  1. Unrelated, but I had thought that Lynn would be toast at the end of this season. Maybe Herbert gets him another year or so? Gonna be a tough game in the future for sure.
  2. It's less his actual skill than the way his name passed in front of my eyes.
  3. As someone who's in need of eyeglasses, I'm not even going to get into how I parsed your mention of Noah Fant at first glance.
  4. Nobody should care. Good football is good football, and everything else is narrative. Tua, as an example, has not been great, and does not deserve praise to be delivered to him by the crock.
  5. As a WNY native, I don't get the fixation on national media, and Bradshaw is long past his shelf date, which means that I even give less of a ***** about that guy. I don't care if they hate on the Bills. At all. This is a good and solid team, and I don't give a stink if they are ignored on the national stage.
  6. In fairness, we have the benefit of hindsight here. On paper, the Bills made sensible moves early in that regime. Unfortunately, Greg(g x 1000) turned out to be a terrible HC, and Donahoe's moves were mostly of no value or impact. What's incredible to me is that we actually saw the team *degrade* after they left. Holy smoke! Anyway, like I said, hindsight.
  7. I've kind of got to shrug at this. Allen has been really good this year by and large, and that is a fact. Tua could be good (I wish no harm on him, but as a divisional rival, I hope that he sucks), but there is zero reason to prop him up right now. None. Zip. Nada.
  8. Any rational football fan will say that (1) Allen has exceeded expectations already and (2) he was most certainly the best QB chosen from that draft class.
  9. From my end of things, I think that being critical of Tua is a counterpoint to many Bills' fans who are making strong suggestions that the Dolphins will win out and win the division. Tua is a wildcard on a team with some good bones (HC, D, maybe ST). He has a limited body of work and doesn't look lights out to me at this point.
  10. Yep. I don't know why some believe that the Dolphins are going to run the table now, in particular with Tua under center. The Dolphins have a great HC, and a really good defense. Tua is a crapshoot, and if Fitz is pressed back into service and plays hero ball -- then they are done.
  11. Maybe I'm completely off base here, but I get the feeling that Denver will be bad for a long, long time. Elway, who owns a pretty magical steakhouse in Cherry Creek (I'm being serious here -- it's legit great), has done practically everything wrong with a team that I thought would be able to put a few pieces back in place and contend. Then there's the family feud behind ownership. Again, I could be completely off base, but this all seems like the blueprint for many years of dysfunction to come.
  12. Makes sense because he already looks like he's been living on the streets. His rendition of hobo chic has really played itself out.
  13. Do you ever get the feeling that nobody does less with more than John Elway?
  14. Given what I saw, "gone for the year" would be very optimistic. Not good. At all.
  15. For most of my lifetime (1970s though now) the Bills' coaches have been clown shoes. McD isn't perfect, but clown shoes he is not.
  16. 95? Why 95? The Bills were competitive in 1995 and 1996, had a down year in 1997, a roller coaster year in 1998, an epically disappointing year in 1999 followed by a mediocre-at-best year in 2000. In my view things started to be horrid in 2001 and that carried on until 2017. But there's more to it than that. The Bills were mostly worthless in the 1970s, 1982-1987 were pretty awful, and then you get the window of time I just stated -- where the organization fielded, year after year, a horribly coached team that was also mostly devoid of talent. If you look at TBD early in the season, it seemed like a majority of the fans thought that the team was going to go 10-6 or 11-5 and would have a playoff win -- and that next year would be the SB year. Could the Bills fall apart this season? Of course, but I don't think so, as they've been way too competitive in most of the games this year, and even with missing pieces and inconsistent play. Could the Bills win a playoff game this year then get bounced? This is more the scenario I expect.
  17. Knox is awful. Just awful. I had thought that the team was beyond drafting guys like this. What a miss.
  18. The fan base would be shattered because the Bills didn't win the division this year? The same fan base that would still sell out the joint to watch EJ Manuel under center for this team? The same fan base that kept buying tickets, still selling out the joint multiple times, to watch about 17 years worth of lost football years? You are being overly dramatic.
  19. Keep writing, @Virgil, regardless of the temperature of the forum. It's something to look forward to, in particular after a loss like this one.
  20. I don't know why there's a debate amongst some Bills fans about the best RB. It's grim, and a reboot is definitely required. And also may Knox enjoy a short stint on the Maid of the Mist and never return.
