  1. Jordan Love is terrible. Bringing back Rodgers would basically mean paying him $60,000,000 to set back your rebuild by a year. There’s nothing stopping the Jets from drafting a QB if they don’t get Rodgers.
  2. People are really taking this personally. It’s as if a man they’ll never meet who has never played for a team they cheer for is personally insulting them by not agreeing to an offer right away. There’s no rational explanation for it. So they’re going to let a 26 year old QB walk and draft a 25 year old QB?
  3. So you think that means they shut Kelce down? Players can't have good games in losing efforts?
  4. What game are you referencing? In the past few seasons, his worst game against Buffalo was 6 catches for 57 yards and a TD. That was the 2021 regular season game. He then went for 13/118/2 in the playoffs.
  5. They aren’t exact, but they’re very similar. OBJ wasn’t elite all season, but he was in the 2021 postseason. Von was good coming back from his injury in 2021, but he was hardly elite. If you don’t see the similarities, then we just disagree. In my mind, they were both players where you knew there was a larger than usual risk of injury that had to be weighed against their superstar talent.
  6. Von was one year removed from missing an entire season due to a leg injury and was 33 years old. Nobody should be shocked if OBJ gets hurt this season just as nobody should have been shocked that Von got hurt last year. That is the risk you take when you make these types of signings and yes, they’re very similar in nature. You’re hoping to get a year or two of greatness out of them before they decline. I don’t know that either of them were desperate moves, but they’re both absolutely gambles.
  7. He’s remarkably consistent in that he never has a bad game. He’s often incredible, but even when he isn’t, he’s still productive.
  8. Two superstar mercenaries over the age of 30 coming off knee injuries signing with teams trying to make a Super Bowl push doesn’t sound close?
  9. Was signing Von Miller last year a desperation move, cause this feels a lot like that.
  10. Beane got lucky in the 2018 draft. If Allen had been taken instead of Mayfield or Darnold, Beane would be out of a job by now. While he deserves credit for picking the right Josh, that pick shouldn’t be taken into account when evaluating him going forward given the fact that he’ll probably never be in a situation to draft a QB with a top 10 pick again.
  11. The fact that KC had already banked a Super Bowl in 2019 gave them the capital to risk taking a temporary step back by trading Hill in order to invest in the long term with the picks they acquired. Given that these teams have never won one, I doubt they’ll be able to do anything other than go all in every season until they either win a championship or crash and burn. Then again, it’s possible that the Vikings are self-aware enough to realize that they’re nowhere near good enough to truly contend. If that’s the case, I could see them tearing it down to the studs and moving JJ for a massive haul.
  12. Find me one that doesn’t pay more than even money for them winning. Just because they’re the favorites doesn’t mean they’re favored over the field. The Jaguars, Chiefs, and 49ers are the only teams who have a better than 50-50 shot at winning their divisions. Last year at this time, the Bills were on that list.
  13. Not a lot of resources were used, and there’s considerable upside.
  14. Buffalo is the favorite, but they all pay more than even odds. The books think they’re the most likely to win, but they’ve got less than a 50% chance of winning.
  15. The over is -140. Basically, Vegas thinks they’re an 11-6 team which seems exactly right to me. The interesting part IMO is that they don’t think the Bills win the division.
  16. Mitchell Schwartz was either first or second team All Pro four straight seasons coming into 2020. He hurt his back and retired after the season. He was literally the best RT in football up to that point. Eric Fisher was the Colts starting LT last season. When he retires, he’ll be in the Chiefs Ring of Honor. What in the world are you trying to achieve by pulling post after post out of your ass? “His lines were bottom 15 for half his time in KC before Veach.” He coached for 5 seasons prior to Veach and took over a 2-14 team. So we’re talking about what, 2 seasons of below average talent on a roster he inherited? That’s somehow a function of poor talent evaluation on his part? Congratulations. You are literally the first person in history to accuse Andy Reid of being subpar at evaluating OL. And to do it a month after he won a Super Bowl with a top 5 line that he built from scratch last season is especially remarkable.
  17. Osemele was an absolute monster in Kansas City before his knees exploded. You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
  18. Andy Reid is “bad at linemen”. I can’t even comprehend how you’re saying that Andy Reid is bad at building an offensive line. In 2021…the season we’re talking about, he started out with the 31st pick in the draft and traded for Brown, signed Joe Thuney (arguably the best LG in the league), drafted Creed Humphrey at the end of the second (the best C in the league), and drafted a top 5 RG Trey Smith in the 6th round. That offseason was literally a case study on how to build an OL. Tell me how good the KC line will be next year now that they replaced that worthless LT with one of the top Ts in the league. I’ve been worried about losing him. If you want to tell me he won’t be missed, I feel better about losing him.
  19. Not only did you not read your own article, you didn’t even read the full headline. They weren’t disappointed in his play. They were disappointed that he turned down the 6 year, $139 million contract offer. Then they franchise tagged him. 8 months later, he made another Pro Bowl and won a Super Bowl.
  20. WTF are you talking about? The tackles taken 31 or later were Teven Jenkins (bust), Liam Eichenberg (bust at T and moved to G), Walker Little (bust), Jackson Carmen (bust), Dillon Radunz (bust), and Spencer Brown (LOL). I don't think Reid and Veach are kicking themselves right now over missing out on those slapdicks.
  21. One of us is rationalizing, I'll give you that. I've taken my kids to two Superbowl parades in the last 3 years, so I suppose we can agree to disagree on which one of us it is. And sure, the Chiefs could've taken Bolton or Creed or Trey at 31, and they'd all look like good picks in hindsight. Instead, they got all those players PLUS the LT who sucked to bad that the Chiefs hung 552 yards and 42 points on the Bills in the playoffs his first season (I guess Groot and Boogie didn't get the memo that Brown sucks) and 38 on the Eagles in the Superbowl his second year. Maybe the Bills will have more success against the Bengals offensive line next year with Brown than they did this year against a bunch of backups.
  22. He's on the juice again.
  23. You're right. It was a sixth round pick that went back to Kansas City. The Chiefs turned picks 31, 94, 136 and a 2022 fifth round pick into Orlando Brown, Nick Bolton, and Trey Smith. If that's getting fleeced, then sign me up. It was the draft value equivalent of the 45th overall pick in the draft in exchange for two years of a pro bowl LT who won a Superbowl.
  24. At this point, do they really? The team has pushed basically all of their chips into the pot the last two seasons. A rebuild is coming soon that will involve just about everyone other than Josh. So far, there's nothing to show for having been a top 5 team for three straight seasons. 2023 is the last shot this version of the team has to win it all. Guys like Miller, Poyer, Hyde, Oliver, and possibly even Diggs will likely be either moved or relegated to backups due to age by 2024. If Hopkins is the final piece to win a championship, he's worth it at any price. If they don't win, Beane is likely gone by 2024 or 2025 either way. If someone like Kansas City outbids Buffalo for Hopkins and wins a Superbowl, Beane will be a pariah. Nobody is going to care that he saved a draft pick.
