Looks like the thug mentality of the Bengals comes from the top down
Chaos replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
If it was typical we would all be having our workers compenstation taken away. Since this seems to be a unique situation (even among the 32 NFL teams) it is actually the opposite of typical. -
Not saying the Dolphins (or Jets or Patriots) Roster is better than the Bills Roster. But it is perfectly clear that Josh Allen is the sole area where the Bills have clear dominance in the Division (even if the Jets land Rodgers).

It is retired.

Will Rodgers where #12 for the Jets, or will he show Joe Namath respect and have a different number?

GB demonstrates how NOT to do it with QBs in the modern NFL
Chaos replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The relationship between the problem you refer to in the bold, and the QB salary cap hit is not minor. -
I think it is possible to trade out of 27 and maneuver to end up with both Avi;a from TCU and Tippman from Wisconsin

You really don't seem to get the point. The best strategy in the last 25 years was to have Tom Brady as QB. The next best strategy was to have one of the other top 5 QBs. By definition, 26 teams don't get to use the strategy of having a top 6 QB. The remaining choices are to go with mid tier QBs, ie the Kirk Cousins, Derek Carrs of the world, or try to build around a future star QB on a rookie contract. This last choise is why the Panthers traded up. Literally no one is arguing it is the best or the only way to go. I am sure Reich would rather have Mahomes or Allen. Simply not choice. Among the available choices, this is what the Panthers chose to do. Unless they don't draft a QB in the draft, this is simply a fact, not an opinion or discussion point.

Yes because 25 years ago is a relevent to today's salary cap and free agent rules as the last 10 years.
-
With the Bills defensive scheme seeming to have been exposed by the Bengals. Plus the fact the Bills have only 1 starting player who could clearly be traded for a first round pick (Allen), and the large number of free agents it seems almost like the Bills have slipped into rebuild mode, albeit with a super star QB in place. I feel like for the next run, the Bills should do exactly what you said. We should be drafting online and WRs with our early picks.

Since 2012, Russell Wilson (2013), Nick Foles (2017) and Patrick Mahomes (2019). Since 2012 3 QBS on Rookie QBs won Super Bowls. Tom Brady won 4 Super Bowls. All other QBs combined 3 Super Bowls.

Successful QB on a rookie contract

Texans are going to get a new QB in the draft. Things can turn fast.

Jets pursuit of Rodgers is fueling bills offseason focus
Chaos replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think people are concerned the Jets beat us with Zack Wilson, and would have an even better chance with Aaron Rodgers. The Jets roster is much better than the Packers. -
Hurts, Lance/Purdy, Burrows all disagree.
-
Its all relative. Our main competitors in the AFC have equally or greater restructure opportunities.
-
I think it shows teams are interested in having a middle level talent at QB for five years at rookie prices. With the idea they build around him (like 3 of the final 4 did this year, the eagle, bengals and niners did this year) and maybe even catch a QB for the future worth paying (which seems to be the case for Burrows and Hurts).
-
Yes. Because Lamar wants 250 million guaranteed. Whichever QB the Panthers draft will be under the rookie Salary Cap for 5 years. This will be less than 40 million for the first 4 years total. Fifth year option is probably 25 million. So 250 million - 65 million - 185 million the panthers save by not going after Lamar.

Use and research are different things.

Diggs unfollows Buffalo, follows Cowgirls 🤷♂️

This dropped on twitter a few minutes back, an interview with Diggs: -
Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
Chaos replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
This might the most depressing statement on TBD since the end of the season (because its true). When you pause to think about it, what we saw in the Bengals games is that our defense was "exposed". hmm. -
At best this would help identify a top college talent scout, not a GM
-
No truth to this at all.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract

But he really really really wants to be the highest paid player
