Matthew Smiley out as Special Teams coach
Chaos replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
National media spends a lot of time discussion how Smiley is just not the guy to get the Bills across the finish line, even though they have Josh Allen on offense. -
these commericials are just awful

Rams have been to the Super Bowl twice in the McDermott era, and had a team that beat the Bills this year, and fell just short of returning to the NFC championship game. Taking a serious shot, properly managed, does not mean crippling your team for the future. Rams ways has objectively been far more successful. And before blah blah blah NFC, Rams also did it with Jarrod Goff and Matthew Stafford, who are hardly Josh Allen- 99 replies

Two things can be true at the same time. The Chiefs completely owned the Bills on that play and Kincaid should have caught the ball.

The Chiefs are always one step ahead of the Bills...

Yes, but Worthy limited. He is only going to be a superstar in playoff games against the Bills. -
You keep pace with the other guys keeping for the one seed, or you don't. Bills definitely seem to think it is fine to blow off those early season games. Since this team has never won a road playoff game, you think they would fight harder to win every single week.

Chiefs really only lost one.
-
Allen needs a redo of his contract. Extending him is not a likely strategy.
-
He probably enjoyed the game. Able to tell his friends "told you so"
-
Its safe to conclude Allen has 10 more years. Mostly likely with the Bills, but I am no longer 100% certain he cares about retiring a Bill. He and his fiance are pretty connected to California.

I get frustrated when the Bills lose focus and drop a couple of winnable early season games, ensuring we go on the road. Not sure we sweat the details as well as the Chiefs do.
-
I agree with that observation. But the beginning of this discussion is whether or not it is a coaching issue or a personnel issue. This is the personnel set that overwhelmed us yesterday: Do you think the Chiefs would do worse against our defens, with our offensive personnel? Real question.

Josh will have to find solace in the hundreds of millions of dollars he will earn, his marriage to a beutiful woman, and the adoration of a a million people in western ny. He will find a way to work through it.
-
I agree with the sentiment. But would a torn PCL in the knee, make the turn back to the ball extra challenging? I have no idea personally.

Possibly the stupiest post in TBD history. And the competetion is fierce.

One of my children is a high school varsity basketball head coach. So I am shifting my emotional sports investment to high school basketball for the next couple months. As far as the Bills go, in the last off-season I maintained the Bills were a lock to win the division, and a lock to advance to the divisional round of the playoffs, and then we would see where we stand. I am making the same prediction for the 2025 season. We will find out about a year from now if we improved. Everything in between now and then, from free agency to the draft to the preseason to the regular season is just for fun. Won't show us much of anything.

It has seemed to me for some time that Coach McDermott wants to win "his way" with "his guys" and his is less interested in simply finding a way to win. this is not what I said. I said fourth best offensive set of personnel. This includes QB and linemen. that is a fair criticism.

Fairly even split so far 84/148 to move on 82/184 to stay the course. ( removed other from the numerator and denominator)
