White and Dawson and Von Miller were three of our highest paid players last season. The level of production we got out them (Miller was zero after injury), is one of the key reasons we floundered in the playoffs. If you look at what the Chiefs, niners, Eagles and Bengals got out of their top paid players, the difference is astounding.

This is an expected administrative move the team needs to make to comply with the Salary cap. It is something 31 other GMs would do if they were here. This benefits the players and takes zero negotiating skill to get them to agree to it. People seem to be repsonding to these moves as if we have $50 million of cap space to sign top end free agents at multiple positions.

This is a silly take. McGovern is clearly among the top 64 Guards in the league.

We save $6 mm on the cap by cutting Morse. We all know that if we roll with Morse as our starter next season, a good chunk of his 11mm cap hit will be on the sidelines for a number of games. And if he is on the field, it is likely his play will deteriorate further. We really should be looking at better options at center.

The first Chapter of the Josh Allen era had some great successes, annual playoff appearances, a championship appearance, and some moments of dominance. The defining feature of the rest of the team was the emphasis on the Frazier-Edmunds defense scheme. This chapter is completly closed with today's signing of Edmunds by the Bears. As we being Josh Allen Era - Chapter 2, what will be the Bills primary emphasis be to get better results in Chapter 2, than Chapter 1. I was not a huge Frazier or Edmunds fan, but they provided the teams most recognizable elements (aside from Josh himself) ?

Nyhiem Hines Restructures - Takes a pay cut to stay in Buffalo.

Not clear he is worth 4 million of cap space vs a different JAG RB. -
It will be interesting to see if Edmund ages on the bears.

I am surprised. THought RB was an easy pistol to save more cap by cutting him. -
Looks like the thug mentality of the Bengals comes from the top down

Your level of envy is amazingingly high. Are you actually green colored? -
In the unlikely event Branch drops to 27, the Bills should select him. And I am an offense first guy.

Reading comprehension is important. Read the post I was replying too.

And how should they have addressed the QB situation last year?
-
What would you recommend they do instead?
-
Well, if they make two Super Bowls and win one, like the Rams did, some people will think it was a good plan.

If it was typical we would all be having our workers compenstation taken away. Since this seems to be a unique situation (even among the 32 NFL teams) it is actually the opposite of typical. -
Not saying the Dolphins (or Jets or Patriots) Roster is better than the Bills Roster. But it is perfectly clear that Josh Allen is the sole area where the Bills have clear dominance in the Division (even if the Jets land Rodgers).

It is retired.

Will Rodgers where #12 for the Jets, or will he show Joe Namath respect and have a different number?

GB demonstrates how NOT to do it with QBs in the modern NFL

The relationship between the problem you refer to in the bold, and the QB salary cap hit is not minor. -
I think it is possible to trade out of 27 and maneuver to end up with both Avi;a from TCU and Tippman from Wisconsin

You really don't seem to get the point. The best strategy in the last 25 years was to have Tom Brady as QB. The next best strategy was to have one of the other top 5 QBs. By definition, 26 teams don't get to use the strategy of having a top 6 QB. The remaining choices are to go with mid tier QBs, ie the Kirk Cousins, Derek Carrs of the world, or try to build around a future star QB on a rookie contract. This last choise is why the Panthers traded up. Literally no one is arguing it is the best or the only way to go. I am sure Reich would rather have Mahomes or Allen. Simply not choice. Among the available choices, this is what the Panthers chose to do. Unless they don't draft a QB in the draft, this is simply a fact, not an opinion or discussion point.
