than our own when having these discussions. The ravens were unprepared for the heavier stuff the bills ran on defense and Lamar was completely flustered early. A full half of football just to get your team going is way too long in the later rounds of the playoffs and that’s exactly what would be getting said by everyone here about mcd had the results been reversed. -

Generic_Bills_Fan replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
At some point being ‘in the position’ but not doing anything with it has to mean something…it’s the same situation as mcd it’s a real difficult decision to tell where that point is. Not sure where that point is myself but by all advanced metrics that ravens team was an absolute monster this year and they didn’t even come particularly close to a superbowl and continued their pretty dismal run against the chiefs and lost to the bills in the playoffs again. It’s gotta not feel great in Baltimore right now -
They’ll do a better job in that dept than Houston did imo…Baltimore was tough cuz they’ve got two really good TEs. Noah gray ain’t a slouch at all but I don’t think that duo is Andrews/likely level at this stage of kelces career despite Andrews kind of blowing the game 🤣. Bills chiefs is essentially a division game at this point I don’t think Houston had as much intel

This year he had one of the best DVOA offenses in nfl history going against a supposedly pretty mediocre defense and lost too. If you reverse the teams here and the bills were the team doing that I don’t think there’d be a pro mcd side at all on here lol I’m pretty high on mcd and id have trouble supporting him after that
