  1. Lots of DL rotation... fresh legs, yada yada.
  2. I get the concerns: wind, snow, refs, scheme, match-ups, etc. But *****, we're on the X in 4(-) hrs. So I'll just say: Let's pole-axe these m-fers, and leave Raven heads on our battle-hardened pikes (or horns, your preference). Umm, nothing personal v the nice R fans on the board this week.
  3. At least Mina picked us (to be specific, JA over LJ). So, I think that tacitly reveals her pick. Or hell, maybe I'm just grasping at hot (and smart!) analyst straws here.
  4. Yeah, I throw in a semi-obtuse reference every now and then...just to see if anyone picks it up (or flames me for being a pain in the a**). So, CC: well done to you good sir.
  5. No, and good point No McMurphy, Tabes, Chief, or even Nurse Ratched in the game script, and Kesey ain't writing it. As others up-thread allude, screens/short crossers/etc may play very well as run game continuum. One other very interesting, 3D Dabol-chess wrinkle...think it was 9er game but I'd have to double check. Whatever, I noticed this b/c of how odd it was: Both in jet sweep motion, and in RB checkdown routes, JA was intentionally looking at them as first reads, then going deep middle. I've no doubt this was to get the action on tape for games like...tomorrow. Rationale: suck LBs/NB short and wide to open QB delay-draw lanes or prior mentioned deep throws b/n the hashes.
  6. Thanks for this reminder and pov. Made me look at other Ravens (specifically LJ) tape. Not All22, cuz who has the time? But, IMHO, 3 things literally scream from the review: 1. LJ is a great RO (not RPO per se) decision-maker. No need to say more re his athletic danger. 2. Pains me to say but, ya know, speak truth to power: LJ is astoundingly poor at 2nd/3rd order reads. First not there, he tries to run, w not always the best of results (yes, I am over-generalizing). But the "read factor" is demonstrable time and time again. Hell, I was squinting to find a time he even looked off a safety. Totally agree w point made by @Big Blitz . This is a deeply troublesome lack of QB-ing progress. Very different from our Boy Blue. 3. If a dumb-ass like me can see this, then clearly BOTH teams know this. Harbaugh/staff are clever and smart. Ditto our boys. The key then: taking away LJ's genius in RO, and shutting down his 1st read. Solution: how should I know? I'm just another putz who posts once in a while.
  7. My (tcw) Bluf: decision primarily based on Bills deeper knowledge of dynamic weather conditions (information arbitrage), w a lean towards accepting for offense. My conclusion bears in mind potential double dip effect, and small sampling of public available analytics. Very interesting and original analysis Jobot. I agree. Reminds me of something known as "branches and sequels", used to decide whether to... let's say, "impair" someone or some group of unsavories. Appreciate article offered by @prissythecat. Main flaw, which makes my hair stand up: data selection bias. I mean, why choose 2.5 yrs of games (700+), when the rule change made in 2008? It screams of choosing data to make a subjective point. I think @The Frankish Reicharticle provides The Nugget re the bias towards defer. Bearing in mind a copy cat league: "New England's Bill Belichick gained attention early on for his tendency to defer, and since the rule change, leads the league in doing so 95% of the time." So, if the mighty Pats** do it, then we should too. (N.B.: according to my latter theory, we should also expect more owners to get busted at low-end massage parlors.)
  8. Prior thread, I expressed my distaste for "athletes as warriors" analogies. But, damn, if this guy is not a Pain-Warrior-Zen-Master, then I don't know who the hell is.
  9. Wow. Powerful, emotional, indispensable vid of a moment we will all cherish. Thx so much for sharing. What are your views currently? For some reason I can't see it on my playback. I read your comment early in the day that it was already 13k...well done.
  10. Indeed. So it appears that the Hail Murray, followed by the Phail Mary, will be the two inflection points of the entire season.
  11. One like for content. Wish I had another one just for screen name, which is a freakish triple pun. Don't know why I didn't notice before; very unusual to see out here in nature.
  12. Occam in the hizzie! And he's wielding the big Razor.
  13. FYI: Dr Endl is a great guy and damn good doc. Just put a bunch of stents in my eyes. Not trying to advertise them (no affiliation). And, uhhh, Dr. Kate G. is, well, rather nice to meet (very skilled as well, but I'm just saying)
  14. A prima nocta ref, and in perfect context. Brilliant. I hereby damn thee...for being more clever than myself.
  15. But BTB...if we waited for actual facts, what the hell would we talk about? And ya gotta h/t the OP just for making the effort.
  16. I thought I was the only one... I have some odd fascination with this rant.
  17. Agree completely, as several players have stated publically. For the record, I'm going to only refer to that last Rivers throw as...The Phail Mary. Ba dum bump. Thanks, I'll be here all week folks.
  18. I've got same question, as it's really disconcerting. Have to wait for C1 analysis, I guess. Or, maybe, as @HappyDaysand others say, we over-value Smoke (my paraphrase). I'm agnostic at this point.
  19. Good stuff. Interesting take that Knox td was legit rpo.
  20. How do I reply to this Mango? Want to use the "ha ha" but now don't know how will it be interpreted.
  21. Now THAT is freaking funny. Thanks for sharing the scene.
  22. Sorry, one more, and I really think this could be used alot: "Please read the f***ing thread before posting"
