  1. I didn’t forget anything. You, however, seem to have forgotten that the 5th round pick went from Baltimore to KC, not the other way around. The full compensation package netted out to the draft value equivalent of a mid second round pick.
  2. Arizona is trying to shed salary and gain draft picks. They would never give up Hopkins just to take on those contracts and give up picks to do it.
  3. He’s an average to good LT. KC traded the 31st pick and got back a second rounder used to draft Nick Bolton. That’s the draft value of a mid second round pick that was given up for two years of a cost controlled LT who won a ring. Both teams benefited from the trade.
  4. Bills possessions: Punt (3 and out) Punt (3 and out) TD Punt FG Punt Turnover on Downs Interception 3 playoff teams won when their defense gave up 27+ points. None won when their offense scored 10 or fewer.
  5. How was it a defensive failure when the offense scored 10 points? Before the game, if someone said that the Bengals would score 27 points, you might not have been excited about it, but you still would have felt like you had a reasonable shot at winning. If you were told only that the Bills would score 10 points, you’d have known the game was a lost cause.
  6. WTF are you talking about? Kansas City metro has 2.5 million people.
  7. So Laremy Tunsil and Roquan Smith are fools?
  8. Then he's a moron.
  9. One can argue whatever one wants to argue. It doesn't change the fact that the 49ers have been more successful over the short term, the medium term, and the long term, though. They're an elite organization.
  10. SF has played in 3 conference championship games and a Superbowl in the last 4 seasons. I think you're selling them short by saying that the Bills have been more successful than they have.
  11. How about a 7th round pick for Carolina’s first round pick?
  12. Yeah, he only took them to 5 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl in 14 seasons.
  13. So you don’t think there’s a correlation between age and injuries or injury history and injuries? I didn’t think I was exactly going out on a limb by suggesting it. More than ever, the NFL is a young man’s game. Between the addition of a 17th regular season game and the removal of a bye in the postseason, you pretty much have to expect to play 21 games to win a championship compared to 19 in the past. That puts a lot of strain on older players. It’s a risk/reward proposition. Beane has chosen to take his chances on some older players and/or those with injury histories. If they stay healthy, the Bills are championship contenders and he looks like a genius.
  14. Injuries aren’t random, though. Older players are more likely to get injured than younger players. Players who have had major injury issues in the past are more likely to get injured than players who haven’t. Beane signed Von Miller last year. He was 33 years old and had experienced 2 major injuries in the past. He got injured again. Now Beane has let a 25 year old LB with no major injury history walk while signing an injury prone WR and re-signing a 32 year old Safety to play alongside a 33 year old Safety. The Bills were the 8th oldest team last season, and they’ve gotten older in FA. They had the best roster last year when fully healthy, but that didn’t last. It’s a calculated risk that didn’t pay off last year. We’ll see if it does in 2023.
  15. All. In.
  16. Nobody’s dragged Lamar for not playing last year? Are you serious?
  17. So $133m guaranteed won’t cripple a franchise, but $180m will?
  18. Lamar, we don’t want to pay you if you get hurt trying to win games for us. Also, you’re a bum if you don’t risk your career by playing injured.
  19. GMs should be more than happy to guarantee a contract to their franchise QB. Whatever GM signs a QB to a massive contract is getting fired if he sucks irrespective of how much of the money was guaranteed. It’s not like pissing away $130 million is fine but $180 million is grounds for termination. If you pick the right guy, he’s worth whatever the contract is.
  20. They’re so well run that they’re 4-8 when Lamar doesn’t play.
  21. Ravens are 45-16 with Lamar starting. They’re 4-8 without him.
  22. $133 million guaranteed simply isn’t in line with the market for a QB of his level. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34096853/highest-paid-nfl-players-tracking-most-money-guaranteed-per-year-every-position
  23. Nobody would be complaining about Watson’s contract if he was balling out. It’s a bad contract because he’s been a disaster on and off the field. Lamar has been great on and off the field. Why should he pay for Watson’s crimes when every other mediocre at best QB is cashing in?
  24. He was offered a borderline top 10 contract that would have been well below market.
  25. Something about Lamar Jackson makes people lose their minds. In no universe is he worth less than Daniel Jones, Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, etc.
