Good review of that season but I try not think about anything from those years when the Bills never made the playoffs. The Bills hit a HR with Beane and McDermott and how they changed the culture of the Bills in a short period of time.

The original Die Hard was the best IMHO. Some debate if its a Christmas movie or not. For me as far as best action movies go I would say.... The Expendables. All 3 of them were great. The second one with Jean-Claude Van Damme as the bad guy was my favorite.

Truckin' up to Buffalo - Grateful Dead July 4, 1989 @ Rich Stadium

Trouble ahead, Jerry in red. Wasn't that just before he slipped into a diabetic coma? -
Ralph deserves credit for keeping the team in Buffalo. His teams had their moments, 64-65 AFL champions, 80-81, the Super Bowl years but mostly he was a bad owner as the W's and L's prove.

Buffalo's Four Major Sports - Mount Rushmore

Thurman was the heart and soul of the no-huddle offense. I remember reading comments from opposing players/coaches back then and they all said the #1 key was stopping Thurman. Then you can get after Kelly, Reed, Lofton etc etc. -

To me Bruce and OJ were 1 and 1A as far as the best players in team history. Even though Ralph wasn't a player I would still put him up there since he brought pro football to WNY. If I were to replace him then I would put Thurman up there. He was the key to those offensive teams in the late 80's/early 90's. -

If we were to have a Bills only Mount Rushmore then I would have Kelly on it. For me it would be.... 1. Ralph - without him the Bills don't exist. 2.OJ - best offensive player the Bills ever had and arguably the best player in team history along with Bruce. 3.Bruce - best defensive player the Bills ever had and ditto above with OJ. 4Jim - face of the franchise for a long time and best QB the Bills ever had. Was the key in turning the Bills around from the horrible 84 and 85 seasons. -

Athletic article on Bills Fan Expectations
Greg S replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went with 13-14 wins and winning the Super Bowl. Might as well have the highest expectations and that means winning it all. -
Their is a very easy solution when dealing with bad passengers on a plane. Just follow Arnold's example

Friday the 13th qualifies being that its at Camp Crystal Lake. Swimming in the lake is a summer activity. With Jason killing everybody it might be difficult to think of it as a summer time movie.

Here lies the body of Mary Lee; died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her virginity; not a bad record for this vicinity.

Sorry I can't post the link but in today's NY Daily News they do nice story reviewing all the QB's the AFC East. To no surprise they say Allen is the best and its not even close. They have Wilson last because he hasn't played an NFL game yet but they think he could become the #2 QB in the division. They were not klnd to Cam or Tua.
-
Obviously the Bills offense runs thru Allen and the passing game. The biggest concern with the run game is can it be effective when we need it. For example 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 and we need to convert for a first down. So many times they failed in short yardage situations in recent years. Also what happens when its getting late in the 4th Q and the Bills have the lead and the ball. You are going to want to run it to control the clock. I expect the Bills will be leading in most of their games in the 4th Q this season. Having an effective run game would really help here.
-
I see your point. Maybe that is to strong of a word but the 20th ranking was mostly because of Allen. Maybe underwhelming is a better word.
-
They are not wrong. Allen was the most effective runner and that's a problem when he is your QB. With the exception of Allen the Bills running game sucked.
