  1. Nobody gets everything they ask for in a negotiation. Do you think he’ll get more than the $133m guaranteed he turned down? If he does, it means he was smart.
  2. So go on record. You think he’s getting less guaranteed money than the $133m he reportedly turned down? I’ll say he gets substantially more than that.
  3. Here’s a different way to look at it. Vegas sees only 5 legit Super Bowl contenders. There’s a huge drop off after the Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers, Bengals, and Bills. Whatever of those teams get the 1 seeds will have to play, at most 2 of those teams to win the Super Bowl.
  4. I always find it incredible that people on message boards always think they know better than the actual players when it comes to those players’ finances.
  5. At some point, Beane has to be judged on something beyond having drafted Josh 5 years ago. Here's what has happened since then: Year one: Missed playoffs Year two: Lost in wild card round (overtime) Year three: Lost in AFCCG (blowout) Year four: Lost in div. round (overtime) Year five: Lost in div. round (blowout) So there you are. Five seasons, four playoff games won, and a pretty well defined arc of postseason results. The question then becomes whether or not these results are acceptable five years after making that pick. The follow up would be what direction the team is currently headed.
  6. Lamar would be a perfect fit for the 49ers.
  7. Bills should have traded for Tyreek.
  8. Bills fans are about to learn an uncomfortable truth about the salary cap. It’s not a documentary, but it’s based on a true story.
  9. So any time people ask why I, as a Chiefs fan, decided to post up here, now you know.
  10. Literally might be my all time least favorite Chiefs player. https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=339455
  11. He hasn't really had a great season since he was 24 years old. He'll turn 31 next season. Here are his yards per target by season. 2014: 10.0 2015: 9.2 2016: 8.1 2017: 7.4 2018: 8.5 2019: 7.8 2020: 7.4 2021: 6.5 2022: DNP Why would anyone want him at any price?
  12. You're probably right about the 4 players, but if you are it's a huge problem. Two coverage linebackers and two aging safeties being the core of a defense is poor roster construction. Ultimately, it all comes down to whether Von and Tre are back to their old (young) selves next year. If that seems unlikely, it's probably time for a fire sale on that side of the ball. Getting younger and faster on defense can be done quickly. It's just a matter of ripping off the band-aid.
  13. He’s a 32 year old Safety with a bad knee. Nobody is going to give up picks for the right to pay him $14m for one season.
  14. But they used the same defensive scheme literally several plays in a row. Don't you know that most teams switch schemes after every play? They should've started in a 4-3, switched to a 3-4, then the Buddy Ryan 4-6, then moved to a nickel package followed by a dime package. They could have then used the extended halftime to hire a new defensive coordinator and brought in a few free agents for the second half. It can't possibly be that the Chiefs are actually talented and well coached offensively. After all, Josh Allen is literally the only good football player in history.
  15. There’s a lot of good football discussion on this board. Hell, there’s more Chiefs discussion on this board than there is on Chiefs boards.
  16. What, exactly, is your point? Jalen Hurts accounted for 374 yards of offense out of 414 total for the Eagles. If his O line did all the work, then why did his RBs only have 45 yards on 17 carries? He probably played the best game of any losing player in SuperBowl history.
  17. In 2022, Kansas City drafted Trent McDuffie (starting CB), George Karlaftis (starting DE), Jaylen Watson (starting/nickel CB), Isaiah Pacheco (starting RB) as well as Skyy Moore, Bryan Cook (starting S in 2023), Leo Chenal (starting LB in 2023), and Joshua Williams (started multiple games). 9 rookies played at least 17 snaps in the SuperBowl. They didn’t have a first or third round pick in 2021 due to trading it for a starting LT, and they still came away with Nick Bolton, Creed Humphrey, and Trey Smith. All three of them would start on Buffalo. The Chiefs will be the favorites in 2023, and half of their starters next season will have come from draft picks made as recently as the 2021 draft. We’re not talking about some garbage team with high draft picks and a roster lacking talent. They replaced guys like Tyron Matthieu, Charvarious Ward, and Anthony Hitchens…and got better.
  18. Buffalo should have outbid Miami for Hill. Would’ve cost them Von, Elam, and a little more.
  19. It’s bizarre that anyone thinks adjustments weren’t made at halftime. Kansas City called 5 running plays in the first half. They called 6 running plays on the opening drive of the second half alone including the first 3 plays. That wasn’t an accident. Andy Reid is pretty open about wanting the ball first in the second half so that he can game plan for the first possession based on what the defense did in the first half. This isn't even worth debating.
  20. Reid had infinitely more success without Mahomes than Belichick has had without Brady.
  21. If Hurts doesn't fumble, it's 4th and 10. They were giving the ball back to KC either way. Pretty good chance the Chiefs score either way. He played an incredible game, but Mahomes was even better. Hurts was not the reason they lost.
  22. The Chiefs just drafted two defensive players in the first round, one in the second round, one in the third round, one in the fourth round, and two in the seventh round. All 7 of them played in the Superbowl and 4 of them were starters. Chris Jones is a monster, but 6 of those guys were major contributions. Kansas City just isn't as worried about losing games during the regular season because of rookie mistakes. Reid understands that the postseason is all that matters, and he coaches to win in January even if it means talking your lumps in November.
  23. Josh is the only good player in the NFL. How dare anyone talking about the Superbowl give credit the the guys who actually...you know...played in the game?
  24. Funny thing about the second easy TD... Skyy Moore was lined up wrong. Andy recognized it and tried to call timeout, but it was too late. Fortunately Mahomes recognized it as well and sent Moore in motion to the correct side. It was a great play call, but it was also an incredibly smart play by Mahomes to keep it from being a disaster.
  25. In order for Josh to take the next step from being great to being even greater, he needs to learn to process what he sees quicker. A lot of that is pre-snap. When he trusts his pre-snap reads, he’s nearly unstoppable. It’s when he holds onto the ball too long where he gets himself in trouble, takes sacks, and throws dangerous balls into traffic. That’s where coaching can help him. It’s not about bad play-calling. Nearly any play can work if it’s executed correctly. It’s a matter of Josh getting the ball out on time, on target, and to the right player. There are times when he’s great at that, but there are also times when he gets a look in his eyes like the game is moving to fast for him. I saw very little of that last season. It was there a lot this year, especially later on.
