Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication
Einstein's Dog replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
C'mon Shaw, that's a low blow to Dorsey. Gabe pretty much ended Dorsey's time here. Dorsey didn't ruin the Gabe/Allen connection, other way around, the lack of Gabe/Allen did Dorsey in. While i like the two game trial run so far of Brady, Brady had a lot to do with this last loss. Assuming Brady has seen everything I have seen this year, there would be no way, an important clutch play should be going to G Davis. No need for the kill shot there/then, just move the chains and take the end zone shots on first or second downs. -
It’s Chiefs week - and the season is on the line

The Bills are more talented on offense this year because of the addition of Kincaid! The quicker and more involved he gets the better the Bills will be. Kincaid is a star and needs to be fast-tracked into a larger role. Allen/Diggs/Kincaid and a bunch of decent role players Shakir/Cook should be a top offense (it's better than Detroit's Goff/St Brown/Laporta) -
I hope that Beane stops listening to McDermott when drafting

Appreciate the time and effort to do a more thorough look back. Not nearly as bad as the OP is making it out to be. But two comments from me. First for 2022 I was hoping they would go WR - there were two (IMO) premium picks sliding down, C Watkins who GB took that had great camp numbers, and G Pickens. Secondly, I think you should have included the 2023 draft where the first two rounds went to offense and are great picks. Would have thought that would have ended these kind of stupid OP rants. -
Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication

I like Brady but this quote doesn't show me anything. What's he doing having Davis in a key spot? Those plays at this point should be Diggs, Kincaid, Josh run, or maybe Shakir/Cook. That's plenty to choose from - those ridiculous plays with Sherfield and/or Davis were terrible. Not the time to get cute. If they anticipated a blitz that ball should have been going to Kincaid.- 159 replies

To the OP, I grade the same way as you. This last draft has upgraded my view on Beane drafting. I was disappointed with the 2022 draft, mainly because I was hoping they would take a WR over the CB in round 1 (c Watkins/G Pickens). After the draft I felt they went too needs oriented and that Beane was being a little too conservative. The 2023 draft shocked me in a very pleasant way. Beane put to rest the defense domination criticism. He took a risk to move up for a player in questionable positional value (TE), where we already had a player (Knox). The move up was quickly justified to me when I saw the video of the Dallas draft room. And personally I've seen enough of Kincaid to call him a star, I'm excited about at least another 4 1/2 years of him.

Terrible call -
The people here should be the first to recognize it. We've seen it, and now JBrady is unleashing him (which is somewhat unfair because I believe Dorsey's plan was to do the same). The only question is will he get the stats/resume to support what we see. Beane should get credit for this one. His move up is looking good. Seems like he just moved on from his last year when, IMO, the move up for Elam was a mistake (I just wanted him to stay put and take one of the WRs).
-
When are the people going to admit that Kincaid is a "star"? I know you're watching the games and have to seeing the silky smooth releases and hands made of stick'em. Would setting the rookie record for TE receptions do it? When he clearly becomes option number 2 on a high flying offense? Beane moved up to get Kincaid and by all accounts sniped him from Dallas. Bold move for a player of questionable positional value.

Isn't anyone going to do the Optimistic scenarios? A 6-0 run could should give us an excellent shot at the 2 seed. The one seed is still in play, although difficult because of Jax needing 3 losses.

Seems like when the heel of the foot hits before the toe goes out it should count as inbounds,

McDermott weird comments about Josh Allen
Einstein's Dog replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills OC job is the premier OC opening in the league. You get Josh, an ascending Kincaid, and probably a say in a new WR2. You also get credit for the success -unlike being in the shadow of an offensive minded head coach, like the situation E Bieniemy had in KC. -
Bills vs Jets 4:25 PM Nov. 19 Lets move on.
Einstein's Dog replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
But what if the root of the holding back an explosive offense was restricting Josh;s running. What if it had been a calculated team decision to increase the odds of Josh lasting the season and to increase the length of his career. If this is a reversal of a team decision because of desperation and timing there does seem to be a "sacrificial" element to it as it relates to Dorsey. I always thought the plan may have been to keep Josh under wraps until the playoffs. Circumstances/record make it such that we can't wait. Now Brady gets to encourage Josh to run. The Bills get some wins and Josh gets happy, involved, motivated. I hope it happens, just doesn't mean Dorsey was "the root of the problem". -

There will be no scapegoating of Brady, it's all set up to remain with Dorsey. Curtailing Josh's running was a team decision to increase the odds he makes it through the season and to lengthen Josh's career. Now if that restriction is lifted the offense should be more dangerous. -
Bills signing Fournette (for real this time)

I hope we have Lenny ready to go too. NYJ will try and rip the ball away from Cook. They'll smell blood now after the Denver disaster. Cook needs to concentrate on ball security. -

Except McD was right. Cook was not trustworthy. When put back in Cook, while running hard, was loose on ball security. -
I didn't say the Bills didn't have a difficult schedule. I was responding to someone who said Miami had an easy schedule. And I don't think the NYJ are easy. IMO, the division title is not out of reach.
-
But Miami does have Dallas and Balt. The Bills just need to be within a game by week 18 for the division title to be at stake. Also, Miami plays NYJ twice. And with all the QBs that have gone down who would have guessed Tua hasn't missed any time.
-
Except the tie-breaker w Miami. The division title is still possible.

McDermott weird comments about Josh Allen
Einstein's Dog replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The hard part for me w Cook was it didn't seem like the message got through about the benching. When Cook came back in it looked like he was running harder and more reckless. The message wasn't to run harder, but was supposed to be about ball security. That didn't seem to be Cook's priority. McD saying he doesn't trust Cook might be a measured response to contain huge frustration on a missed message. For me the interesting development will be the RB usage. A close look at what happens with Fournette, Does the Cook debacle get him demoted. -
You seem to mistakenly think all situations are the same. Cook was benched for ball security issues. When put back it seemed like he wanted to make up for it by focusing on running harder. If Cook had been concentrating on prioritizing ball security I don't think Denver would have gotten that fumble.
-
After the fumble Cook seemed to become sugar-high Cook. He ran really hard and fast. But that was not what the sit down was supposed to be about- they were trying to stress ball security. If the ball security message had gotten through he would have been looking to secure the handoff first.
-
Not 100% on Allen. Cook didn't look the ball in, he was looking ahead. And this was a guy who sat a quarter because of ball security issues. His eyes should have been on that ball on the handoff. If the handoff was poor, which it was, then the play most likely is a loss, but not a turnover.
