Buffalo Bills sing 12 Days of Christmas
Dukestreetking replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brandon Beane is no-sh*t great in this. It takes smarts--and instincts--to have good comedic timing, and damn he has it (err, I should say "both"). -

Same. But, gotta admit, one of the better ones. So I gave it a like, just in the spirit of community. -

Feel exactly same way. So, with all due apologies, I repeat my quip from last week (slightly modified). Hours flying by Like anvils Borne aloft In the 4:30 p wind. -

Tre' Day gets chalk board fodder!!
Dukestreetking replied to 27yankees's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beerball: good, straightforward question, but that's not exactly what the analytic/metric graph represents. I won't detail it here (see above), but the CPOE/Target graph is not, per se, a team defense indicator. A wee bit, but not exactly. Thus spake DSK, Newly Minted, Still Somewhat Confused, PhD (Analytics). -

Basically, yes. For S&G, I did a deep(er) dive into these and other metrics. Re (best piece) imo: https://distinctathlete.com/2020/11/25/opinion-a-quarterback-metric-amalgamation-for-your-consideration-when-evaluating-josh-allen/ My analytic (ha ha) results: 1. The stat/metric geeks are controlling our lives, will obliterate our love of pure football, and will almost certainly destroy our American way of life. 2. That said, Tre is having an amazing year. Fewest targets (on "average") and, when targeted, gives up low completion rate. Separated only by a few percentage points from the "best". Remember kids, scale of a graph is enormously important. 3. A bit o/t, but JA is having an absolutely great year--not the best--based on the average of the average (etc) of all the genius metrics. I'm exhausted. Need a drink. -
Matt Barkley thanks Veteran. Good stuff.

Recently changed my avatar as an homage to a colleague who--I learned a few wks ago--didn't quite make it home. So, to me, this is very cool on MB's part. Earns him another yr on the team, even though my (amateur) football brain says to go in another direction... -
Imo, great topic/question. I realize it's been discussed here and there, but may deserve it's own thread??? Just for ex., and aside from airport: possible to "gather" at/near stadium for Fish game? For a practice? Objective: show player appreciation as they drive up. Assumptions: outdoors, at place xyz, not controlled by Pegulas, proper protocols, yada, yada. Probably a pipe dream, but there's hella creative people here, so who knows?

The josh haters are out in force today
Dukestreetking replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, I'll beat the dead horse: I get all this Stank...I suppose I was trying to be a bit light-hearted in my criticism (to wit, the latin phrase, De Niro ref, etc). And trying to afford them an out in the future. I don't KNOW what's in a man's heart, so I try to reserve judgement. (h/t Seoulofstone) But I was frankly surprised by how openly racist--there's no other reasonable way to put it--this dialogue was, esp compared to B's more "understated" TV commentary, which is iffy by itself. And, believe me, I've worked in the most racist regions in the world (hello MidEast and Eastern Eur/former Soviet states). Comparatively--though difficulties remain--the US is a racial bantamweight. I mean, if you've ever been in Belgium (a NATO freaking ally, no less) try to get an avg Waloon and Flemish guy to to speak seriously re such issues. Good luck! -

I've read prior thread re Bomani "hatred" for JA, and I trust I understand the arguments back and forth. But honestly, after listening to the relevant sounds bite--and in my best (sotto voce) Bob De Niro voice--all I can say is "this sounds a little bit racist." But, what the hell, I'm sure they'll come around. -
Cole Beasley is the absolute goods. What a signing!
Dukestreetking replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dig the topic, and I am a huge (did I say huge?) CB fan. But, with apologies, my brain shuts off watching the above GMFB clip. Kay. Kay.... -
Great synopsis, thanks Rochester. Best part is #4: Recognition...sky (mind) is the limit on this, year over year, esp as/after he reaches peak "athleticism". Re the latter: can't wait to see him on a no-s**t, hard nose, strength-nutrition program. Holy crap, what a freaking monster we will have!

"65 Toss Power Trap. That might pop wide open." My drink during Bills game will now be called 65tosspowertrap. Wife: you're guzzling alot of that stuff. What is it? Me: 65tosspowertrap, baby! Yeah, yeah, ha, ha! Wife, puzzled, walking away: umm, ok. -
Brilliant. Seriously.

Confession: I've side-kicked (umm, commonly known as "smashed through") 3 TVs over the years. Set-up: based in CA for 25+ yrs, but mostly was overseas. So actually getting to watch a BB game was a precious--and emotional--commodity. Events: (1) Post-4th SB loss, after returning from a month "up north". Watching at a secret squirrel location in Bahrain, so at least it was a US government tv. (2) MC Miracle, but I had enough control to wait until the review confirmation... and it was in my own home. (3) Circa 2012(?), first day back from an Iraq deployment--"evolutions" in our parlance. Early in a very Bill-sy blowout with me yelling "I came back for this s**t!" Unfortunately, it was my gf's tv. She was not, let's say, exactly supportive. My defense: never stupid enough to actually punch the target. Summary: Forgive me board, for I have sinned. And, ya know, "Hello therapy."

Spent 10+ yrs in Iraq/Afghanistan doing yada, yada, yada. Painful memories of losing friends. Am I heartbroken when someone kneels for the anthem (and flag)? Yes. Does that person have the right to do it? Also yes. So, I'm left w seeking some middle ground, perhaps along the lines of Gugny's suggestion: just don't play the anthem anymore.
