PFF's top 32 TE's (Dalton Kincaid at 10!!!!!)
Billl replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree regarding the injury part. Kincaid's production issues? He was playing with an injured knee. Coleman's production issues? He was playing with an injured wrist. Samuel's production issues? He was playing with an injured foot. Cooper's production issues? He was playing with an injured wrist. If you look closely, you can start to identify a bit of a pattern. -
Fun fact: Kincaid is a year older than Pitts.

There's a baseball acronym, TINSTAAPP. There is no such thing as a pitching prospect. In football, TINSTAATEP. There is no such thing as a Tight End prospect.

After returning from his injury, he had 29 targets and caught 10 of them for 161 yards and 1 TD. His complete lack of success when being targeted answers the question of why he got so few of them. The worst game Allen has had in the past 5 years was against the Texans when he went 9/30 for 131 yards and a TD. That production was eerily similar to what Coleman put up pops injury. Why would anyone want more of that?

You wouldn’t have had to let Shakir walk after this year. He could have been traded for a fourth which could have then been sent to Seattle along with a second for DK Metcalf. The $25 million a year that will be used to pay Shakir and Palmer could have nearly paid for it.

Johnston isn’t a bust in any sense of the word. He had 700+ yards and 8 TDs in 15 games last season as a 22 year old. You’d take that kind of jump from Coleman in a heartbeat. That’s not really the point, though. McConkey is great, but it’s silly to blame Beane for passing on him, as there were plenty of reasons for doing so. He was an older rookie, had an injury history, wasn’t overly productive in college, doesn’t have great size, and plays a position that was already set. Did any of that ultimately matter? No, but that’s pure hindsight. If Coleman can return to, and build off of, what he was before his injury, he’s a perfectly good pick. If he remains what he was post injury, he’s a bust. In any event, the comparisons should be to guys like Worthy, Pearsall, Legette, and Mitchell.

They should have gone after Lamar two years ago. He would have been unstoppable in that offense.

5th year options only apply to first round picks.

IMO, the biggest reason Knox had 0 TDs at Mississippi State is that he went to Ole Miss.

The Mannings don’t care about Arch having a chance to go #1 overall. They care about doing what gives him the best chance to have a successful NFL career. He’s already making millions playing in college, so it’s not like he’s risking his financial future.

So you're saying that if you take away 200 yards and 2 TDs in 3 games, Worthy's playoff stats aren't as impressive?

It was the NFL GM equivalent of a college basketball coach getting a technical foul to fire up his team.

Who is our worst match up in the AFC as of now?

That’s a really good question. It’s not the Texans, but you could make a case for any of the other three. I guess I lean Baltimore, but I could be convinced otherwise. -

Moore has had over 100 targets in each of the past 2 seasons. No other player on the Bills has ever had over 100 targets in a season. -

One player on this team had that many catches last season, one had that many yards, and none had that many TDs. That would be a brilliant signing if Moore were to post a stat line like that. -
Pretty safe bet Elway was driving his own custom cart that’s got a little bit more juice than your standard EZ-Go at the local muni.

Yes. John Brown had one really good season before he was on the Bills (1000 yards and 7 TDs). He had one really good season while he was on the Bills (1100 yards and 6 TDs). That one season was also with 2019 Josh who wasn’t a very good QB yet. Cole Beasley was the same guy in Buffalo as he was in Dallas. He just got more targets in Buffalo. His previous career high was 98 targets for 833 yards and 5 TDs. In Buffalo, he averaged 108 targets for 813 yards and 4 TDS. Same is true of Diggs. He was an emerging star when Buffalo gave up a first round pick plus for him. He continued his career arc afterwards while going from 94 targets in his last season in MN to 166 and 164 his first two seasons in Buffalo. WR stats are oddly independent of quality of QB play. -

Because you have to offer them 110% of what you paid them last season. -

Guys like Megatron and Tyreek had better numbers when their QBs weren’t as good. As Stafford got better, Johnson’s numbers declined because he didn’t get 200 targets. When Tyreek went from Mahomes to Tua, his numbers exploded. I’m not saying it’s the rule. It’s the exception. The rule is that WRs are what their stats say they are.
