  1. Great stop. Maybe the team can find a way to run and control the clock. Of course I'd take 7, even early, but AZ are def capable of the knockout punch.
  2. I took a quick shower during halftime, and maybe I should go back upstairs and take another one. That play was like bathing in trash.
  3. To the OP: inflation. You are normally very insightful, but this time around I think that you are overthinking this one.
  4. Finished my PoliSci degree, became obsessed with UNIX/Linux, decided not to petition for graduation at UB that cycle, so I started a Computer Science degree. I also used to own a comb in those days.
  5. Full disclosure: we had a really nice weekend, we have a ton of leaves, and I did not see the whole game as I was on yard duty. I saw the middle, and I saw the end. Allen looked freaking amazing is all I can say. Without Allen Wilson would've owned the day.
  6. One other thing I want to throw out there is if Pete Carroll can with a SB with the 'Hawks, then McD, if the Bills play their cards right with personnel, can win one here. I'm on the fence about McD (full disclosure), but Carroll has done great with that team -- and I never thought in a million years that he would.
  7. In spite of my better judgment, I'm watching the NE/NYJ game tomorrow night. I have every bit of disdain for this competition like I did during the TG game in 1993. Having written that, should be a heart-stopping good time.
  8. I'm 100% on board with this assessment. I remember watching him TG 2019, where I ran back and forth to the smoker where we had two (spatchcocked) turkeys in there, and relishing the game -- because outside of Kelly and later years of Fergie, it's been impossible to find even competent QB play here for the longest of stretches. This is really something else, and in as much as I still love Kelly, again, I would think that watching JA play QB here is totally new territory.
  9. All I can say is that Allen is ***** good, man. I felt that when he was drafted that he could be stable and change/win some games, and do a lot better than EJ (that bar was very low) and TT (stable, but not a game changer). I honestly didn't think that he would be this good. Holy ***** *****.
  10. I think that football regularly ran its course for him -- when he was still playing here and in Jax. He was a guy that I always hoped would be aces, but it was such a disappointment. I did like his sailor hat a LOT though. And I wonder if I'll see him on the Food Network at some point. It's a franchise, just like the "Walking Dead".
  11. Maybe they do, but notable also is that Dareus is out of the league currently. If there were takers, one would think that they'd have jumped already. Ah yeah. I forgot about that tidbit. Bills of that era? Good times, good times. </sarcasm>
  12. They were teammates in 2016, and that included a suspension for Dareus due to substances, did it not? Why would it work out better this time? Players like Dareus and Manuel and Goodwin and Gilmore and Watkins (etc, etc, etc) were of a horrible period of Bills' past. I hope that they never return here.
  13. Great write up as always, @Virgil. I wasn't completely thrilled with the game yesterday, and lots of other posters here have identified problem areas, so I won't rehash those. Having written that, I was happy with the win last night when I went to bed, and I was happy again today as I thought about the game. Why? For the first time in forever, the Bills are a good team (not great, not elite, but solid... and good). The BBFS in me has stifled my optimism for a very long time, and a decade and a half of lost football in Buffalo did nothing to change my mind. Watching Newton fumble yesterday, and having the Bills come out of it on the winning end reminded me of how bad things used to happen to this team always: fumbling, losing fumbles, mental errors, missed field goals/special teams miscues, blowing leads, being laughed at by the other team, and just straight up awful and uninspiring play for years on end. I used to watch these games and wonder not if -- but when -- something bad was going to happen. The Newton fumble was symbolic in a way, and it showed how much this team has changed for the better.
  14. I'd like to dabolish this newly-found word. 🙂
  15. Here's success for me this season: win a playoff game. While I think that this team can go deeper, there are three glaring things that aren't leading me in that direction currently (D issues, inconsistencies on O, ST issues in punting/kicking), but it doesn't mean that teams like the Ravens or the Titans won't slot themselves out and the Bills won't slot themselves in.
  16. Well... they can't all be gems, but given 18 years of suck in terms of talent/competitiveness, I'll conclude that Beane has done a lot more good than bad. I can easily name a dozen players that were drafted as first rounders and did not work here. At all.
